It's a pretty nice Goodwill. I like it so much more than the Goodwill on Rockville Pike in Rockville. Prices are not marked up here as they are at my previous mentioned location. I didn't buy much, only a few dollar-ish items. Mostly I bought some things for my students. I scored a box of Georgia O'Keeffe note cards (unused) for $1.99. I bought a Shopaholic book that I haven't read by the late, great Sophie Kinsella (RIP). My friend lives walking distance from here so the next time I visit I'll be sure to stop in again. read more

Tagging along with my daughter for a quick stop into Goodwill during our visit to Bowie, Maryland. This location is located in a nice shopping center with plenty of parking, The Shoppes at Bowie Town Center. This Goodwill is in a great location. It's clean and organized. I really like the extra discount through their Goodwill Rewards 50% discount color code system. This week's color was BLUE. We enjoy thrifting and find there's never enough time to search for new treasures. But, we liked this visit! The cashier was friendly and organized in ringing us out. The women's restroom room has two stalls and although the first stall's door didn't have a working lock, the door managed to stay closed while in use. Thank goodness! The restroom was clean, so, all good. We're glad we carved out time to visit this Goodwill location. We'll keep it in mind on a future trip to the area. read more

Located near Bowie Town Center easy to spot, with ample parking. One of the bigger and cleaner GW that I have been to ever. Every thing here is organized nicely by item, size, and even color. Prices are the same for each item with the exception of the 50% off color of the week. I think because of this location you can find nice name brand items, some of which still have tags. Staff are friendly and helpful if needed. Don't forget to become a member because you can save 75% on select items. read more

Pieces of furniture that is obviously too big to carry with you at the time you come to the store should be given time to be picked up. Every one don't have a vehicle suited to carry a heavy piece of furniture, and need time to get one. It would seem to me that Goodwilll would give time for customer to pick up . This would be more beneficial for Goodwill give a day or so for pick then let the item sit another week or so in the store . is this a policy. This is a good way to lose customers. And it is senseless to manage this way. Goodwill must do better in this area. Need more than 15 minutes to arrange for pickup. I've been a loyalty customer for 20+ years. I have noticed that the staff responds to positive reviews but not negative, which makes me doubt whether they really care about improving, but I'll give it a shot. I donate here a lot, and try to make it all nice stuff. The staff is rude, never says thank you, and almost never helps me unload. I make an effort to take as much stuff as possible to the Salvation Army instead to avoid the rude disinterest. read more

A recent trip to this location turned out to be a bad experience for me. It has been very hurtful because I think it's a wonderful addition to this shopping center. Overall this particular experience does not represent my views of the business but hopefully a heads up to other shoppers. I had finished browsing this store after I made a big donation. My parked car (in a parking space) was hit by one of the Goodwill associates Zoe boyfriend who was driving her vehicle at the time. This young lady was working inside Goodwill at the time and came out on the clock to assist him. To make a long story short this young lady made up a complete bogus story to her insurance company. I tried reaching out to this business on a few occasions for surveillance (to prove my claim) and was unable to get assistance. My claim was denied by her insurance due to her fabricated story. I didn't file under my own insurance because the damages to my car ($397) was actually lesser money than my out-of-pocket deductible $500. So it was a no-win situation for me all around but costly unfortunately. PARKING: There is plenty of parking however I encourage you to please be careful with parking closer to the front of this business the parking spots are very tight. I don't want no one else to go through this. I have made very good donations to this location. The associates have always been very helpful. It's very clean and organized. read more

Management was extremely rude. Closed the dressing rooms TWO hours before closing for no other reason because they were short on employees. I'm sorry sir that you didn't want to have to do more work at the end of the night--- however as I paying customer, at a thrift store where most sales are FiNAl, deterring customers from trying on clothes before purchasing is incredibly Stupid. read more

I looked at reviews of Goodwills in my area and decided my best choice was my local one in Bowie. After dropping off my donation I went in to look around. Compared to what I read about others I will say this is a large store with a variety of items. Well stocked, neat, and clean. Staff at donation center work hard and are pleasant and professional. Staff in the store are the same. The only reason this Goodwill does not get five stars is like all other Goodwills I have visited the checkout lines are too long because there was one one cashier while I was there. I could not believe how clean this place was, or how nice the staff was. I got there just about when they opened and was greeted probably 3 different times by different employees. I was really feeling the love. The place is pretty big and open, and it was the most organized Goodwill I've ever been to! I could not believe the racks were color coded, I almost forgot I was in a thrift store. There were never too many clothes on a rack which made it a lot easier to look through. My only disappointment was I walked out with nothing. It almost feels like its so nice that people frequent it often and all the good stuff is long gone. read more

My friend introduced me to this GW. I've been to different locations and been disappointed. This location is clean and organized. If you look closely you might find some nice pieces. I found an Adidas suit suit, sadly it was 2 sizes too large. I went in on a Wednesday and found a gently used Keurig for $15. Another time, I bought a brand new iron for $5. They have CDs and DVDs at a bargain prices. The only downside is checking out there are long lines. I blame management for that. It's better to shop during the week. read more

I went to the grand opening of this store today and I was very impressed. The establishment was neat and there were several employees, with blue aprons ready to assist the crowd of curious folks that packed the store. They had a variety of items like books, clothes, dishes, toys, electronics, musical instruments, etc. They even had a special section for kids to play, complete with a flat screen tv and a movie! Most items were in good condition. I didn't see a bunch of torn clothes or broken toys though there was a board game with almost all the pieces missing but most of the toys were pretty decent. With that being said, this is the perfect place to find nice dishes, an outfit or furnishings for your house or apartment. However if you're a person that likes to find treasures at the thrift store you may not be quite so impressed. There were no real treasures to find in the store however Goodwill has an online auction site that I use often when seeking rare items. Overall, this is a pretty good large thrift store with a neat layout and plenty of dressing rooms in two locations. I will be back for basic items but will be going to other thrift stores and the Goodwill website for those hard to find 'treasures'. read more

I was trying to donate my dishes amd other items. I sat my dishes down to grap the cart to put items in cart. A very rude guy came out a ask of I could read. I told him I need to put dishes because they were heavy. He throw the card at me but the door caught the cart I will never donate to goodwill again. I will find another place donate. There is NO GOODWILL at the drop off area at this Goodwill donations area. Rude and in no way helpful to elderly, me, and separately, my disabled son- in-law today. I know they are not supposed to do a lot of taking in and out of cars but to be downright rude and not offer a big dumping container for us to put our stuff in was amazingly nasty. Sat in long car line before and watched others trying to find a way to leave their stuff. I hope the inside employees are still as nice and friendly as they used to be. read more

My first time donating to this location and I wasn't familiar with how their process was so I knocked and went in to ask for assistance. I came in and stayed by the door trying to get an employee's attention by waving and calling "excuse me," he was only ten feet away but still didn't notice me so I was just going to give up. As soon as I was about to turn and leave a different employee exclaimed asking what I was doing here and the original employee I was trying to ask for help then started to reprimand me as well for waltzing in (I was only at the railing by the table inside literally just inside the door). The employees were really rude and unhelpful, they barely talked to me and just told me to put anything in the bin. I wanted help because I had furniture I wanted to donate as well and wanted a donation receipt for taxes like my old local Goodwill, but couldn't with the service they had. It's a nice spot to quickly drive by and drop off little things here and there to donate, but if you're the type that donates old furniture or a lot all at once I definitely don't recommend this location. read more

I was wondering what was going to happen to the space that used to house Old Navy at Bowie Town Center. I found out on Saturday (4/23/16) when some thrifter friends hipped me to the grand opening of Goodwill's new location. The staff was friendly and assisted throngs of shoppers throughout the store. The vast array of clothing, shoes, hats, books, housewares, etc., was a thrifter's dream. Every time I finished shopping a particular section, Goodwill staff members would come out and put more stuff on the shelves. Two sets of dressing rooms helped with crowd control. Clothes were clean and in great condition. The shoes were pretty good as I was happy that they had quality shoes in larger sizes. I even lucked up on items that still had their original tags on them. Purses were ok, but seem a bit pricey.Score, score, and score. To say I hit paydirt would be an understatement. The home furnishing section was very impressive. I saw plenty of people loaded down with dishes, lamps, and home decor. Great location near David's Bridal, Party City, Men Wearhouse and the Music and Arts store and Bowie Town Center. Overall, this Goodwill location great place to get affordable items in a neat and clean location. This is a great use of space. read more

I have been shopping at this location since it was opened. Prices have been reasonable and things are well organized. However, management and staff can really work on their customer service skills. They are unprofessional, rude and not helpful. On Wednesday evening 12/21/22, I was in line to checkout when I was told by the cashier that registers were down and not working. I was surprised that in the whole hour I was shopping no announcement was made to make customers aware. Then I was told they will hold my stuff to just leave my name and phone number. And that they will call me if registers come back tomorrow. I received no phone call on Thursday. Decided to stop by Friday 12/23/2022 to see if things were still available. I make the line to pay for one item purchased and ask about items held. Cashier seems upset about my request. And states "I know nothing about that". However, he was one of the employees working that evening. Manager was called by the overhead. Manager doesn't come to the register. Cashier points him out and states he is over there. Manager is helping another cashier and customer. I waited patiently. Then I approach him and asked. He stated items were placed back and starts to ignore me. I asked him why would they state they will call and no one called. He stated "I wasn't there." When I told him, yes you were there. He then stated " I wouldn't call customers, they were given 24hours to pick items". I told him "I would not call customers either. And nobody said 24 hours. But, why have your employees telling customers that will call." He then is going to say " stop cutting me off." which I wasn't. He then states "registers were down and that is what the gm told them to place items back". I don't expect them to hold items for me. However, I do expect managers to have better communication skills than the rest of the employees. And have a an ability to solve and deflect a situation. He was only escalating it. And catching attitude with me like I was wrong for asking such question. I always donated items at this location. And spoke greatly about this location. However, no more. Location is great as long as you have minimal interaction with employees. read more

I shop about 4 times a week at the Bowie goodwill location. I have to say lately the furniture section has been an absolute mess! Whoever put the furniture on the floor has not been doing a good job there was no direction to walk or isles in between pieces. The young man Roger working in the furniture section today did an amazing job organizing the furniture into a grid layout that helps with customer flow! I was extremely impressed with his work. Was definitely better when it first opened as far as quantity and quality of goods. And compared to other GWs. Now it seems less volume so less likely to see something you are looking for. I drive 40 minutes to this store because it is so organized and clean (and has historically had an abundance of good brands; however, the variety of higher/better labels items has dwindled, so the drive is not worth it anymore. Staff wasn't friendly on my visit. Cashier seemed like she was ready to go home. I spoke and attempted to converse with her but was ignored. I had to ask her if she wanted my phone number. Usually they ask me but she was quick in asking if I wanted to round up my payment. I go here quite often and find that the younger staff appear to be more friendly than the older ones. Although the store could be considered somewhat organized for a thrift store...the customer service was unbelievably terrible. There was only one cash register open, although there were three cashiers available all just standing near the front. I had to wait in line for over 20 minutes, and there were only two people in front of me. I was very disappointed with the service and selection. read more
