Val's represents everything good about comfort food, and they have been doing it really well for a very long time. Their longevity from a bygone era is a testament to the quality of their food and drinks. I won't lie and suggest they have the best burgers around, but with consideration to price, they're really quite good. If you're a fan of greasy, thin patties, this is your place. I'm practically drooling just writing about them, and I always make sure to get a couple extra to reheat for a second meal. Most people order their meals from terminals inside, adding or omitting the regular fixings. Get fries with your meal because not only are they delicious, fresh, and salty (they use a special seasoning), they also dump quite a bit extra into the bag, which then keeps your sandwiches warm and juicy. Try washing everything down with one of their famous shakes. Although I've never tried them, everyone I've ever talked to says they're fantastic. I don't think there are many locals that don't know about Val's, since they've been pleasing appetites for decades. But if you haven't come here, it's definitely worth a drive. It isn't a sit-down restaurant, so plan on take away or eating in your car. There is really nothing bad to be said at all about Val's. Stopped here on the way up North at around 5:30PM. Pretty full in the small space with people waiting for their food. You order at a kiosk on either side. I got a pumpkin pie milkshake and a regular order of fries, which was only about a 5 minute wait. Very delicious, and the fries were hot and greasy; similar taste to McDonalds' fries. The best hamburger joint in, dare I say, the world, just ahead of Jacks in Valley Village, CA. Once a St Cloud resident 20 years ago, I will always make it a point to stop by Vals whenever I'm back in town from California. The cheeseburger and fries are so dang good and remind me of how McDonald's food tasted In The 80's when it wasn't over processed like today. I usually order the 2 cheeseburgers and small fries (which is like an xl fries). Sometimes a shake. I am always so happy during this meal. Awesome vintage hole-in-the-wall burger joint! Totally retro except you place your order on touchscreens which is hilarious cause everything else is is exactly the same way it's been since the 50s. I guess it makes sense since the 50s futuristic dreams were of having robots serve us and take our orders etc. Fries were great, classic shoestring. Decent, cheap burgers & really good fries at this hole in the wall. You enter to a standing room only lobby, place your order on their self serve kiosks & wait until your # is called. Got a double bacon cheeseburger with the works (ketchup, mustard, pickles & onions) for less than $4. My BF & I ate for less than $12 total. Unless you're a huge fries fan, a regular order will definitely serve 2 people. They're skinny cut fries too, which I'm a big fan of. Didn't get a chance to try their malts but I'm sure we'll go back sometime & grab one at that point n PS- you either eat in the car or get your food to go. No tables. read more

Traveling for work and there weren't a lot of food options but I found Val's on Yelp and oh my gosh it was worth the wait! It's a little bitty place, and it was packed! You order on a screen and then they call your number out. One order of fries is definitely enough for two people to share and they basically just fill the bag over your burger (be prepared for the grease!) make sure you are napkin rich because you'll need them.
