    Potato and Mac salad
    Ken A.

Traveling for work in El Centro and needed a quick bite before my hangry headache turned into a full blown meltdown. A colleague recommended Valley Vida, so I rolled out. The Godfather sandwich? Fuhgeddaboudit. Amazing, stacked high (like there was tension between us), flavorful, and exactly what I needed. The pasta salad? Amazing made fresh, and a perfect sidekick. The potato salad? Eh... not my jam but maybe better suited for someone else's pallet? The sammich was huge and I only managed to eat half of it. We will have an exchange of words later after I knock out this sweet tea ;) They do operate as if they just opened, so the ordering process was a little chaotic but honestly, if they keep slinging sandwiches like this, I'll happily forgive a little organized chaos. Valley Vida is officially on my return list next time work brings me back to El Centro. Ehem...hopefully it won't be so dang hot next time :) Welp! Onto the next!

This is one tough sandwich!! 10 out of 10

OK, people. Real review. I was driving between Phoenix and San Diego. Let it be known I hate fast food and when it comes to sandwiches, I am a Jersey Mike and Ike girl. I pulled off the freeway and saw this little Asian fusion place. I pulled in there and I mean right off the freeway. But it was closed over the other side. I saw a bunch of Christmas decorated windows and this little establishment. So I was borderline Hangry and decided what the heck I gotta get something. I walked in and I ordered a sandwich. I ordered something called the Godfather and I did a combo with Mika and potato salad. So is that down. I saw some service guys come in, my only regret about this job as I wish I'd picked up their lunch. Anyways, the girl brought me up the sandwich, which was huge! I was like wow, that's a lot of food! I don't know how to express just how overwhelmed I was with the unexpected taste. I got from the sandwich. The meat was delicious, there were some kind of peppers on there that really added something and I think the flavored mayonnaise just put the sandwich over the top. This was a definite 10 out of 10 and definitely one of my top sandwich places. So much so that when I go to San Diego again in February, my plan is to pick up a sandwich for myself and one for my friend in San Diego so she can try it. The guy came over and wish me merry Christmas and talk to me a little bit about the sandwich. It was just an adorable little restaurant. And it's not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for! Daymn, I never would've thought El Centro had such a gem!

Great place to stop on your way through town. Clean, friendly, solid food, and even well decorated. Not your average sandwich shop.

It's a cute little shop with a table out front so not really a sit down spot. Honestly it's my favorite part of El Centro! I haven't tried everything on their menu yet, but I'm YET to be disappointed with anything.

Make sure you ask for all the things you need to at the window because everything is inside napkins , utensils extra sauces otherwise young ladies there are annoyed with you at the window. I felt like apologizing to them for their - inconvenience -when I was the customer . Maybe a better method for this maybe they are overwhelmed due to running from window to drive through . Other than my overseen inconveniences to others / which are minor but important details as a customer it's really a great spot . Try it out you won't be disappointed There are two tables outside but more of a drive thru than sit down . I also grabbed a strawberry match that was pretty tasty and hubby grabbed a craft energy with guava which was so refreshing .

From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a smile that truly lit up the room. Her energy, kindness, and genuine positivity immediately stood out. What impressed me most was how patient and thoughtful she was with a group of ladies who were having difficulty speaking English. Priscilla went out of her way to communicate with them, even attempting Spanish--and she did a great job. That level of care and effort is rare and speaks volumes about who she is as a person. Everything about the visit felt welcoming, smooth, and pleasant because of her. I honestly wish there were more people like Priscilla everywhere. She's amazing, and Jersey Mike's is lucky to have her. Give this woman her flowers--period.

First the good news. The subs were very, very good. This should have been a 5 star review with no…read moretrouble but... it was beyond chaotic and disorganized. I arrived about 1:45 in the afternoon. There was one person in front of me. I ordered one hot sub and one cold sub knowing that I would need to wait a few extra minutes for the hot sub to cook. I'm a regular supporter of Jersey Mike's so I know how things work. The girl who was to put the veggies on my sub has no listening skills. She asked if I wanted it Mike's way and I said "no". She asked what I wanted and I started to tell her that I wanted pickles, onions, tomatoes and pepper relish. I got as far as "pickles..." and she said You want mayo? I said no I started again pickles, onions... she said Do you want mayo? Again I said no. Nothing added to my sub yet so I started over Pickles... she said Do you want lettuce? I said no. She again asked if I wanted mayo. Nope, I sure don't. We finally got through it. I went to pay. She was now the cashier and I was the last in line so no one else was waiting to be served. I told her I had a hot sub coming and I held up the slip. She rang up my sub and asked if I wanted anything else I held up the slip. She added it. I paid and stood off to the side to wait for my sub. 2 or 3 minutes went by and she came over and said "Are you waiting for something?" I said yes, the hot sub I just paid you for. She suggested I have a seat. I said no thank you not realizing that I wasn't going anywhere soon. Several people came in looking for their to go orders and were frustrated to hear that they "still" weren't ready. I waited. Finally I asked the guy putting orders into take out bags if he could check on my order. He came back to say that it hadn't even been started. That is when I realized the grill cook was making sandwiches one at a time. I expressed some mild frustration since we are traveling and I didn't really want the subs for supper. He said he would go help the grill cook. I kinda feel bad for the girl on the grill because she acts like she's new at this. Each sub she cooked she picked up off the grill with the spatula and grill scraper to carry 5' to her right to put it on a role. One of them she dropped on the counter. I did eventually leave with the subs and they were very good. I'm writing this because the manager has a few opportunities to improve the performance at this site. After the afternoon rush, there is zero reason why I was there for nearly a half hour while there were 5 confused employees working. I'll probably stop again on my way from AZ to San Diego but if it's this insane for no reason next tim it will be the last time.
