I used to love this place! I have to travel an hour just to eat here, and it's always been worth it. But this last dining experience was subpar. The table was grimy, sticky, and covered in bread crumbs. The menu I was handed also had bread crumbs throughout the pages. My hands kept getting dirtier and dirtier with every page I turned. The food was great! I ordered a Bellini (delicious!) Pronto Pasta: Spaghetti in Meat sauce with shrimp. The sauce was super tasty, but had no meat. And two of the nine shrimp were not deveined. That was disgusting. But when I told the server, her go to was to make excuses, "they come that way." Me, "you understand that's disgusting, right?" Her, "The shrimp are already prepared when we receive them out of the bag." So, no apologies. No accountability. Just mediocre service. The waitress herself was good, except for making excuses for the kitchen. Just tasted the Tiramisu. Dry. Very disappointing. This is one of the restaurants I used to dine to treat myself. An hour drive for this was not worth it. read more

As local to where we were staying so walked over for dinner. On weekends they are open late, to 11pm, on weekends. We had a small calamari fritta, and the chicken cacciatore (inspired by Billy Joel's song Movin' Out) with an add on unlimited Caesar salad, requested dressing on the side. Calamari was good, crispy and hot. The Caesar salad dressing was excellent, just the right amount of lemon tang for a Caesar dressing, but the salad itself was mediocre. The lettuce was on the verge of wilted. I am not sure if we could have asked for more (unlimited?) but we didn't want anymore anyway. This is the first time have ever tried cacciatore so have no reference, but the dish seemed good. Assume the chicken is supposed to be cooked to the point of crispy? versus less cooked more juicy? Our server had to also function as hostess and must have had a lot of tables assigned to her, so service at times was a little slow but not bad. Probably would return, prices were decent. Could have ordered a take home lasagna for just an additional $5., but didn't want it. ...at Mister Cacciatore's down on Sullivan Street, across from the medical center! read more

The management should have more help for the few staff. The place was not busy and although we were a big party and asked a lot of separate checks our server was kind and always smiling. But took us one hour to check us out. Management didn't help the server until my sister had to go complain. Twice. We had all different kind of meals, the pasta seemed like it was microwaveable. I have been here before and seems like the quality and taste of the food has declined unfortunately read more

My family drove two hours to celebrate my son's birthday, but the service made us feel completely unwelcome. While the food was great, the servers and bartender were incredibly inattentive. We watched staff -- including the manager -- sing "Happy Birthday" to another table, but when it came to my son, they simply dropped off the ice cream and walked away. It was uncomfortable and disappointing, even the other table noticed and ended up singing with us. This used to be my family's favorite spot, but now I understand why the nearby restaurants were packed while this one was nearly empty. I would not recommend this place to anyone who expects to be treated with basic courtesy on a special occasion. read more

First of we've never been disappointed @ JOHNNY CORINO but today was very disappointed. We told the waitress that we wanted mixed sausage and chicken ITALIAN NATCHOS. When we got it, they looked good but they were some warm & cold chicken NO SAUSAGE, we waited for our waitress who was pretty busy we told her the situation and I told her we wanted more sausage than chicken, my teeth were hurting so couldn't eat that good especially the chucks of chicken too big to chew, again Very LITTLE sausages sprinkles?? way on bottom can barely seen the sprinkle and LOTS of COLD chicken chunks. When our waitress came back I told her I know that's Not her fault because she told the cooks what I call her that I wanted my nachos fixed, she replied , yeah , we have to remind them to do. Anyway, I wasn't very happy at all. Still left a tip. JUST VERY DISAPPOINTED I HATE COLD FOOD. I had them before never an issue. read more

This is the third time I've gone for lunch and I don't think I'll ever go back, they brought the food out and never came back at all ! Until I asked for the check and to go containers. Part of why I go is for the freshly grated cheese that they put on the food when they deliver the food to the table, but couldn't even ask for it because they never came back and the food was getting cold... we shouldn't have to go and chase someone down to get service, especially when they're not even busy, which now I know why they're not. So disappointing‼ read more

Would not do a carry out order when hotel is in same parking lot!!! Bad business practice, this place is no good

The one we had in Sierra Vista, AZ was a memorable experience, because it was bad enough to remember. Two different pasta dishes with shrimp should taste different and they didn't. And the Tiramisu was NOT Tiramisu. Not sure what it was, but the best description I could give is... "fluffy cheesecake". Seriously! Maybe they've improve in the decade or so since ours closed, but doubt we'll ever be near another one to try. read more

Great service, food was good the only issue is the place was to full and we waited for over 40 mins

Very good attitude and service with Destinee. The food was also very good. She came and checked on us every few minute. Again, very good service with Destinee. She made us feel very welcome:) read more

Good food, bad service. After we got our drinks, the waitress forgot about us. We had to get up to ask another server to take our order.

Great service. Lasagna was great. Beer was cold. The whole staff chipped in. Highly recommended.

Been to this place multiple times, & each time we are treated with impeccable service! I love everything we ordered! Pasta cooked well, flavored well, same with all the other dishes we've tried here. Chicken is very juicy! Ambiance is traditional and homey. I really love how its character is maintained over time! They have all the reason why we enjoy to dine out, Everything is perfect. The staff's great job, competence & pleasant vibe gives us customers an even better meal time, makes us want to keep coming back again and again. read more

first, the restaurant floor was filthy, looks like they have not cleaned it for weeks. the service was awful had to ask for service several times to get served. the food was terrible, cold, and over cooked and presentation was really upsetting. never again will visit it or recommend it, those who do do not know how to eat decent food will be the only to recommend carino's. read more

3.4/5 Stars Overall 2.75 Food 4 Service 3.5 Ambiance This restaurant has been tough to review. It's inconsistent. The first time it wasn't so good. The second and a few times after that was pretty good. Last night, it was more of a 3 for food. I had shrimp scampi with angel hair that was mush the first and when they redid it, it was still overlooked-pretty close to mush. I understand it cooks fast but be ready and take it out early. I gave up and just took it home. I can cook more pasta myself to al dente. The taste was good but needed more lemon and garlic. My husband likes their lasagna but even he thought it was missing something last night. Maybe a new cook? I would love it if they got it together but I doubt if we will go back. It's annoying to have to pay for food that isn't good. There is another place in town to try. read more

Everything is horrible floor is dirty everywhere!! Food awful, service terrible worst restaurant I have visited!!!! Please don't come

food was amazing and the customer service was really good. lIke's the way it looked inside.

My coworkers and I usually go after work but this was the last time, the server forgets everything, the service is terrible. Today we got our first and last drink like at 5:20 and an order of nachos, we had ordered boneless also, it was 7:20 and we were still waiting on the boneless and we had asked for another drink at least 3 times. This girl Rosario needs some training. No more for us, we usually leave 15 - 20 % tip but we've had it, she does not even make the effort, after 2 hours we asked her for the check and asked her why we never got the boneless and the drinks. and she said "I forgot " no apologies no nothing. read more

Having Linner (lunch/dinner) with my beautiful Queen. A Johnny Carino's staff were awesome! Food was great! Staff accommodated my special request so they get a five out of five. Special shout out to our server María Elena! So nice and personable, made coming out to our first indoor experience awesome! Thanks Johnny Carino's! read more

Are you kidding me? Less than 1/5 of capacity in the tent in front by the hostess stand. There were 7 groups waiting in line. When the hostess finally realizes that there is a bunch of us waiting, instead of taking care of us she looks for the waitress and then starts joking about how many people are waiting. Seems like these are the only 2 people working, other than the guy changing the lightbulbs. not a good way to be when Olive Garden is pretty much next door. read more

Don't let the outdated Yelp reviews fool you! This place is officially on our go to list in the valley. 1. Service- our experience was exceptional. We came on a Monday evening, around 5 pm. There was a line and we waited 20 minutes to be seated. I was pretty shocked with how busy this place was and the line was out of the door. None of the restaurants we've been to in the imperial valley had a line that long on a weekday night and I almost walked out when I saw the line. But I'm glad I didn't. Our waiter, Jesus, was serving over 5 tables at once, all by himself, there was a party of 16 across from us and that was his table too. Jesus took our order without even having to write anything down, to be honest I was a little worried that he wasn't going to get our order right, considering how many other tables he was serving at the same time AND we placed over 6 dishes. He got everything right, all the details, with everything we asked for! I was very impressed. We ordered a 4 course meal and got everything the perfect timing. We did not even have to wait for 5 min between each course. 2. The food here was delicious! I got food poisoned from another pizza place in the valley when I first moved out here, and ever since then I was traumatized when the word pizza comes to mind. Today I felt adventurous so we decided to give this place a try. Oh boy was the food delicious. My biggest mistake was getting filled up with those delicious warm bread . Sooo much better than O gardens. After that we skipped the salad (cause come on, salad?! ) and went directly into our " appetizer", which was a medium Johnny's favorite pizza. It was absolutely delicious, the crusts were so thin and the pizza was so fresh. We ordered chicken parmesan and lasagna as our entrées. And finished off with a HUGE slice of strawberry cheese cake. The crispiness of the chicken Parmesan was perfect, non-soggy and was delicious with the cheese and salsa on top. My boyfriend got the Italian soda with cream( if you've never tried soda with cream, you are missing out!) and I got the 2 for 10 margarita slushie. The only thing I did not like was the margarita slushy, it had wayyy too much tequila, though if you are here trying to get lit, you came to the right place. The fruit on top was also soaked in some type of alcohol and was different than the sweet cherry I usually have with my drinks. Wasn't really a fan with that neither. The bill was only around 65$ for everything. We had to take three boxes to go. This place is also very homey. Would come back! read more

Went for wing Thursday, and ordered Buffalo/BBQ boneless wings. The wings have changed, now little and weird. Also very soggy. I went another time for family meal and got next to nothing and were absolutely horrible. The place has literally gone to shit. The food is ok, I left my Versace sunglasses once and called the next day, no one had them, no honesty. On my most recent visit, I order no sausage on my spaghetti, substitute with meatballs. The waitress made a mistake and ordered me a side of meatballs. When the manager brought the food out, she looked very upset and didn't say a word to us. When I get my ticket, I'm being charged for the meatballs. I told the waitress that I do this substitution all the time and she says the manager said I have to be charged. How embarrassing, I just let it go and pay for the meatballs. There is no honesty here. read more

We hadn't been here in quite awhile. The food was very good and the nicely curated Italian decor was the same as always. However, what has happened to the service? The place was not crowded and yet the service was unattentive and hard to obtain. $70 for 2 entrees, a drink apiece and no extras. We would say four stars but not with that kind of service. A good restaurant manager should shape up their uninterested wait staff! read more

Once again Juliana and the bar staff are amazing. I love this place, The service is always on point..

Great place, exceptional service and tasty food and drinks. I follow a primarily vegan diet so I was concerned about finding something I'd like. My concern was for naught. I ordered the artichoke with angel hair and loved it. Easily made vegan by requesting they hold the cheese. Loaded with sauteed artichoke hearts, black olives, squash, tomatoes and broccoli. Generous serving. Two others in our party went for the fettuccine Alfredo and they both raved about it. My daughter ordered a Bellini that she didn't care for. I don't think there was anything wrong with it; it just wasn't what she thought it'd be...it was very thick, like a slurpy and also very sweet. I went for a glass of chianti and found it charming; perfect amount of dryness and great flavor. Our server, Cody, was delightful. We were checked on frequently enough and there was always a pleasant smile and a willingness to get us whatever we needed. The bread that is served for the table is ideal. It came with a small plate of olive oil with diced and sautéed garlic. I found that by adding just a dash of salt it was perfect for me. Cody brought us more when our basket was empty. All in all, we made a great choice for dinner! read more

Great Italian/bar restaurant. The wings were tasty, and cooked correctly. Came out steaming hot! The bread is delicious. Ordered the Chicken Parm.
