This place was recommended to me.as soo. As we walked in we were seated immediately. I had the Fundido which is on special for $11.95 on Thursdays I ate about 1/2 of it and was stuffed. It was soo good. The rice was amazing as well. I tried to eat as much as possible. The waitress came immediately to the table and was very friendly. I will definitely go back anytime I return to Arizona. read more

Valle Luna - Fundido w/ steak - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Look, this is not the most authentic Mexican food you will ever have. However, if you are looking for reasonably priced, Ameri-Mexican food, you will not be dissappointed. The tacos are great, the nachos huge, and the service is wonderful usually. Most of the servers have been there for 5 or more years, so that should tell you a lot! It is my local "go to" place and I will be back for years to come. read more

Valle Luna - Nachos anyone? - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Ate here tonight and waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. The waiter clearly forgot to put our order in. The waiter was telling us he was going to try to get us 50% off the bill but ended up only giving us 30% off, but didn't even discount our drinks which was half the bill. Thanks for the $5 off...will not be coming back. read more

I came here from a recommendation from north Scottsdale, had a 45 min wait didn't make reservations so that was to be expected. The hostess was bland and not very friendly we asked for an outside table as the sun was setting and the view was beautiful, by the time we got sat it was completely dark outside, and the bright lights they had on the patio caused all these little flies (might have been crane flies) thousands of them were flying and swarming over our heads and bouncing off my hair, tables, the food, the drinks, everything. We looked down to see dozens of flies all over our menu and table and asked to be seated inside. My diet coke was flat, the nachos were bland, and ALL BEAN. For the trio dip, we got Spinach con Queso, Kelly's Dip, and the guac. the guac had no flavor at ALL and the other 2 dips were all salt had to ask them to void the trio dip off our check and left. overall was very disappointed definitely had much higher expectations. read more

We ate here for the first time today. The staff were friendly and helpful. You never really know what you are going to get when trying someplace new. Valle Luna went beyond our expectations. From chips and salsa to our actual meals everything was delicious although neither of us was able to finish our meal. Our only wish was that it was closer to where we live. We did discover they have another a little closer to home on Bell. We will try that one next time. Hopefully the service and food is just as good. read more

We have had great food and service every time we have been here. Tonight we have excellent service, we truly appreciate the server's thoughtfulness and care. Great margaritas too! read more

The atmosphere here is fantastic our server was great. The enchiladas and guacamole was to die for. The price was not bad either. I would bring people from out of town to get the southwest feel. read more

This is a very popular neighborhood mexican restaurant that the locals love. We really like the food here, and have found a couple entrees that are our go to orders. They have really good happy hour specials, so it's fun to drop by afterwork for a drink and dinner. My only issue is the bar is always very noisy - it's hard to be there with a group of friends or a date of two and get in any good conversation. Parking is tough there but I would recommend you try it out! read more

Best Mexican in Phoenix (so far in my 6 years here). Food is all around great. Authentic Mexican platter style dishes at reasonable prices. Their frijoles de Ora(I think that's what the say) are amazing and my wife will drag me there just for chips and salsa! Wednesday nights, kids meals are like $1.50 and they have a menus of about a dozen dinner plates for under 8 bucks. Amazing to eat a huge meal for 4 at under $20! Believe me tho, it's worth coming on regular price nights anyway. The bar is always busy and they seem to have a good selection of both hard and soft beverages. Enjoy! read more

Excellent food with fun bartenders. I was on a business trip and looking for some excellent and cost effective Mexican food at a local place. It was suggested I go to this place and what a great choice it was. Downed a few margaritas and some steak fajitas. Going home happy and full. read more

What a great evening. Came to celebrate with a friend and the evening consisted of the staff cussing, playing grab ass and slapping each other with towels all while yelling profanities. The "manager" DJ simply said sorry and that she "didn't know that was happening". How are you managing your staff if you don't know what they are doing as they are yelling this in the dining area for my table and multiple others to hear. Poorly handled! I could go to Taco Bell and have better customer service for a 1/6 of the price. So disappointed. I did not even eat my dinner. It was packed up and paid the $80 bill. read more

The food was hot and delicious. This place is a hidden gem. The waitress was amazing too.

Always a good beer and awesome food! Haven't seen any better place yet!!! Great flavor and service. Worth to try

Love the pollo fundido at this place!! My boyfriend has the carne asada plate that he liked, and my son loves the mac and cheese. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for good mexican. read more

Love this place! Always delicious, get the green chili need fundido, it's making my mouth water right now! Good for big groups!

I try to order something different each time I go in... never disappointed! The shrimp poblanos are an all time favorite! Great service, atmosphere and prices!! read more

This place is the best for Mexican food and drinks. Spicy shrimp stuffed poblanos and tamales were both awesome. Loved the black beans. Chips were fresh. Salsas really flavorful. Waitress, Danielle I think, was very nice and did a great job. Drinks were strong and cheap. I can't believe this place only has 3.5/5 stars overall. Go check it out and post a review. read more

The servers at Valle Luna are ALWAYS so nice. The hostesses are snotty and rude ALWAYS!! It is very unusual to get a hostess here that will be nice. They are always put out when you ask for a booth or table and if you ask to sit somewhere other than where they want you to sit they snicker between each other laughing at you and rolling their eyes. I have been coming here for 25 years at least, and the hostesses have always been an issue. Also, don't order to go food! They get even more mad at you for that and will be even ruder. Amazing how a place with such good food and kind servers allows hostesses, the first impression in the restaurant, to be so rude and nasty! read more

We have enjoyed Valle Luna since we moved to AZ in 1991. My children were babies, now they have babies of their own that also enjoy eating here. Good food, good. Old memories and more good memories to come read more

It's not the first bad experience we have had here. My friend and I sat at the bar. She was carded for Pepsi. Pepsi, really? Then I had to show mine to get water. Who does that? read more

First time at Valle Luna and it did not disappoint. My wife created her own veggie fajita style burrito with enchilada sauce and she loved it! The portion size was huge and was able to eat about half of it. I had the chicken and shrimp fajitas with corn tortillas and they were excellent. Again a large portion but I couldn't stop eating them until I finished. The chips and medium salsa along with the hot were perfect. We happened to go on a Monday and they had $.99 margaritas! Wow what a perfect meal. We will definitely come back again and see our new favorite bartender Damien. read more

Always have good food. Great service clean. And they have always supported the American Legion Riders when they asked to donate for the Fisher house ride read more

If you like to go to restaurants that only have happy hour at the bar but not the restaurant, then I'd highly recommend this place!! I, however, am not a fan of establishments like this. If you ask the staff to bring your family with you to the bar to enjoy the happy hour menu, they will not let you if anyone is under 21. Happy hour, is truly only at the bar. Overall I'd give it 5 stars, minus two stars because of their silly rule. read more

Favorite Mexican food for sure! All the employees are friendly and the food is always good! The GM Kelly is AMAZING! Josh the bartender is such a peach. Spinach con queso and pollo fajitas are the best! read more

Taco salads are no longer in a flower bowl. They are regular with a few flower tortilla chips on the side with watery chicken. Very disappointed. When we addressed it with the server they didn't ask if we wanted anything in substitution.... I used to work at Valle Luna and this was an awful food/service experience. read more

This place has really gone downhill in the past few years. The food quality is mediocre and the prices are much too high. Service is very uneven. I also just read Jesse comment about why beer prices have increased so much, but we all know that draft beer is a very high profit item. And it is terrible to see her blame minimum wage increase for their troubles. read more

Laurie the manager is amazing! Will be back just because of her. Oh and the food is really good too!

Went to the Cave Creek Road location. Our waitress Toni was incredibly rude, crabby and condescending. We have been going to the Bell Rd location for 35 years. It's not believable that these two restaurants have the same name. The salsa, hot sauce the overall food quality as well as presentation do not compare to the Bell road location. Couldn't find anyone available to report the behavior of the server. read more

Great food, great service and great atmosphere in the bar area. I have been going there for years and love all the TV's showing sports.

We love, love, love this place for a comfortable atmosphere and lots of terrific Mexican food! Its kind of old school, but that's part of what we love about it! When so many restaurants have gone to sparse decor with just a bunch of tables in the middle of the room, this has cozy booths you can actually have a conversation in. read more

This is the normal Valle Luna that I go to. Excellent chips and hot sauce. They seem to have specials every night, so waits are common. 15-20 minutes are the average, if you come after 6pm. I find the males servers to be below average. The older lady servers do an excellent job, even in the chaotic evening rush. I love the chimichanga here. Pinto beans are spicy but pretty good. Rice is average. Parking can be tough here, too. They used to have good half price coupons, but not so much, lately. read more

Very good food and reliable service. Prices are good too. Parking and wait time can be a problem on weekend evenings. I've ordered the Chicken Enchilada casserole several times or parties/functions. It is always a hit! read more

Food was served quick, fast and tasty! We arrived around 550 pm and was reminded about the happy hour that ended at 6. We ordered our drinks and food and both arrived quickly. The food was hot and fresh. This is a must stop location if you are in the area. Highly recommended. read more

This place is decent for hole in the wall Mexican food. I would not call this authentic and maybe more Tex-Mex. The chips and salsa were not very spicy but decent. The food was also OK. Would be a fine place to take kids if needed. read more

Went here for lunch last Sunday with three other people. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken right away. It did take a while for them to finally bring the chips and salsa to the table but once they did I was quite happy as they were hot and crispy and the salsa was just to my liking - very chunky and not too spicy. We started off with a cheese crisp to share. It was good however slightly over cooked in a few places. I ordered the Pollo Fundido which is basically a deep fried chicken burrito filled with jalapeño cream cheese. It was served with a side of rice and your choice of beans. I opted for the whole pinto beans and they supplied quite a kick. I was really glad that there was an abundance of cheese in them to cut down on the spice a little bit. The Pollo Fundido was excellent and I was only able to eat half of it which left the other half to take home for lunch the next day. Yay for me! Service was just alright. We did have to wait for more salsa and a refill on our drinks a couple of times. But all in all it was a good lunch and someplace I would definitely return to when I'm in the mood for American-Mexican food. read more

Valle Luna - Pollo Fundido with Whole Pinto Beans - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

We came here tonight (Sunday) at 5:30pm. Parking lot was near full, which to me is a great sign of a good restaurant. I walked in expecting slow drinks and food but was very happily surprised at how fast and friendly service was. Food was good, drinks were good, and no wait time for either of them. Our server was really friendly and when we had asked someone (I'm not sure if he was a bus boy or a runner- he was serving everyone chips and salsa) for a to go container for our salsa to bring home, he happily offered to give us a whole batch of fresh stuff to bring home and it was a healthy amount! Definitely will be back read more

This place is awesome! This is my go to spot to grab a quick bite, or to have a gathering with friends. I've been numerous times and the service is excellent and the food is good. You really get your "bang for your buck" with portion sizes being more than anywhere around for the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. We love the environment and good food. But tonight, we had a server who was less than great... First off he approached our table and was looking at my children and going "wide eyed" and giving disgusted looks. He stood at our table a good 10+ seconds silently and Made it clear he wasn't happy I had my kids with me with his facial expressions... then asked what we would like to drink after that long pause of him being clearly irritated about my kids being with us. (They were not misbehaving AT ALL or doing anything that would spark some looks). He was just not friendly overall. Service was ok. Not great. But not bad. But I didn't appreciate feeling uncomfortable due to my server being unhappy that I brought my children to a FAMILY restaurant. After we paid and were leaving, one of the hosts came up to the area where the chips and salsa are kept and our server was in that area along with another female server. I caught a glimpse of their conversation. And the female server said to the Male host "dont let him get to you. Hes just in a bad mood tonight" Referring to our server.... Which confirmed the dirty looks he was giving us at our table.. Someone who makes other employees walk on eggshells because they're in a bad mood, or makes YEARS-long customers question coming back should either be let go, or have a final warning. His attitude was unacceptable. *Service rated out of 10 (10 being the best) I give him a 6. It wasn't like be just completely ignored our table. But it was the way he went about serving us. And body language... *The food was a 10 for 10 as usual. But really bummed about this experience. We still tipped him fairly well.... he is lucky in that sense. cause after the look he gave my kids, I just about dumped my drink on him and left.. Seriously. Talk to your employees about stuff like this.... people who have kids want to go out and enjoy their night too... Not be stared down and made uncomfortable by a pissed off server. Last I checked, the customers money is what profits the restaurant to be successful and pay their paychecks..... Mostlikely will not be back for a long time. If ever. read more
