We highly recommend Valex Construction. They did amazing work with remodeling our kitchen and two bathrooms. We had a tight 3 month timeline because we had a baby on the way and we needed to stick to the budget. Our job had several complexities, including moving a toilet, moving walls, relocating an exterior doorway, switching from a gas to an induction range, and navigating some tricky permitting issues with some old construction that had been done by the prior owners. Valex did an amazing job, and they were enjoyable to work with. Despite the tight timeline, they took the time to do things right and we couldn't be happier with the end result. We were able to move back in before the baby arrived and we're so excited to be in our new space. After the remodel, they checked in several times and offered to come back to touch up small details where we had feedback. Thanks for everything Konstantin & Val, I appreciate all of the hard work that you put into making our space into a home for our growing family. read more

Constantin and his son Val were outstanding from the very start all the way through completion of my remodel. They were extremely honest, professional, clean, on time and on budget- they had come highly recommended from friends who live in the Richmond where they renovated one half of their duplex and for our Sunset downstairs remodel they were equally rave worthy. Can't recommend them enough! read more

It took a long time to find Val and Konstantin to remodel our mid century kitchen and bathroom, but it was worth it. We saw Valex Construction on BuildZoom, but by coincidence neighbors down the street had hired them during the previous year. The neighbors were happy with the experience and we got a chance to see the work up close before we started. Our final product was just as good. This was our first time doing a remodel and they made it pretty painless. Even Val's estimate was clean and descriptive, which inspired confidence. They were good about talking us through the process and our numerous questions; offering suggestions when we didn't know what direction to take; and listening when we pushed back on certain plans (or when we asked for things that were in restrospect a little wild). They did their best to satisfy us while being efficient. They were prompt communicators at any time of day which was impressive. They're also just cool guys to work with. Their small crew was pretty effective. There were a couple of long delays due to a shipping problem on our end. We ended up overlapping with Valex's other projects and it threw off the original schedule. This drew the process out months longer than we'd expected, but I don't fault Valex for this. The end result was even better than we'd expected. Special shoutout to Oleg, the tile guy who painstakingly matched the sizes of two different tiles to make them look perfect together. We didn't even ask for that. I got the sense they all cared about delivering a final product that they could stand behind. read more

Valex Construction - I actively love our kitchen. It's a joy to cook in every day. - General Contractors Near Me - San Francisco, California

Konstantin and Val were amazing to work with. They provided advice on the project without being pushy and the workmanship was amazing. They were professional, considerate and prompt. The whole team was very skilled and knowledgeable; they kept the work areas clean and really did a fantastic job putting our design together. Since the project was being completed during the pandemic the team followed covid-19 protocols, and were accommodating to the delays caused by some of our vendors. We love our new kitchen and love showing off the great job Valex Construction did! read more

We renovated our kitchen and bathroom in Outer Sunset with Valex Construction. It was pretty tough because we decided to do a renovation with a newborn thinking it would be easy (which it isn't!) but Konstantin and Val made it easier for us. They were very responsive, communicative, and really cared about our project. We decided to live in the construction after they finished our bathroom while they were wrapping up the kitchen, also not easy! But their team was really respectful of our needs. The quality of their work is amazing and their price is fair. I would use them again and highly recommend their team! read more

Construction is never a fun or enjoyable experience but Valex certainly made it seamless. We had them remodel our kitchen this past September. They were communicative throughout the entire process. The attention to detail and impeccable workmanship is noticeable. I highly recommend them for all your home improvement projects. In fact we have had them do several other projects since kitchen wrap-up. **Additionally they took all Covid precautions. read more

Val, Konstantin, and the rest of the team over at Valex Construction are experts at their craft and are easy to work with. The first time I met Val for the quote, I instantly felt like I could trust him. I had interviewed around 7 other companies before deciding to go with Valex and had the best gut feeling about them. The project came in at the exact price that was quoted, and they even helped me out with small projects around the house for no extra charge which was really kind. They went above and beyond the scope of work, all for a competitive price. I made their life easier by pre-purchasing all of the finish materials and worked with Valex to confirm that the materials would work well for my space. I was able to find most of the materials from wholesalers such as East Star Building Supply and New Art Kitchen & Bath, which saved me thousands on the project. Overall I'm really happy with the final result. All of the San Francisco building inspections were passed on the first go-around and Konstantin did a great job with scheduling the inspections to line up with the work so there was no downtime on the project. Since I only had one bathroom, time was of the essence and they even worked over the Thanksgiving holiday to get my bathroom done which was really admirable. I'm really excited to increase my property value with this beautiful new bathroom, thanks for the great work Valex Construction. read more

This is a long overdue review for Valex - Val, Konstantin, and the rest of their team worked on a double bath/kitchen remodel for us last summer, and they were wonderful! We got several bids for the project, and Val immediately impressed us with his detailed cost estimate and friendly, easygoing, yet professional demeanor. Both Val and Konstantin were really helpful in making suggestions to improve the project while still allowing us to make the decisions--and it helps that they know the houses well in our neighborhood, the Sunset. It was Konstantin's idea to divide our very large bathroom + water closet into two bathrooms, which has worked wonderfully, increasing the functionality and the market value of our home. We had heard horror stories about remodels going way over time and over budget; Val and his team were exactly on target for both. As others have mentioned, they use WhatsApp to keep you apprised of every facet of the project and how things are progressing, and they check with you about everything, so there are no surprises. By the end of our project, Val, Konstantin, Karen, and Moises felt like family. I was almost sad to have it be over (!) but thrilled with the results... and since SIP has begun, so grateful to have a nice space at home. We went to them again for a quick laundry room refresh, and are already looking forward to our next home project with them. read more

Once again, Valex construction did an excellent job in my house. This time it was kitchen and dining area re model. Heated Porcelanosa tile floors, new appliances, new walls, re shaping ceiling opening, and many more big and small details. All excellently done within time frame despite multiple delays in deliveries due to COVID-19, and despite interesting designer ideas not supported by availability of materials. Thank you so much for my beautiful new kitchen! read more

Konstantin and the Valex team did an incredible job on our gut kitchen renovation. We had them take out part of a wall for our design and everything else down to the studs. They also moved a gas line for us and put in all new electrical to replace the old, questionable wiring. They worked with us to put in under cabinet outlets that met building code requirements (we did quartz slab backsplash that we didn't want to cut into). Every step of the way they were wonderful to collaborate with and bring our ideas to life in both a practical and beautiful way. This being our first renovation, we were a bit nervous, but I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it all went. It's such a joy to walk into this space now. We look forward to working with them again on future projects! read more

We were so lucky to have Val and Konstantin handle our remodel. Not only were their cost and time estimates accurate, but they went above and beyond to make sure the job was done correctly. They problem solved any issue that came up. Because of their skill and knowledge, they were able to give helpful advice and resolve any issues. They were committed to doing excellent work and making sure that we were happy with the result. They were detailed oriented, capable, and a real pleasure to work with. We'll definitely be using them for our next project and couldn't be happier with everything they accomplished for us! read more

Update: Another horrible experience resulting from poor workmanship. 5+ years ago Konstantin sub-contracted an HVAC contractor to install a radiant heating system in our ground floor remodel. Konstantin was the General Contractor for this remodel. The sub-contractor Konstantin hired installed a tankless water heater to supply water to both the radiant heating system AND the house potable water supply. (Tankless water heaters are not made for radiant heating - but Konstantin should've know that.) A back flow valve wasn't installed to separate the water flow between the radiant heat system and potable water, which posed an immediate health hazard. Furthermore, a poor quality tankless was used which stopped working 2 years after install and that company went bankrupt. After spending $2k+ to install another tankless for the house water supply, the immediate health issues were remedied. We are now spending another $5k to install a proper boiler for the radiant heating system to provide heat to the ground floor. They also moved our forced air hvac, which caused a couple rooms in the house to get a trickle of heat through the vents. In addition the hvac was incorrectly rerouted so it constantly short cycles. (That's another repair we need to complete because of him.) A contractor who is concerned with their reputation would return and correct their mistakes; but that never happened. read more

Valex did a great job throughout a fairly complicated kitchen remodel. They were communicative, clear, and helpful when issues arose. Though we ended up being delayed past our original completion date, that was largely due to causes outside of Val & the team's control; they stayed on budget, helped us make up our minds when we faced some unexpected design issues, and overall always felt like they had our best interests in mind. Highly, highly recommended if you're looking for a quality remodel. read more

Valex team is very professional and they are a pleasure to work with. They have done an excellent job! We were very happy with everything that they have done for us during our fairly sizable remodeling project. They were always willing to help with their advice, suggestions and expertise. We put our bathroom addition and kitchen remodel project on buildzoom.com. Valex construction reached out to us and Val and his father Konstantin. They discussed our project with us in great detail and gave us advice and ideas on how they would execute the project. Due to scheduling conflicts we could not work with Valex, but we really liked their approach and will definitely keep them in mind for our next home project. read more

I am a first time reviewer, but my experience with Valex team was so exceptional I had to make sure others know. I highly recommend Val, Konstantin and team to deliver high quality, reasonable priced outcomes on your next project. We recently wanted to renovate a full and half bathroom in a tight timeframe while my young family was away in Michigan. This was my first time hiring contractors as I normally do the work myself. After talking to multiple contractors, I met Val and Konstantin. Even before their quote (which was very competitive), I knew I wanted to work with them. They were honest and realistic and even pushed back on things I thought about doing that other contractors did not. I knew that they would help me reduce risk and limit the number of surprises, including navigating the complexities of an old home and permits in SF. During the project, my family and I were remote. Val and Konstantin kept ed us proactively informed sending weekly pics of progress and calling me for quick questions. They were creative in solving problems and had a good sense of design to make sure it all looked goods. We ended up coming back with still a week of work left. Val and Konstantin made sure we had a working bathroom for our 2 kids. They even went above and beyond and raced out to buy us a shower curtain and rod and delivered it as we came home. Above and beyond. They continued to be on-call with any issues and quickly resolved them. Their original quote was spot on and we did not have significant changes. My family and I love our bathrooms and wish we had met and worked with Konstantin and Val much earlier. read more

We used Valex when our roof had a substantial leak and our kitchen and basement needed wall and ceiling repairs and new flooring. First, they responded and showed up gave us a quote quickly. Once they had us scheduled, they were on time and reliable. When little things came up they listened and found time to come back and take care of it. Their price was fair, and they made sure the job was finished. Even when they did the basement flooring, they went above and beyond what I expected, and even went all the way under cabinets and appliances, under the toilet and sink, and into the closet. This was all a pleasant surprise when I went to replace some of the cabinets a year later. What makes them most amazing is the speed at which they finished. They completed the flooring in a day, while a different contractor had taken 6 days to lay the same flooring in an adjacent room with fewer corners. read more

We chose Valex from about 5 bids to do our unit and our downstairs neighbor's unit (it's a two unit building in the Sunset and we all wanted the same work done at the same time). We added a bathroom, gutted the kitchen and took down a wall in both apartments. In our apartment, we also updated the electrical and replaced many of the windows. I simply cannot say enough good things about Val and Konstantin and the rest of the team. I was 5 months pregnant when the work started and it was finished when I was 8 months pregnant- and shockingly, the least stressful part of the entire ordeal was working with Valex. They responded to every call, text and inquiry immediately, helped guide us through suggestions big and small (including stopping at Home Depot/Lowe's whenever we needed something picked up) and talked us through anything we didn't understand. Which was a LOT. There are many, many stressful situations that can come up when you are doing an extensive renovation. And looking back to 9 months ago (when the work was finished), I can't think of a single situation where Valex was the cause of any of our stress. It was always something else-- we ordered the wrong refrigerator and didn't run it by Val first (our fault), the backsplash tiles we picked out didn't look great with our floors (our fault, and Val even found a weekend tile guy to put up new tiles that we liked more, which could have driven anyone crazy). They are also great in dealing with new situations. I wanted an absurdly large custom farmhouse sink, and it in no way was intended for the cabinets we had ordered. But Val figured it out (somehow). We also wanted to move back in before the work was truly done, and they found a way to get one of the bathrooms completely finished before anything else so that was possible. Amazing. They are also extremely hard working. We had frequent evening meetings where we all met at the house to review what was coming up next, and the entire team works every Saturday. So you are getting 6 days of work done a week. Val is freakishly organized. Just a random thought. He documents everything. And he will create a WhatsApp channel for you and your family so you can track every single interaction with pictures etc. Ironically, Valex was our lowest bid. We thought that meant we'd be dealing with longer timelines and higher stress levels, but it was truly the opposite. We have now recommended Val and the team to several sets of friends, and we will be using them on all future projects as long as they still have time for us! read more

We found Valex through Buildzoom when we found out that we were expecting our first child and needed some timely remodels before her arrival. We needed to get our kitchen remodeled and to convert our master back into two rooms for the nursery. Konstantin, Val, and team were amazing! They were extremely communicative and prompt throughout the process. Konstantin was constantly over and explaining the various options we had available to us along the way. They were also overall clean during construction which was a huge help since I was pregnant. They were able to finish on time with all of the details we wanted and flexible with our changes and pivots along the way. I'd highly recommend them and excited to keep working with them on future projects for our home. read more

As you can tell from my previous reviews, I am kinda picky. As it relates to VALEX, I couldn't be happier. We had Valex design a new kitchen, remodel 2 bathrooms, completely paint the interior and ceilings of our home, and create a new living room with custom fireplace. Their attention to detail in all jobs including the demo, plumbing, gas-line, tilework, appliance install, and clean up was meticulous and all to code. I received several bids on the house project from other contractors and was surprised how unprofessional some of them can be, with a kinda "take it or leave it attitude." Not with VALEX, they were ultra-professional, they were super courteous and accountable. If a change was needed, VALEX quickly got it done and was super polite and hospitable during the process. Val worked on our initial quote and is a friendly guy who aims for customer satisfaction, he was super honest through the whole job and gave helpful recommendations on design ideas. Their Contractor, Constantin is a mathematical whiz as he can compute quickly specifications to code and is a real craftsman that can fix or build anything we wanted. They have a great construction team that can get the job done. We have recommended them to our friends and will use them for future work. Thanks VALEX for making our new home beautiful with an affordable cost. read more

I am so happy with the remodel work that Konstatine and his team did. He was professional and realistic with timeline. This is a family operation and both of his sons were involved in our remodel. They were prompt to respond to emails and text messages. They even returned to touch up a couple of minor fixes after the remodel. We remodeled the master suite, built new walk in closet, replaced entire duct system and furnace, A/C system, exterior paint and facade. I would definitely recommend them. read more

It was a pleasure working with Valex Construction. Konstantin, Val and team did an outstanding job in pretty much upgrading the entire house into a modern showcase home. When we first started the project, we tried to get estimates from a few general contractors and Valex provided the most detailed and reasonable price for the job. A few things that stood out while working with the Valex team: very professional, listened to our requests and concerns, provided excellent feedback and workmanship, and made sure we were happy with the results. I would highly recommend Valex and will use them again for the additional jobs for my house. read more

We just finished our kitchen with Valex and we couldn't be happier. Val, Kostantin and his team are experienced, flexible, courteous, accommodating, and most importantly do great work. Our kitchen looks amazing and we couldn't be happier. Val and his team were also very flexible when it came to making changes/additions/edits when necessary. He was so easy to communicate with via Whatsapp and always incredibly responsive. It was especially stressful when our countertops were 6 weeks late. Val and his team were able to adjust their schedules and begin work again as soon as the countertops were installed so we could get finished as soon as possible. Overall, we are thrilled with the final product and would use them again in a heartbeat for any other project. read more

I worked with Konstantine last year I was satisfied with his work and gave a five star. And this year when I was remodeling my bathroom the new contractor found that he took all the new electrical connections tapping from the existing one rather than running a new wire.so the load is more and there is fire hazard. To confirm this I called three more electricians to check his work. Everyone came with the same problem.so unless you get your work checked by some other person who knows the works or get your house on fire ,you will be satisfied with his work.good luck working with him. read more

This review is way past overdue! I would like to thank Val, Konstantin and the crew for a great job with our remodeling and the patience with us last year! My husband and I never had any experience in remodeling process. After explaining our plans to Val, he literally walked us through the process of obtaining permit - that we needed an engineer and an architect to proceed. That road was very bumpy with stops, turns and delays and we were worried that our contractor would start another project... But they were so understanding and patient with us, Val came to our meetings with the engineer to make sure everybody was on the same page! All our phone calls and emails were answered same day, even at times late in the night due to our work schedule! And once the work began, Konstantin and his guys weren't just doing the job - they really cared what would work best for us - recommended us which stores to go and things to get and at times they would get supplies picked up by themselves! They also got us registered on WhatsApp for communication which works great - with picture updates as well:) Our remodeling was completed on time as we discussed at the beginning which is a huge plus! They made the whole process smoother and we couldn't be happier! For our next project we would definitely call Valex Construction again! read more

In the five years I've owned my house, I've worked with three general contractors personally, and seen my neighbors and TIC co-owner deal with half a dozen more. Valex is way ahead of the pack. Like all the reviews here say, they're honest, punctual, thrifty, hard-working, and detail-oriented. I've now done two significant remodel projects with them--a bathroom and a kitchen--and have literally nothing to complain about. I will absolutely use them for any additional work I need in the future. read more

We are so lucky that we went with Valex for our bathroom remodel. They are really professional and timely with their work, while also being easy-going and adaptable. They are super nice and that goes a long away because you will generally be seeing your contractors pretty often during a job. We are very happy that we chose Valex for our kitchen and bathroom remodel! Konstantin, Val and their crew were always very professional, friendly and easy to work with. They were always respectful and made it easy for us to continue living in the house (even while I was 6 months pregnant!!) Since we were expecting a little one, they worked extremely hard to finish our project on time. Unfortunately, we had delays with our cabinets that were out of their control. Val actually took it upon himself to help us resolve these issues with the cabinet company which likely sped up the process. We also really liked that Konstantin and Val set up a WhatsApp chat where we could quickly communicate with one another. They were always very responsive and open to any questions/concerns we had and gave us good tips/advice on how to move forward with the project. To top things all off, they even dropped off a gift for our little one when she was born a week early! We would definitely use them again for any future projects! read more

Used Valex for a remodel in my condo; they did an outstanding job. Extremely detail orientated and inexpensive. Will def use them again.

My wife and I bought a house which was in need of some renovations involving bath and kitchen remodeling. I have met with a lot of contractors and was getting confused and frustrated because people weren't consistent, prices were all over the place and waiting for them to get back to us with estimate was driving me crazy. Then my wife found Valex Construction and Val came in to assess and got back with estimate within a few days, no hidden cost, answered all our questions (and believe my wife has a lot of questions!), adjusted the estimate based on our needs. So, we met with Konstantin and his crew and moved forward with the remodeling. Next few months Konstantin and Val helped and guided us through things you don't think about usually- where to put switches and outlets, what kind of crown molding goes with trims and doors... they even helped us to hide all the wires so that TV would be right on top of our fireplace! And another important detail to mention - we finished on time as planned! I am so grateful for everything they have done! read more

Valex was recommended by our friend who just completed their kitchen. Konstantin remodeled our master bath's shower (tile and fixtures). He came in for the job walk on a weekend (at our convenience), made some measurements and recommendations and came up with the scope/estimate a few days later. We have changed the scope a bit prior to construction and even during the construction and he was very flexible with it. He made his recommendations on materials. We are happy with the outcome, timing and costs. Our master bath looks great. Konstantin is great to work with, professional, knowledgeable. We will have Konstantin do the work on our next construction project and recommend him to other people. read more
