Alexander Zaytsev is a thief!!!!! He stole $7000 from me. He took $ for materials, promissed work to be done in a month or 2, then disappeared for a year=no work done. When I finally got hold of him, he admitted that he spent my $ 1000 for materials, and next day told me he will not return it. I hired him before. He did a good job, showed me his good side (a mask, beneath which is a very, very, very bad person who bites the hand that feeds him). Then, after he developed my trust, he asked for $6000 for 1 year to pay off high interest credit card debt. I gave it to him but a year later when I asked for $ back he started giving me excuses, made me wait till he sells his car, then, asked for 2-3 more month, then 2-3 more. I still thought he could be trusted and treated him as a friend. I gave him construction work to work for this $ and I gave him $1000 more for materials. He promised work to be done in a month or 2. But, 1 year later - no work, no $ and he did not answer the phone and did not return phone calls for over 6 months. I finally reached him through contacting his wife, asked her to help me get hold of him and explained situation to her. Alexander then called me, told me, that he wanted to return but will not return me my $ because I am contacting his wife, I am a threat to his family. He said: "I'm not going to return anything to you out of principle!." This is his formula/his way to justify his low/thief/ratlike behavior. I want to warn all good people not to fall into his trap like I did. Summary: He did work for me cheap 1 st. 2 nd I gave him more work but it was very expensive but good. After he developed my trust he stole my $ by using deceit and manipulation and showed his real -antisocial personality disorder face. Not only did he steal $7000, He also refused to return keys from my 2 houses and garage remote control (I gave him keys a year ago when I gave him jobs and $1000 for materials). read more

Alex recently completed a master bedroom and bathroom remodel in my SF condo. I am crazy about the results and about Alex and his crew. A+ all around. When I moved into my place, I gave the interior a 'C'. It was livable, but ..... the closets were too small, the spaces poorly used, the cabinets too low, the walls textured, and the bathroom dated. We have been in this very old house in Noe Valley for nearly 12 years and as with most old houses, we have very little closet space. It's driven me crazy for years. I finally reached out to a few contractors for advice and quotes. It's always a little scary choosing someone to work on your home based simply on a few reviews. But we hit it, Alex was fantastic! We had this 10 foot closet basically built out of a single wall. Alex turned out to be a great choice and we feel very lucky to have found him. He was communicative from the beginning, very responsive to texts and calls, and always punctual. Since he built the closet from scratch he was here numerous days. I work from home and I'm not really one who likes anyone around when I'm working. But, Alex was so easy to have in the house while I worked. He focused on his work and was not intrusive at all. Actually, a pleasure to have around. He was always self-sufficient (with coffee, lunch, etc.) and was completely low-maintainence. He kept me well informed along the way, asking my opinion before moving forward with decisions that were important to the design and function of the project. I had the opportunity o work with Alex and his team on 3 different projects in my home. A complex rooftop deck, Remodlled closest and windows and doors. I could be more pleased with this work, professionalism, polish. He has a great sense of budgets as well as gave me a couple estimates and options for each job. Rooftop decks are notoriously complex. He has a broad understanding of the of the cities weather, which informed his decision on how to build my rooftop deck with composite materials vs. standard woods. He recommend moving to Treks decking due to the better value, construction, and long term life of the product. He also did an amazing design(I think he has the photos posted) He also recommended a couple vendors to purchase these materials at discounted rates which saved me a couple grand. He is beyond candid and professional. He and his team are always on time. Give honest feedback and gives reasonable pricing options with each job. It's always best to have options which other contractors rarely provided for us in an honest way. The second job I worked with Alex's team on was window sighting and reinstallation. We had several windows that were installed incorrectly and had leaks due to weather. They were great windows and Alex said we need to redo the sighting and paper around the windows vs. doing a full repurchase of windows. The best part is it look even better than the original installation. Incredible job and couldn't be happier with no leaks. He went even further and fixed several of the issues from a previous contractor going way above and beyond. The last job we had is Alex doing our closet designs in two closets. The space is always limited but we was able to build two different closets for His and Hers... Making great space for our excess clothing. He made a couple quick recommendations we didn't even think of and it was the right call. Overall, he is a fantastic resources for any home, and understands budgets, costs and different ways of saving you a couple bucks but getting the job. He will give you direct advice different approaches for all areas of you home. He will also introduce you to a network of resources (roofers, electricians) to help you get your job done. We actually ended up doing a new roof from one of his connections and it was fantastic. We have one more deck to complete and will be working with him this summer to build out.. Long story short, Alex and team did an amazing job putting in new windows throughout our home. We had purchased a house which needed a lot of work (to say the least). The windows was one of the first things we had to invest in because they didn't shut all the way. We called, they came, and the job was done fairy quickly. The best part is we were able to live in the house throughout the whole process. It was pretty much painless, and the result is top notch. I have used SF Construction Services for multiple projects, each time with the utmost satisfaction. The first time I contacted Alex's team, I was desperate to do correct waterproofing in a shower tub that was leaking downstairs into our neighboring resident's floor. Word of advice regarding this: plumbers are not knowledgable enough to diagnose this, at least not Alansi's Plumbing. I had a hunch that the leak was coming from a small exposed part of caulking/grout, and Alex confirmed it upon inspection. Our home is near a rail line, so it often shakes. Upon mentioning this to Alex, he had the idea to redo the caulk lines with special outdoor waterproofing sealant(Sikaflex), which will not crack like grout but is many times more effective than mere silicone caulking. He did such an impressive job(and exposed poor work from the original builders along the way), that he retained him to do all three of our bathrooms. The second project we brought him in for was to redo the bathroom ceiling of our neighbor's unit that our previous leak had damaged. He did such an impressive job for them that they asked for his business card. The most recent project this company has completed for us is repair and waterproof of our three floor building's entire front facade. The window frames had old, cracked caulking and silicone that was no longer effective. The grout along the granite walls were also exposed and worn. The original builders also had the stupidity to install an interior door for outside use(to cover the gas meter). He replaced the ravaged door with a fiber exterior door, custom cut it and installed a vent into the door, and repainted it to match our building color scheme. The prices may be a bit higher than others, but you are paying for the quality of work you can trust. He always arrives on time, and he has met or exceeded timing for all our projects with him. He stands behind his work 100% and will come back free of charge if any of his workmanship is problematic(something we have not had to take advantage of). What I like most about Alex besides his excellent body of work is his demeanor. He is a big, strong dude, but he is soft spoken and friendly. He wished our family a happy Mother's Day! Not once did he put any pressure on us to do any work. He simply laid out some options and left the choice up to us. He is also humble; I noticed this in his willingness to listen and take feedback from his customers/clients. He is an expert in his field, and yet he is willing to deviate from his original intention and adapt on the fly as things come up. We were interviewing several contractors, and were having a hard time finding one, when a friend highly recommended Alex. We reached out, first off he was very responsive, came to the our house, super punctual. We had a detailed list of projects, but Alex helped us see a whole other perspective, which we liked, we needed the guidance. We felt comfortable with Alex and decided he was going to be our contractor. Alex started working on the project as promised, he had bolted the house down for us, installed brand new hardwood floors, and recessed lights. We were removing a wall and building a load bearing post, and wow the attention to detail that Alex put into that post. He did our crown molding, and even advised the sizing. He painted our whole house. We had a difficult kitchen situation as we were merely moving a few things around and adding a pantry and an Island. It wasn't a simple task, but I can't rave enough about how well Alex was able to workaround the difficulties and challenges to put the additions in. You'd never be able to tell that this kitchen was altered with. Alex also painted the exterior of our house, his attention to detail and cleanliness left nothing to pick at. I must say throughout the whole time Alex was working in our house he always kept the house clean, his tools organized, and no garbage just laying around. He was professional and pun tonal with a vision. Our favorite project that Alex did was the natural stone on our fireplace, it looks phenomenal, he also did our backsplash in the kitchen, which we always get compliments on. Alex has helped me a few times with my construction projects. Some small, some larger, but no matter what size, Alex always found time for me and NEVER let me down. He is a high level professional with experience in many (if not all) construction skills. He is not cheap, but not overly expensive either. San Francisco Construction Services, Inc fixed a major drainage issue we had about two years that required a french drain along the whole side of our house. Recently in Fall of 2013, we had them come back and remodel two of our bathrooms, a deck , frame and finish out a skylight well in our dining room. They took great care in measuring and researching the projects before giving an estimate. We had a lot of quirks and code violations with our original construction, which they helped remedy. S.F Construction did a great job reworking the plumbing, electrical, sheet rock and tiling. They were also kind enough to take care of a few other projects while walls were exposed. Work on framing the skylight well, required exposure to the attic, which had some pretty vile dust. They sealed off the area, so as to prevent the dust from entering our living space. Their work was very clean and professional. My husband and I work from home during the week and we were able to go about our business while construction was going on. The Contractors were a pleasure to have in our home, they were like family. We had everything done for Thanksgiving, just in time for the holidays. Our friends, neighbors and family who have toured our remodel during and after construction, have been very impressed with the new improvements and craftsmanship. This is the third time we called SF Construction Services. We first called them when we decided it was time to tone down our downstairs. Guys came out made a few paint recommendations and did a great job. They were also very fast and neat. I loved it, my wife loved it and our friends were jealous! :) - 5 stars! Second time we called SF Construction Services when we decided to install hardwood flooring throughout the second floor. Once again they came out, recommend great material, provided estimate, and perfectly executed the job. Once again i was happy, wife happy and friends... Jealous! :) - 5 stars! This time around we had to call them when we came back from vacation and found our guest bathroom and parts of hallway flooded. Guys came out tore some walls and flooring off, installed dehumidifying machines and gave us a few options. Tree weeks later they were back installing floor in hallway and perfectly matching it with the parts that were not damaged. They partially replaced and repainted walls in the bathroom and put a new ceramic tile. Our bathroom looks better now than before we went on vacation. I found Alex on Yelp when looking for someone who would take on a smaller job (and establish a relationship that could lead to a range of projects.) He was very responsive and visited twice just to scope out a door/frame issue and advise on how to fix. Alex also pointed me in the right direction to look at the components I wanted to choose for ordering. He did pre-work so his team could show up with a plan and the right materials to finish the work in one visit. They were on time, efficient, and considerate of the people/house they were working in - all around great people to work with. I had a little misunderstanding on price, better for me to have that on a small project, but Alex addressed my questions and at the end of the day I believe I paid a fair price for quality service.
