So glad to finally find this SOLID and super TASTY Taco Shop! Valerie's is located the little shopping and business center on El Camino alongside a Donut Shop, Banks, and a Chins Chinese. Oh, and it's next to a Domino's Pizza. The flavors here are spot ON! I loved their Cabeza Mini Tacos because they weren't super greasy or salty. Anything they make with Shrimp is excellent! Their Shrimp Plate was yummy, I loved that their Shrimp Salad had tortilla chip strips, and their Surf and Turf Fries were the bomb! The inside is really clean and the service was awesomely friendly! The only suggestion for improvement might be that they should be more available to telephone orders. Many people who work nearby, including myself, only get 30-45 minutes for lunch so it really helps to be able to phone in your order and have it ready when you arrive in order to save time. A couple of times when I tried calling to place a take out order in advance my calls went straight to voicemail. Still, it's not a deal breaker and this is now my go-to Taco Shop! YUM!!!!

Sausage Burrito with Guacamole and no cheese

Let's start with the positives: 1) I thought the size was perf, split. If I ate the whole thing it would have been perfect, not too big 2)tortilla-- warm and yummy. However too much tortilla in proportion to the innards. 3) Ratio of eggs to sausage to guac was excellent 4)DISTRIBUTION of ingredients was almost TOO good (as you can see from my ENTIRELY GREEN insides...) I would have appreciated less guac as it was too overpowering. 5) the SALSA! Creamy green was f*ing fire!!!! Definitely a saving grace for the lack of flavor The neggies: 1) wrap job-- pretty loose if you ask me. Part of it was wrapped up in the paper so that was silly 2)ingredients-- okay wtf. The base burrito only has eggs, meat and cheese...obvi did not get cheese because I'm lactose intolerant so hence the replacement with guac... but like where's the potatoes??? Or the beans??? Doesn't make sense. 3) flavor profile-- lacking in seasoning and tasted completely like guac...which still wasn't v good. Sausage was fine but it could have been crispy at least. Tasted like chopped up Jimmy dean.. 4) price-- for around 10$? Idk a base price but for what's in it? Wack. Overall a 2.5 out of 5...

Stopped in as we were craving Mexican food. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. Also the staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. Lots of salsa options with descriptions on their heat levels, what a great idea! We had burritos, chimichangas, and rolled taquitos. Everything was delicious and satisfying. Definitely will be going again!

This is the less spicy red sauce. It was dense like it had gelatin in it. Not what I wanted and the flavor was average.

This is a little larger than your typical taco shop with some indoor and outdoor seating. It is clean and the prices have the La Costa adjustment you would expect. I will add details in the pictures but bottom line: if you are nearby and want taco shop food, then give it a try. However, this isn't the level of taco shop you would travel to visit.

    Menudo missing hominy
    Reina M.

Customer service is terrible. I ordered the menudo for the first time and they forgot to add the hominy. I called and asked and she said I can come back and get the hominy separately but I'd have to hurry because they close soon. Since I couldn't, I asked for a refund or a remake and she said no. After arguing about it she agreed to refund. I will return tomorrow for my refund. Hopefully without issue. **update: I was given a refund without trouble.

Clearly states a price of $7.50. You can also see the tape.

The parking lot has plentiful parking but was completely full as I was leaving around 12pm. There were tons of order pick-up spots and 20-minute max parking spots that help with the flow. The restaurant was impeccably clean with a growing line of lunch-goers. The workers were very efficient and the line moved quickly. I also noticed the apparent owner/manager talking to regulars and greeting customers as they walked in, which I really liked to see! I was served my order to-go in less than 10 minutes and ended up unexpectedly using the other 10 minutes after taking my first bite--after that it was hard to stop. The burrito was the perfect size (not too large and not too small). My original breakfast burrito was wrapped in a fresh hand-made tortilla filled with fluffy eggs, the perfect amount of bacon, cheese, soft fresh potatoes, topped with the avocado salsa verde which went perfectly with everything. I even ended up sipping the salsa (it was that good) between bites of the burrito. I was also blown away by the clean and fully stocked salsa bar. So many options (including non-spicy ones for those with gastric limitations too!) and they even offered radishes, carrots, and pickled onions individually wrapped with care. Everything tasted fresh and home-made. After 7 years being away from San Diego, Los Tacos delivered exactly what I had been missing. This location really blew me away and I will definitely be back to see what else it has to offer.

It was on a Friday night, the place was packed, and difficult to find a spot to park. The line to order was almost out the door, but still fast to get through, and we were quick to choose what we wanted before struggling to find a spot to sit and talk. After about 15 minutes, our order was ready and we got to enjoy our food. We started with the Carne Asada Nachos, Refried Beans on the side. The meat was flavorful, very tender, and plentiful atop a pile of crisp and fresh tortilla chips. The cheese was nice and salty and the sour cream was warm to the point where it drizzled over it all nicely. All in all, it was a very tasty start to the night. The only two issues I had with it were that the guac was a bit overly pureed, making it kind of runny. And the refried beans had a very sour flavor, making me think that they were over the edge of going spoiled. I had to thank my wife's aversion to eating beans, helping us avoid having them spooned on top, which would have ruined this course. I also had an Al Pastor Taco, Craft Coast Style. The whole it was crisped up well, the cheese forming a great crust on the inside of the taco. The meat was sweetly marinaded, flavorful and delicious. On top of it was a good amount of beans, onions, cilantro, and guacamole, making for a good sized taco without any overflowing. It was pretty damn tasty. So, our first trip out here had more highs than lows, resulting in a very positive initial dinner. I'm sure those beans were just a one-off, at least I hope they were. And there's still hope that the guac may have had too much lime or had been overly mixed this time around. A second trip is definitely in the cards, with more of the family to expand what comes to the table.
