Not the kind of food we were expecting to see on the menu of an Italian restaurant. Excellent lobster bisque, great crab cakes, good tuna sashimi with yummy seaweed. Oh yeah, the biscotti were good, too. Only downside was the bread. read more

We came here with a small group over this past weekend. The dining room was OK looking (reason for only 4 stars), but the pub side is fun, cozy, pleasant. Everyone's assessment of the food was "wonderful and plentiful". So large in fact, a few of us took more than half of the dinner home to enjoy it again at another meal. I go to Valenti's every time I'm in Venice. Their escargot is some of the best that I've had and the entire menu is extremely fairly priced. The serving sizes are massive so don't order a couple items "just because." Their cookies are out of this world. We usually show up with a table of 10+ and they're very accommodating. read more

This is a totally unsolicited review. I live in Naples and was dining at Valenti's with my best friend from HS (45+ years). She, her husband and I had three phenomenal entrees ... mine was Chicken Francese ... it was delicate and savory. Paste served al dente ... She had the fish of the day and he had Chicken Parm. Overall the food was fair. The only highlight was the bean soup. The cannoli filling was good, but the shell was soggy. The service on 2 separate occasions was some of the worse service I have ever seen. It was extremely slow and with an attitude. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Homemade Canoli's...need I say more? Ok, it's Yelp, so I suppose I do, but I oftentimes go here just to pick up goodies for dessert or to take back to Atlanta as gifts. They have a great bakery and lounge and if you're in the area and looking for great authentic Italian cuisine, look no further. The Valenti's are great people and the place is welcoming and comfortable. The Vodka Penne and Lasagna are great. Give it a try! read more

A few weeks ago, 4 of us decided to meet for dinner @ Valenti's. Two of us were from Venice, one of us is from Sarasota, and the other guest resides in Parrish, Florida. We are great friends and due to very busy schedules, it is really hard for us to get together. We decided to go to Valenti's, and made a reservation. We were seated promptly, and when our server showed up, we told her, we'd like 4 separate checks. (She didn't even blink an eye! We told her before we ordered, AND told her we would be splitting several appetizers between us. NO EYE ROLLING on her part!!) Most of us had wine and or beer, but one of us had cocktails. We had Calamari, Garlic bread, then ordered our entrees. All the entrees came out together. I had the VEAL Picatta, my best friend had the VEAL MARSALA, another guest had the VEAL PARMIGIANA, and the other guest had a pasta with meatballs. WE SO INDULGED!! MY only "complaint" was, could the server find a family of 3 to come over to the table to share my meal with me!! The servings are HUGE, but Oh~~~so wonderful. I did do the take home box and enjoyed my meal for another 2 meals. IT WAS WONDERFUL evening for the four of us. We weren't rushed, had a great time catching up, and the food was incredible. Okay, so I'm biased. I've been coming about once per year for the last twenty years. They don't have high class high quality fresh and healthy dishes, but this is Venice (you know what I mean). That said, the family that owns it is friendly, and the pizza and pasta dishes are tasty and not overpriced... And the Italian pastries are amazing (especially the cannoli). Visit it. Don't expect fine dining, but expect it to be comfortable and tasty. read more

Well, I've been here a year and have been looking forward to actually eating at Valenti's for some time. My wife took a trip to Dallas and I went up there tonight for the "first meal", or so I thought. Don't get me wrong, the food was great. I was alone, sitting at the bar, enjoying it and feeling great to finally be here. I was fully planning on dessert and maybe a brandy, too. Then some guy tells the bartender to put on Fox News, and he does. Instantly, the place goes from classy to a sports bar. Forget about what type of politics, CNN, MSNBC, Fox, whatever... I'm now in a sports bar, and the class of the place I was sitting in goes right out the window. Paid the check and left. In a place like this, in times like this, there ought to be a policy against ANY news or politics on the TV. Or better yet, how about throwing out the TV? read more

This is the best Italian restaurant in Venice. They have homemeade Gnocci that is wonderful, and you can buy pastries, bread, and yes, gnocci to take home. The service is great and so is the food and price. read more

The dining room is okay - clean and open, but nothing interesting or special. The service was attentive but a bit slow, so be prepared for a leisurely dining experience. If you're in a hurry, you may want to go elsewhere or order takeout. Apart from the environment and service being so-so, the food was spectacular. We have been getting take-out pizza from Valenti's for years and we love it. We decided to take our family out to dinner with some friends. We very rarely ever go out to eat, so this was supposed to be a nice evening for us. The food was good, as usual, but the service was terrible. Honestly, it was the worst service I have ever experienced. The waitress was rude and inattentive. If the management should read this, we were there 2/7/2015 around 6:30pm and sat at the round table in front of the dessert display. I will never come back here again and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The only time our waitress seemed at all interested that she had a table was when she was collecting our money. read more

Decent food, reasonable price. Hard to find decent restaurants in Venice, but this was ok. My wife's veal Valenti was excellent. My chicken saltimboca was soupy and bland. I'll probably go back and get anything with the "valenti" attached! The pizza on another table looked fantastic. read more

Valenti's... A nice change from the average tourist trap. The decor feels like a grandma's house... warm pink walls, random home furnishings. Had a good chilled salad and a decent spaghetti bolognese. The pizza looks good too! Like I assume most places in that part of Florida, the clientele is mainly retired. I'd be happy to return to this place to support something that is not a national chain on a business trip! read more

For snow birds and locals alike! Last night, we enjoyed the cozy bar/pub area for a late night (9:00 p.m.) pizza and drinks. The staff was friendly and accomodating even though it was close to closing time. The bartender was particularly skilled and turned out to be none other than one of the Valenti family! HIGHLY recommend this place for a "date night" in the pub or a family night in the dining room. read more

It's on another level when the poor service is successful at making patrons feel unworthy of their interest. To compensate for a colossally poor experience, the restaurant bought me a drink. We ate here two nights in a row it was so delicious. The chicken soup is like your mom or nana just stopped in and was at the stove. We had pasta entrees the first night, one chicken and one veal, both outstanding. The second night we enjoyed a delicious pizza. The bakery case is to die for, we took home 4 mini cannolis that were stuffed upon our ordering them, at $1.75 apiece what a delicious bargain. We are still talking about the soup weeks later. Service both times was very good, second time he was so funny and friendly we said sit down and have a cocktail with us but alas he was too busy, you can tell there are a lot of regulars here too. read more

Food was great however that's not why I am not recommending them. The reason I am not recommending them is because we had a party of 25 people for a rehearsal dinner and our service was absolutely terrible! One server for 25 people is beyond unacceptable. We were all seated (our entire party) for a good 15-20 minutes before we even were attended to or acknowledged. Then our waitress rarely checked back to refill drinks or to make sure no one needed anything. I am beyond disappointed and will never go back. They obviously automatically included the tip for a party that large but that waitress did not deserve even a third of what she received. Do not go here with a large party if you want great service. You'd think they'd tend to a larger party way better but not this place. read more

A friend of mine suggested Valenti's for dinner, and I was really impressed! I got their Penne di Casa and it was amazing! The sauce was the perfect balance of spicy and sweet for my taste buds! I had a martini and it was delicious and wonderfully chilled! The bread was nice and soft, and I very much enjoyed the house italian salad dressing! Went here because Bogey's was packed for pizza and some pasta for the kids. Slow service even though the restaurant had no wait. Pizza was average and pasta was ok. This is basically Olive Garden quality at higher prices and no free salad. read more

We spontaneously chose Valente's on a Saturday evening around 7 PM. It was strange from the beginning. We got in a line that never moved, but everyone that came in the door behind us busted past us and said they had reservations. We called from the parking lot to inquire about reservations and were informed that they didn't take reservations. The line never moved for 25 minutes. We inquired about seating in the bar area and were informed that we could be seated there if seating was available. There was a high top available with four spots so we chose that one. As we got up in the chairs a young man who had told us that we could sit there told us we couldn't. Everyone in the bar area was either waiting on their check and complaining that they've waited 20 minutes or more or waiting on water to start their meal. We never got water or a menu, so we got our menus on our own. We waited 20 minutes after we got the menus and we're not acknowledged by any of the wait staff or the bartenders and after listening to the people beside us complain about how poor the service was and how the restaurant had deteriorated in it's quality over the last year, we decided to leave. We got up and left and not a person inside acknowledged us. We will never go back . read more

I didn't know how nice this restaurant was. We went in one night and were totally amazed. We sat down and had a bottle of Chianti and Calamari appetizer. A very italian way to start out and the calamari were so crisp, not greasy at all and out waiter told us that this is because they are lightly flour dusted with herbs. Charming! I love Penne alla Vodka, so I had that. The portion was huge and I finished my plate. My husband had the veal parm and again, it was a massive picece of tender veal with traditional penne pasta on the side. Apparently they have a bakery inhouse and their homemade bread was light and excellent for dipping in my Vodka sauce. For dessert we shared this molten cake with spumoni ice cream on top. After dinner we checked out the cookies they have in the cases when you walk in and they look like the special kinds of cookies you from italian bakeries. Biscotti, pignoli, and these beautiful filled ones with chocolate drizzled on the top. We check out the rest of the place after dinner and they have a lounge! It's a few rooms over so you can't really see it from where we were sitting but I was wondering were all those carts filled with food were going. The bar has a totally different atmosphere. Jazzy music playing with what I was were little tables everywhere and couches that the next time we go in we are going to sit in their and test out their martinis! The service was very nice and our waiter had a nice sense of humor and was nice to talk to. Definately give this place a try. read more
