I always have a great experience at Valencia Nails. Over the years, I've had a handful of nail techs take care of my nails, but Jenny has been the best so far. She is creative in her own ways, but is always sure to put her clients wants and needs first. When I bring her my ideas for my nails, she usually has some way to make it even better and I always leave loving what we put together. And I consistently get compliments on my nail designs. What I love most about having Jenny do my nails is that she takes so much care, including that I wash my hands so often being a nurse. I will continue to visit Valencia Nails for my nails and you should too. read more

I had a young lady who was very slow to get started, I waited at least 10-15 minutes while she walked around the room, checked her phone etc. She didn't engage in any small talk, no greeting and she asked only what I was having done. Then she got her jars together and went to work. She didn't talk unless I initiated a question, or comment. I had my nails dipped, with a French manicure finish. They look pretty good, but some nails are longer than others, and the shapes don't all look the same, instead of scoval, some are flat and straight across the top. I will say, the first time I went to Valencia nails, I had a much better experience! I will go back again, and ask for a different technician. read more

My husband and I visited here for pedicures. I wanted it to be a relaxing experience for him. It was not. No one seemed happy. It was rushed. They spoke in a language to one another we didn't understand. Very rude. The woman who did my husband's pedicure went so deep with what looked like a cheese grater that he could barely walk for a week. All of my polish chipped off after about 5 days. I've been wearing OPI for decades, never had that happen. Overall terrible experience and we will never recommend or return. read more

Service: Tina has always done my manicure (normally acrylic but now back to natural). Sara/h and Daisy have been the two who have done my pedicures. They have always been amazing! I mean so nice and attentive truly. I always tip well because of that. They are good people! Quality: The issue I have is quality. I paid the same in Del Rio for better design work, evenness, thinner nails, etc. I've politely asked for adjustments here and there but sometimes you get tired of asking. Everyone here always seems to be in a bit of a rush and it's not as relaxing as I'd like it to be so I'm always ready to go by the end. I've been 5 times now and decided to start reverting to my natural nails because I can give more attention to the style and care. Pricing: For what you get, sometimes it's worth it... sometime it isn't. This is why it's a splurge I won't continue to do here and I'm tired of looking for a solid place in San Antonio. read more

I have been to this place at least 5 times now. I have had pretty good experiences every time. They serve you a drink and just let you disconnect and relax. I'm not particular with who actually does my pedicure but it's been good every time. Massage chairs, drinks and relaxation. What more can you want? Also... reasonably priced, normal pedicure is about $30 plus tip! I definitely recommend trying this place out!! read more

Great spa! I was a walk in on a busy Saturday and I got attention/pedi chair right away! They have so many pedi chairs and mani stations, I can't believe there'd ever be a wait. This place is much larger inside than it looks. I didn't make an appointment but it seemed quite a few people do. I had a pedicure and dip manicure. Tons of colors available...every color under the sun. They had plenty of employees on hand to take care of the steady flow of customers coming in. I'd consider this place to be better than your average nail salon....I will return. read more

This was my first professional manicure. I have been doing my own nails for awhile. I asked for the dip powder. I wish I remember my nail tech's name. She was very nice and my nails look great, but... She used dirty tools. She did not have me wash my hands first. I told her I still had a little dip powder on my nails from my last manicure. I confessed that I picked most of it off (like you're not supposed to). She filed a bit then literally picked more off!!! Her nail bits (for the nail drill) were in a little container. They looked dirty and dusty. After she used each one she just put it back in the same container. She did the same with a buffer. I watch enough nail videos to know that's not sanitary. I should have spoken up. I will not go back there. read more

I used to go all the time and always had good experiences, but went today and paid way more than what the service was worth. They rush through their work and aren't paying attention half the time. If you're going for a quick service it's fine, but you can pay a lot less for better service other places. The area is nice but that's about it. read more

Do NOT go to this nail salon. They need to be retrained and decertified. They charge high end prices for ghetto sloppy nails. They get upset if you tell them you want something specific or a correction. And they'll lie to you saying they can do something when they can't. I asked for xxlong gloss black coffin nails. They gave me ballerina shape, or moreso, oval nail shape with the tips cut off. They didn't even use the no curve tips, they used the cheap curved nail tips when I specifically stated I wanted straight and lied and said they could do it. They charged me $135 for mediocre nail sets, not a manicure and a pedicure. My hands and feet didn't touch water at all. There was no massage, no hot towels, no stones, no lotion, nothing of the standard services, just the nails and nothing more, and they did a horrible job. I immediately went to HEB to buy the remover. I HATE these nails and paid $135 for them. PLEASE see the included pictures. I am embarrassed of my hands right now. My nails are bumpy, not smooth. And it's not just my hands that are like this. My toes are bumpy too. read more

Guys, it's ok for us to go get a pedicure. Seriously. And once you've become comfortable with the idea, Valencia is a great option. Don't let the storefront fool you. The interior is loaded with chairs. You get a free drink with your pedi. The pedi itself includes trimming your nails, a foot and lower leg scrub and some other stuff that I don't even know what to call. All in all it's relaxing and it's good for you. At $30 it's also affordable. read more

So I came here to get a pedicure a little over a month ago (my toe nails typically take long to grow out) so I started peeling away the shellac that they had used on my toe nails only to reveal I have toenail fungus. I've never had toenail fungus in my life and it starts where the shellac starts which indicates to me I definitely received this from the salon. My toe nail is completely lifted from the skin in the area where the shellac is and it's a brown olive color. Just be careful and make sure the tools they use on you are coming from an unopened package and that they're sterile. Will never visit this salon again. read more

First of all I rarely make reviews unless it is a amazing or if there was a problem that could affect others, and in this case I feel it definitely can effect others. So for my review the service was nice the tech was great, nails came out great I got the dip powder. For the bad review my nails started falling off and chipped by 1 1/2 weeks. I rarely get nails done so don't know how long they are suppose to last, but thought that was pretty short time. Anyways as they where coming off I noticed my natural nails were very weak, they hurt to even open a box and I noticed discoloration at the tips, and my nails started lifting up, I went to the dermatologist and they told me it was a fungal infection so now I have to treat it and I writing the to warn others, I personally will never go back there EVER again!!!!! I can't tell other to not go back there but I just want to warn you..... also my sis in law went with me the same day and had the exact same experience with her nails so she is also treating her nails as well :( read more

As the summer quickly approaches guys and gals alike will flood to the salons to get those manis and pedis for sandals and open toe shoes. I was derelict on my home pedis and rushed into the salon as it was way past time for me to get those piggies painted. I stopped into the salon around 7:30 pm not realizing that they closed at 8. After a quick deliberation, I decided on just a pedicure as they were close to closing and the toes were in dire need of TLC. I was escorted back by Kelly for my pedicure and brought a complimentary Mimosa from the manager. I noticed many different versions of Pedicure and Manicure packages but did not see a price on any. Often I'm surprised at the register when prices are missing and this was no different as I coughed up 55 bucks ( not including the tip )to have shellac removed and replaced on the toes. While the industry standard hovers around $30-$45 I get Better package deals at the Spa of Cibolo Canyons. Granted the place is beautiful and the ambience is spa-like, but it will be tough to compete as a new salon on Bulverde with the many others in the area. It is very convenient to the house but so is the Spa at Cibolo Canyons and five other salons. Kelly did a phenomenal job and the toes were sparkling sporting that Pink Panther but still a bit pricey for my purse and didn't even get a manicure.. .. If I'm paying that much there must be a hot stone massage thrown in somewhere .. All in all a great pedicure for being in a pinch as I was headed on vacation the next day.. Customer service was great but nails not so much. The dip came out super bulky and lopsided also had little bubbles. The shape of my nails weren't even the same. Also cut my toenails super short and the paint on them looks sloppy and rushed mainly bc it was rushed. Sadly wouldn't return. read more

I have been frequenting this place for over a year and have recommended this place multiple times. But as of recently, I've been getting knicked, improperly filed down and had less than ideal results. The service has been inconsistent and it's sad to see this place go downhill. I'm usually a short, square, neutral gal, but the owner is happy to embellish me when I get a wild hair for design - think festival or holiday time. Since I'm customarily boring, I always tell her I'm planning design as early as possible so she can schedule appropriately & I don't F Up the remainder of her schedule. She can do aaalllll the things, but if you wait until go-time to request some outrageousness, she may not be able to work it in. They usually get walk ins seated within 5-20 minutes. If they can't get you in , they won't lie to you and have you waiting around for an hour. I have two primary reasons for sticking with a nail salon 1. Quality work. 2. Real people. I never understood people who don't communicate what they expect or say, "whatever you think is best" & then complain when a service isn't what they "expected." Every tech at Lotus has wanted to understand what I want and has worked their best to provide. Every one of them have been uber-nice & respectful to me if I decided on a mid-service change.....they were even nice about a post-service change once, but its probably because that is an extremely rare occurrence for me and I try to be nice & respectful in-kind. I am very particular with my nails and for this reason I am taking the time to write a very well earned review - Leon at Valencia is AMAZING!!! He always takes his time with my nails and is very good at what he does. I wear my nails long and he does them in away where they last, aren't too thing or thick and look as natural as possible. Leon is honest about any extra charges there are for my nails (long is extra) and very helpful when picking out colors that look good with my skin tone or for the season. The white polish was uneven, incomplete, and messy, even after a second attempt. My big toe was cut, and another toenail was filed too far and turned purple. The pedicure was incomplete because I did not receive the massage. When I asked them to remove the polish, they ignored my request and told me to pay. The older gentleman blamed me for wasting two hours, spoke rudely, pointed at me, and made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected. I strongly do not recommend this salon.

Every single time, great customer service and a high-quality manicure. I'm SUPER picky when it comes to getting gel manicures. I've been to other nail salons where they don't clean up the sides of your nails so within a week, the polish starts lifting up, defeating the purpose of even getting a gel manicure in the first place. It should last you AT LEAST 3 weeks. My gel manicures have always lasted me a good 3 weeks, sometimes more, depending on how harsh I am on my nails while using my hands for everyday tasks. The time and meticulous detail that each nail tech puts into the manicure pays off in how well the manicure lasts! They make sure to clean the sides and also take care in painting polish along the tip of the nail to assure that premature chipping doesn't happen. For a $30 gel manicure, this is a steal for the service you receive. This is my new go-to nail salon!
