You tell me what you think.... disappointing
Amanda H.

I always use to come to this bakery but the new owner who used to own the little Caesars across the street have a nasty attitude and so does his wife. (has nothing to do with this experience but from prior experience) The most recent experience was the last officially! I came in to get a cake for my moms birthday who requested Valencia custard cake. I normally would go to the hunts point location but wasn't able to this day. Entering the location I hear a man yelling from the back, asking me which size cake I would like informing me they only had custard and pineapple. Which is fine because of Covid but what a weird Protocol. The rest of the exchange is normal but when I arrived home with the cake for my mom's birthday I realize it was a mistake. The Flowers on the cake looked dry making me feel that it was an old cake. After getting my slice and taking a bite I realize the cake tasted spoiled! I thought maybe it was just me but everyone else said it tasted weird including children!! We threw the whole cake away and will not return to that location. The location at Huntspoint always has fresh cake and the Older gentleman there was so helpful! I will never come to the location on 138th. I will never recommend the location on 138th.

Than made my wedding day cake July 20. 1979 I always got my birthday cakes too. I live in Iowa there no good bakery here or Italian bakery thank you so much

This cake was horrible....my boyfriend got it for my bday and obviously it was made poorly because of the cake tiliting.....I've never seen a cake do that & Ive been a pastry chef for a few years. I can get over the cosmetic part if the cake actually taste good. Which it didn't! It tasted like wet stale cake....I couldn't even tell what flavor it was. Wasn't exactly ideal for a birthday cake. Loved the blue just wish it tasted good.

What I asked for.

The cake was absolutely DISGUSTING. I was told they couldn't do the lettering and it would be written in icing and requested PINK WRITING. When I picked the cake up it was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SIZE AND WAS LOPSIDED. The owner lied to me about WHAT I ASKED FOR as if I DIDNT SPEAK TO HIM MYSELF. The cake was dry and nasty. As you can see I didn't receive what I paid for. Absolute disgusting and dry and instead of vanilla tastes like coconut.

Mouth-watering, best ever, authentic, Dominican Cake! NO JOKE. No other bakery can touch their style of cake. If you never had it, you must try it. I insist! I'm soooo nostalgic over them. I've been eating Valencia cakes since I was a kid growing up in the Bronx in my dominantly latino neighborhood especially the typical and most popular yellow cake with pineapple filling and slammin white icing. Ahhhhhhhhh. The yellow cake is so well made, soft and delicate that it literally will melt in your mouth. The pineapple so sweet and so tropical. There is nothing like it. The white sugar icing just puts it all together. It's a great combo of flavors. There are other fillings like guava, apricot, chocolate, strawberry, etc. But for me, I have to have the original pina filling. I am so glad to have reviewed Valencia cakes 1st on yelp. There are many bakeries through out the Bronx and I noticed some in Manny. There's also the Valencia factory in SoBro not too far from the Hunts Point area if you dare to go there. I highly recommend Valencia cakes. If you wanna be a New Yorker, you have to try it and indulge in Latin Amer flavor of baking! According to their site, www.valenciacakes.com, they are open 7 days a week. Good for last minute celebrations. Cakes are always fresh.

My baby's Yo Gabba Gabba cake! These people are amazing!

The cakes here are delicious. They are known for the Boston Cream pie but everything is great…read more The workers are courteous & professional. In a part of Morris Park that's changed, Conti's is a great asset. My constructive criticism on Conti's. I ordered 2 cakes online. Paid in full for both last week. They gave me a pickup window 9AM. I show up early & there's a big line. I ask a worker & she says there's 1 line. She states there's 1 line for picking up a cake paid in full, ordering a new cake, getting coffee, getting pastries. Guys NO GOOD! Why pay in full & order a week prior? You should have 2/3 lines. 1 line picking up cakes paid in full only. 1 bread line only. 1 line for new orders. I mean this criticism as constructive

a pound of cookies went from $15 to $22 in a year. I understand the economy is bad, but 10 cookies…read morefor $22?? that's highway robbery. I remember when Conties would price the specialty cheesecakes to $30-$35 max. a 12inch pistatchio cheesecake is $46???? i know for a fact the employees dont get paid enough for the price of a cheesecake to increase that dramatically. one of the girls said the pies/cakes are made a week before they're sold, so the price on soon to expire pastries is insane. for $46 dollars I can get a larger and better quality cheesecake in Manhattan. The ladies behind the counter look unhappy and find every request to be inconvenient. this place is definitely ripping you off. UPDATE: I opened the box of cookies for my friend, she reached for the first cookie and as soon as she took a bite, she pulled out a blond hair from the cookie. $22 dollars for cookies full of hair. I'm never going back.
