Would highly recommend Val Vista Vision. We have a family full of eye problems so I wanted to take my six year old boy in who has been complaining of headaches after school. I took him in and was warmly greeted by the front office person. They quickly brought my son back and started doing some tests with him. I could tell that our tech/optician wasn't very experienced and that is my only complaint...I feel like she needed someone watching her and helping her when needed. But then our optometrist came in and she was so great with my son. They figured out his eyes were great and did not recommend glasses. Lesson Learned: I wish I'd known sooner!! Their eye exam is NOT inclusive, the 1.5 hours I spent in the exam room apparently doesn't offer a full prescription. Unless you try on glasses for an additional $15 fee, they won't give you a full prescription which can be used elsewhere for ordering glasses. Bottom line, if you want to buy glasses through them, they're great and I previously gave a 5 star review. But if you want to take your prescription and shop around, you'll have to pay extra or have a second exam elsewhere. read more

I saw Dr. Filatova today. I have Chiari Malformation and she was very thorough and patient with me and my condition. She explained all of her concerns and explained in great detail my results. Very empathetic and trustworthy. The staff was friendly, helpful, and also patient. I never once felt rushed. Dr. Stacie Eskew was awesome! She gave me a thorough exam and a suggested a change in my presciption. She set up a program to deal with my dry eyes and gave me samples of the products I should use. She assured me that I do not have macular degeneration by showing me the film of the back of my eye (a previous doc had commented that I did). She explained everything she did and recommended. The office staff was friendly and accommodating. Laura, the optician, was so very helpful with choosing frames for both daily glasses and sunglasses. I moved here from Minnesota in 2014 and needed to find a new eye doctor. I found Val Vista Vision within a reasonable distance from my home and set an appointment with Dr. Tina Cooley-Staley, I will have to say it was the most thorough exam I have had since leaving my small town eye Dr. in South Dakota. I typically wear contact lenses 95% of the time but now am in need of a new pair of eyeglasses, so I went shopping for new glasses at different locations as my eye insurance changed to Eye Med and the last time I was in there Dr. Tina Cooley-Staley told me she didn't accept Eye Med. So I assumed my insurance wouldn't be accepted there for glasses so I went shopping elsewhere. When I called to get my prescription I was told that Dr. Tina Cooley-Staley didn't accept the insurance but other Dr.'s did and the office did so I could use it for my glasses. I was then introduced to Mandy, absolutely love her personality, told her I was looking for a Nike 56, she chuckled and said I would never let you leave the office in a 56, its way to big for your face. I then asked what do you mean, that is when she explained what the difference was in glass sizing in order to make sure you pick the right glasses, first I had ever heard about it. She then picked out some frames and said here, try these, the correct sizing for me was a 51, looked so much better! So now that I had been schooled and educated I went back shopping to make sure I was getting a decent over all price. Bottom line, are they a bit more expensive yes, however you get what you pay for. Mandy was extremely knowledgeable, yet has the I have know you forever personality. After going back out and price comparing I went back to Mandy as she proved to me she deserved the business over the bigger guys! So don't waste your precious time doing what I did, just let Mandy take care of you and you won't be disappointed! Quite simply, this is my favorite business in Arizona, period. Dr. Cooley has established a ten star businsess, but I could only give them five. I've been going to Val Vista Vision exclusively for almost twenty years because the service, prices, and selection meets all of my expectations. The staff (Patricia, Andrea, Sue, to name a few) know me on a first name basis, and they've been part of the business for as long as I can remember. They provide a wide range of hours, have just moved to a new location on Boston St. in Gilbert, and generally have a selection of frames that include the latest styles. They were able to provide me with a great set of round frames that are now making a comeback, but are hard to find. I get compliments on these glasses on a regular basis. This office was clean and the selection of frames are endless. Laura was so pleasant when I came in to order my frames/ lens and she was able to order a pair not in office, Which made my day!! My grievance and rating is with the process of receiving my frames. I was told they would be back before the holiday (7 days) however once I called, my order was not going to be back till 10-14 days which was not what I was told. Laura and Angelica was a little combative when I stressed my reasoning for needing my eyewear. I don't feel as if I should have been treated this way and more compassion for the customer should have been the goal instead of trying to be political correct. I think people feel as if COVID has everything to do with delays and no one wants to go the extra mile after you have paid your money. So If your looking to get your eyewear in a hurry, please check with other retailers and get it in writing. read more
