Stepped in last week to see what it would cost to diagnose the loud noise in my vacuum wand. He said he would check it out for free and see what the problem was. Since I had it in the car and he wasn't busy, I brought it in. He checked it out and found a bobby pin stuck in it. Didn't charge me anything and gave me a quick lesson in vacuum economics & buying them second hand (which I have had good success with). Went in 6 Years ago looking at new Vacuum's. Was pretty set on buying a Dyson until he showed me a pile of them in the back of his shop that were trash. Owner sold me a Riccar which I have been very happy with. No problems except today when I couldn't get her started so I called in and all I had to do was hit the reset button lol. He has saved me a trip down to the store and saved me from buying a cheap Vacuum which I probably would have killed by now anyway. After I got my Dyson vacuum back from Bill, it was AS GOOD AS NEW! It was a 6-year old dyson, and the suction was probably about 50% of what it was originally. I never knew that there are several parts needed to be changed our regularly on it. He educated me to how often and what needs to be replaced and did an excellent job. He also cleaned the outside and inside of it, which, to me, is going above and beyond. I would recommend going to Vacuum Express before you buy a new vacuum... it will save you so much money! SO impressed with their customer service! I was gifted with a vacuum that I didn't know anything about. Wasn't familiar with the brand, but didn't want to invest a lot of money in servicing it, if it wasn't a quality item. I was stumped as to where to take it. I read the reviews for both shops in town that services vacuums. I called Vacuum Express because I liked what their reviews said. The very friendly guy that answered the phone, could not have been more invested in my need. Keep in mind, I had never been to his shop...I was not a customer of their business. Yet. He happened to be on another call, so he stayed with me long enough to hear my issue, then asked if he could call me back. Of course I said, but figured I'd never hear back. I went on with my day, only to find a long detailed message from him, stating his candid thoughts on my "free" vacuum. He didn't have to care as much as he did. What a wonderful experience my husband and I had at Vacuum Express. Took our rather old Kirby vacuum in because the cord kept shorting out. In less than 15 minutes they had replaced it, as well as a few other items that were worn out. Expected it to cost far more than it did. Felt like they gave us a Christmas present! Flake alert! I purchased a vacuum from this place about 8 years ago. The owner gave me a great deal on a Miele, plus a promise of free labor for the remainder of its life. I love this vacuum, but it easily tips over and clogs up. The owner has always been awesome in sucking out the dirt and selling me new filters. However, since he retired and his flakey junior now runs the business, and the quality has changed. During my last few visits, after my vacuum flipped and clogged up, the kid didn't really clean the vacuum out, and sold me over priced filters. Because the dirt was still clogging up the machine, it kept quitting on me. Upon my third visit, I was told that I needed a new vacuum. I was told that it wasn't worth fixing in that the new part cost close to $300. He then sold me new filters, again. I love this vacuum and wasn't ready to let it go, so I got a second opinion at Sewing Plus in Escondido, near Costco. Not only was this part under warranty, I was able to have it running again for $100, which included labor and new filters. To my surprise, the repairman found that I needed new filters, one was dirty and the other missing. Which means that Mr. Flakey removed the new filter he had charged me for, and switched the other old one back. I hadn't used the machine since having it looked at by him. I no longer trust this guy, and regardless of the free labor promise on my machine, I won't be back. read more

My wife and I when to Express Vacuum, when our old Riccard vacuum needed a new belt. The owner took our vacuum and started cleaning it, he installed a new belt and bag. I was very impress with his manner and helpfulness. That's when I decided to trade in my old Riccard in and buy a new one. I bought the top of the line and was given a 100 dollars for the old one. He then said he would pay our taxes on the purchase. He also included a life time tuneup, once a year, as long as we own the vacuum. Recently, my wife and I purchased some new Infinity Ultrasoft Premium Carpet for our home. When we tried to use our Dyson vacuum cleaner on it, it was so hard to push, we were exhausted after a few minutes. While doing a search on the Internet, it was apparent that the Dyson would start to damage this type of carpet if we continued to use it, and our bodies would begin to feel the stress of pushing it. It just has too much suction for this type of carpet. We looked on You Tube for reviews of machines that had adjustable height and suction controls, and saw many vacuum retail dealers continually recommending the brands Sebo, Miele, and Riccar for use on the new premium soft carpet. We found Vacuum Express in nearby Temecula, a short drive from Fallbrook. When we talked to Bill Dedich, the owner, he mentioned that the Sebo "Felix" upright might be the perfect machine for our carpet. We had brought a sample of the carpet to the store, and he allowed us to try a new Sebo on it. It worked like a dream. We bought it on the spot. What sets his business apart from most, is that he provides a free service plan for customers who purchase a new full vacuum from him, as well as providing free cleanings, and a free loaner vacuum while yours is being repaired. He also included a box of 8 vacuum bags and an extender wand with our purchase. This was an unexpected surprise. We will be purchasing all our bags and accessories from Bill in the future. It is nice to find someone with honesty and integrity these days. If you need to purchase a vacuum, this is the place. We highly recommend this business. read more

They have excellent service and explained to me exactly what my Kirby needed. They cleaned it out and replaced a part. They showed me that the roller was worn out so I would know why I needed a new one. They didn't charge me for the first bag of belts. They recommend I purchase a universal hose extension rather than the Kirby brand which is a lot more expensive. He also recommended not spending money on a cosmetic repair just to make it look better. Even though they are 45 mins from where I live it was worth my time to go there. read more

The owner seems like a nice guy, but when I went in looking for bags for an old Hoover I have had since early 1980s, he told me they didn't make that type of handheld back then, and suggested it was another brand. I even drew it out for him, and he still insisted it wasn't a Hoover. Then he tried to sell me on a new handheld when all I wanted was a couple bags. He even got a salesman involved and they both told me how they've been in the business for all these years and didn't think mine was a Hoover handheld. Well, it is a Hoover, it's a Handivac II but I guess they know better. I eventually left, and I bought six bags elsewhere for the same price he was trying to sell one to me. I won't be back. My advice is don't tell potential customers they're wrong when you don't have all the answers yourself, and don't try to upsell just because you don't have what your customer wants. Be open minded, and if someone says they have something, they probably do because, well, they have it, you don't. read more

My vacuum cleaner belt broke so I went to Sears to get a new one (got the wrong one though). Got home, had difficulty putting the cover back on so I called Vacuum Express. He told me to come in, told me I had the wrong belt. He put a new belt in while I was waiting. Took all of 5 minutes. Great service. Update 6/25/13 took the vacuum in to be looked at and get its one year free check-up. as i was waiting, Bill had a customer bring in a broken Electrolux vacuum purchased for $15 at a yard sale. the broken part plus labor was going to cost the customer $80. but Bill noticed other problems with the vacuum and informed the customer that the cost of fixing the vacuum was going to run into the hundreds and advised her to not spend the money trying to fix the used vacuum. he literally talked himself out of $80. why? because he's honest and fair. what more could you want in a small business? our vacuum still runs great and we don't regret our purchase at all. thanks Bill for your great service! read more
