Very disappointed and angry with the way everything went with my hair. I wanted to get an all over color done for my mother's wedding in July. I wanted a mushroom brown color, which is like a light version of brown with a cool tone. The treatment had to be pushed literally the day before my mom's wedding because somebody got Covid over there. The lady who did my hair looked unsure of herself. When I showed her The picture of what I wanted, she came back with ONE hair sample swatch. it was a brassy blonde color. I looked at it and said it looks kind of brassy and she literally said nothing and went back into the staff room. When she was bleaching my hair, The chemicals was hurting my scalp so bad, that I was getting headaches and I felt a burning sensation all over my scalp. Honestly it was unbearable, but I pushed through. When she was finally done it took quite a few hours and when I looked at my hair, I was very speechless. But not in a happy way. It looked green brassy and really orange sometimes in the light. I asked if I could see it in another room because I couldn't tell what I was looking at. The room was very dim. We went to some back studio with lights, but I still couldn't see what kind of hair color I had since it was still dark. But it was still very brassy and I even told her that. It was late into the night so she couldn't really do much more to fix it since my mom's wedding was literally in the morning. I was so disappointed, but I said we could just fix this afterwards. She worked for hours on my hair still and I tipped her over $70 and I even bought shampoo and conditioner for my hair treatment. We scheduled for highlights to see if they could do more to fix it. I was very unsure and just said "sure" because I didn't want conflict. That night, my Scalp was burning and would wake me up because I noticed that she didn't wash off all the chemical from my scalp I felt so ugly during the wedding, especially in front of all my family from both sides. they would ask me about my hair. No one seem to like it and they all thought it looked green. I called back and told them I was unhappy with my hair and I wanted to be fixed because it just doesn't look good. I sent them a photo of my hair and they said they would fix it and that the girl who did my hair was inexperienced with color dye. And these are words from the lady on the phone and not from me. So I went back in earlier date and they did two purple toners on my hair. Free of charge. Which was nice of them. But my hair still looked bad and had that brassy color and not what I wanted. And the ladies were saying how you're never going to get exactly what you wanted. Etc. and one of them even suggested to bleach my hair again but the girl who did my hair didn't look like she wanted to do anything else because I have such thick hair. So I asked if we could just maybe do this some other time after I come back from my vacation in about a week. They agreed and I left still disappointed. But after spending a lot of money and going back-and-forth, I thought about how this hair process shouldn't have been so difficult. So I asked them if I could just get a refund, because I didn't feel confident with them anymore. After that, they became very hostile and told me that if I wanted a refund I should've asked a week after I got my hair done originally. But I wasn't thinking about refunds at the time and just wanted it fix. They made me wait a week to do the toners because they couldn't give me any other day that went with my schedule. So I was screwed about the week policy. no one told me about this policy because I would've definitely have asked right then and there. I was just too nice and just wanted my hair to be fixed at the time instead of thinking of a refund. They told me that only the owner could refund after the week policy. So I asked if I could talk to the owner and they kept making excuses as to why she wasn't available. I told them to make her call me when she is available because the manager was very rude and not helpful at all and snippy with me. Well guess what? I never got a call back and it's been over two months. They just took my money and ignored me once I complained about the services. If I was here to scam them. I wouldn't have tipped the girl almost $70 of tips and bought two hair salon Products over $40. I never asked for the tip back or the shampoos. I eventually had my friend convince me to fix my hair and guess what? it only needed one more toner with a lilac glow to fix it to what I was looking for. the ladies at the salon told me if I put another toner in my hair it was gonna look like my original hair? Well guess what? It got to the color I was looking for! Some one there lied to my credit card Company and said I was satisfied with my hair and I chose my color from a bunch of swatches? never happened? So buyer beware!! because honestly they just took my money and ignored me and I wish I never gone to them. read more

My stylist is Jenifer and she always does an amazing job whether I'm getting my hair cut, colored, or just styled. We're laughing the whole time she's working on my hair because we also have great conversation! And she always includes recommendations for products but is NEVER pushy about insisting you buy them. I used to go here for just a cut but the pricing is too much. $60 plus tip for a cut, no wash or blow drying, just a cut. The stylist was great and I would have gotten a wash if they had products with less chemicals but they don't. The stylist tried to ask for a lower price for just the cut but the owner/manager wanted to charge me for the wash as well. (greedy) Anyways, I found a guy who cuts my hair for $15 plus tip and am very satisfied with the overall experience there. read more

So on a late night seach for a salon that would be open the next day, I found Utopia salon and booked an appointment with Gillian, it was the best decision I've made for my hair yet! I had the worst experience at Utopia Salon. I walked in with long hair well past my shoulders and walked out with an uneven, shoulder-length 70s shag. I almost look like I have a mullet. I sobbed when I got home! I don't understand what happened. I gave very specific instructions to my hairstylist, Jen, to trim my hair in the same style - 2 inches from the length and to keep the layers long. Instead, Jen cut off about 5 inches from the length and gave me very small layers throughout. I even showed her several photos of what I wanted. It will take at least a year, probably more, to grow out my hair. It's the worst haircut I've ever had in my life! On top of that, Jen was supposed to freshen up my balayage highlights, but instead colored my hair in a monochromatic dark brown. Stay away from this place! I complained to management about Jen, but they either didn't believe me or didn't care (I sent them photos as proof). I selected Jen because of her good reviews on Google so I can't help but think that she cut my hair the way she wanted it to look (perhaps out of spite - yes, it happens, people project their anger, jealousy, unhappiness, etc. in so many weird, passive aggressive ways). Utopia employs a lot of "new talent", which means inexperienced stylists, and yet they advertise their salon as "the best in Clark County" or some such nonsense. Run from this place, especially if you have long hair like I had. Utopia's inexperienced stylists will chop it all off because they don't know what they're doing, and I have a feeling they are not supervised. To Utopia management, don't send a shaming response to my review. I asked for a simple apology, an admission of Jen's mistakes, and an offer to fix my hair at a discount once it had grown out. but instead the manager I corresponded with via email called my experience a "miscommunication" and offered a measly 20% off of balayage.
