It felt foreign and I would often feel quite uncomfortable. For my elopement ceremony last summer, I wanted to look like myself, except with better skin. I wanted to be comfortable with myself. Anny's portfolio was appealing to me, because it had a variety of looks, including the "natural look", the one I wanted. We had a super intimate ceremony over brunch. The venue was great, but didn't give us a lot of extra time to prepare. Anny and Andy came through! With Anny on make-up and Andy on hair, they made my mother and I feel beautiful and natural, and they did it in record time. I was comfortable the entire day. And yes, I felt pretty on my wedding day.

I completely understand addressing a missed appointment and holding clients accountable for scheduling policies. That is fair. What was unnecessary was the rude and dismissive way it was handled. It is unfortunate because the space itself is nice and the quality of the work is generally good, but I will not continue supporting a business where I feel mistreated for making an honest mistake.

I previously worked in the medical field as well as at a medspa. During the pandemic I quickly realized that I needed a new career path. My passion has always been to help or make people feel good about themselves inside and out. A Light bulb struck! I can turn my passion into reality by attending Cedars Academy and becoming certified as well as getting paid for doing what I love to do! I learned all the tools to start my own makeup business as well as new makeup techniques, brush handling, sanitation and much more.. Cedars Instructors are all so phenomenal! I love the flow of the studio, it is so organized and beautifully put together. I love that the instructors are attentive, give constructive feedback, and meticulous attention to detail (important for bbp).The instructors really take the time to work with you to ensure you understand and learn what you struggle with. The team at Cedars Academy answered all my questions/ helped me with any concerns even after completion of my courses. I learned what I'd hoped to learn and then some. This course exceeded my expectations! I was thoroughly taught a variety of information, from sanitation, color theory, to application, and even how to ideally position my body while working on clients. I appreciated Cedar and the instructors for their attention to detail, clear visuals, and willingness to answer any questions, as they instructed. The course is beginner friendly, even for those with no prior beauty experience. Overall, thankful for Cedars Academy makeup courses this was TOP NOTCH! My review got taken down... Here I go again…read more DO NOT GET EYELASH EXTENSIONS HERE!!! By far the worst experience of my life! A complete waste of money and time. I never would have tipped had I known the lashes wouldn't even last the day! Horrible experience at Bella by Jolena... When the adhesive was applied to my left eye it burned! It was extremely uncomfortable. The lady then decided to use a different adhesive on my right eye, which went on fine. Afterwards, I asked if using two different adhesives would affect how they set. She mentioned the right side might not last as long. She then had the audacity to say if they come off on the right side I can come in next week and pay $50 to get them fixed. Really? Shouldn't I be able to come in for FREE???!!! What a concept, huh? Well, my lashes didn't even make it a couple days for my sister's wedding. The same day lashes begun falling off. A couple days after, over half of them were completely gone and looked RIDICULOUS. My makeup artist still managed to make me look beautiful, but I was furious at the results I got. I told her to NEVER recommend them to her clients if anyone needs eyelash extensions. Fast forward 7 days... I have to get them removed. There are soooo many patches because of missing lashes and it's humiliating being out in public. Perhaps, Bella by Jolena is awesome for other services, but if you need lashes go somewhere else! Worst experience!!!

The owner and her employers are all very, very sweet but unfortunately they aren't very good at…read morelash extensions. They use so much adhesive that your eyes will burn like crazy. I asked for natural lashes and they were so long and flat it looked like I was about to star in a vegas show. The end pieces near the corners of my eyes were also glued halfway off of the lash so you could see the extension dangling. I contacted them and they fixed the dangling pieces. Overall, they just don't have the skills to do lash extensions. Since then I have been to another lash place in portland and did not experience any eye burning like I did at jolena and my lash girl said that she can see that they used way too much adhesive. I would give one star for the lashes but gave two stars for how nice they are.
