I went in earlier on a Friday as requested. A woman was still being worked on. Then a woman came in 10 minutes early so I did not get my full time. It was my 1st time getting PMU. I waited the 4 weeks for it to heal & didn't wake up beautiful! My friends thought Marcy used a sharpie pen on me. The line length on 1 eye did not match the other. The bottom left line is thin/uneven vs. Right is super thick. I picked a "popular" style off the wall that ended up looking nothing like it. My friends said, "what happened to you? It looks horrid. Really bad. Nasty." Also, Marcy said a blood vessel was hit, as the reason my eyelid is now partially blue. However, I consulted some 5 star PMU artists & they said it was because the needle was held at the wrong angle. They said it's 50/50 if a person needs to come back a 2nd time. Where as Marcy insists it's always a 2 part process. I almost think that's why she made some of the lines shorter, so they could be fixed the 2nd time. No thanks. read more

The touch up was as same as the first, gloppy and the ink fell out after it healed. I came in with my sister and sister in law, all 3 of us had the same results, so it was not a coincidence with just me. Marcy tried to say we never came back for our touch up, trying to cover up for her poor work. It was very painful and when we (all three) tried to get her to stop and she said no, almost done. First of all, my mom's PERMANENT eyeliner bled... now my mom is stuck with smeared blue above her eye- and it hasn't faded! Secondly, my mom's experience was horrific... for example, the ink got in her eye (painful) and she wasn't completely numb (extremely painful). She expressed both major concerns to Patti, but Patti didn't do anything about it. It's a great price, but you pay a price... I would never recommend this place even if it were free. read more

I did a Groupon. I've had my upper lids done before and needed them touched up, but bought the full upper and lower Eyeliner. Twice I've done it before, and the touch up later was included. It was even included when I did my eyebrows with someone else. First, the price actually cost me more than her regular price if I need a touch up. Eight dollars more, plus tax for the second visit. All around my lids are bright red and still sore. (Other times the second day I was fine). I had upper and lower liner done by Marcy in July 2014 and it was not what I was expecting at all. The liner was uneven with different thicknesses and blob like formations. My lower liner was way too far under the lash line so I looked like my eyes were droopy. Having had perfectly good eyes before this procedure I was devastated and resigned to applying thick liner every day despite having liner I was supposed to "wake up beautiful" in. Once I felt I was completely healed (about three months later) I had this makeup touched up by another local business and it is now liveable, but not amazing because I still have the largest flaws showing like a smudge underneath the great work that was done to fix it. The other business told me I was one of ten within the last month coming to get fixes after going to Wake Up Beautiful. There are large banner type signs by the road now and I think this business is still around because no one trusts them to fix the mistakes. I do not claim to be an expert in the area of tattoos (side note: 75% of my body is tattooed). However, I would think if one was to tattoo close to the tear duct there may be a problem. I wanted the second session to fill in where it was obvious that ink was missing (hoping she would not of gone pass the eyelash line). I do not appreciate the implication that you all are quick to blame the client and take no responsibility yourselves. When one is tattooing with a hand held needle if you will, there is more room for error. However, when I mentioned this it appeared to be a shock of imformation. I had an amazing experience at Wake Up Beautiful! I had my upper and lower eyeliner tattooed! The tattoo artist is Marcy Harris who has previously been a nurse for 10 years. I am a nurse myself and when I heard that and read reviews I was definitely impressed! My eyeliner looks amazing! I have never had more compliments about my "makeup" when I'm not wearing any ! If you're going to get your makeup tattooed on go to Marcy! Don't get me wrong it did hurt but she put a numbing ointment called lidocaine on my lids and had it sit for 7 minutes. After the upper eyelids were done it didn't hurt anymore. My eyelids got swollen on day 2 and 3 and then looked back to normal and amazing! I am getting my touch up in 3 weeks to make it thicker. I was pleased with Marcy's knowledge and expertise in doing my upper/lower eyeliner. This is something I've always wanted to do but had put it off because of cost and fear of pain. However, Marcy had a great deal going on which is one reason I had my eyeliner done. She numbs the lids before beginning the process but to be honest it is definitely not painless. I would say it is very uncomfortable but tolerable. I did have some swelling that began to go down after day three. During the healing process the color is very black but it soon fades down to a nice dark smokey color with a tinge of blue which is what I wanted. After the first appointment I was disappointed because most of the pigment flaked away. I texted Marcy who was very understanding and reassuring saying that this is normal for the first application as your body heals. That is why a touch up appointment is necessary. I was hoping I wouldn't have to need the touch-up as I was leaving for England to stay with my boyfriend and wanted to "wake up beautiful", that was the plan and the timing was cutting it very close. However, so much pigment had flaked off I had to get that touch-up 3 days before I was to fly to England. Ugh! I was still swollen when I had to take off but still passed customs as recognizable, lol (it wasn't that bad). Marcy was completely right, it made all the difference and after the touch-up there was no flaking; all the pigment stayed. I'm happy to report I did wake up beautiful! I do add a pencil or liquid liner for a slightly thicker line, but that is personal preference not a reflection of the quality of the permanent liner. I'm glad I finally had it done. I had a VERY bad botched experience with someone in San Diego before I moved here. After "fixing" it 2x, I still had to wear concealor everyday to cover up black spots that were messed up on my eyes!! Patti didnt seem upset & did amazing job fixing the errors! And this really is amazingly pain free! My first experience was with a tatoo machine and was extremely painful! Worse than regular tatoos) (And no one told me you shouldnt do anything like this close to giving birth.) Patti is so nice and so caring, making sure the whole time that you are comfortable. All I can say is Wow!! From the moment I walked in the door until the moment I left, I felt very well taken care of. Marcy is amazing!! She listened to my detailed description of how I wanted my eyeliner and eyebrows done. She was patient and asked questions to make sure she understood what I wanted. She was gentle and very knowledgeable. Learning that she was previously an RN also aided in my confidence of her ability to ensure sanitary precautions were taken seriously. Marcy was really nice as far as personality but my permanent eyeliner procedure was painful despite her putting a "numbing" cream on. I experienced bleeding and scabing afterwards. My eyelids were so swollen and painful for several days following the procedure. It was embarrassing because I looked so bad. I was very disappointed in the results because the liner was uneven-my right liner was faint and my left one was dark in some spots and light in other spots. When I came back for the touch up which costed extra, it was the same, I felt every prick of the needle and it resulted in one liner light and one liner uneven. It made me feel bad when I went in a third time to show her and she said it's unusual and touched up again which resulted in no improvements. I have to use black eyeliner everyday over the permanent eyeliner to look decent. I regret doing this and sore about it every time I look in the mirror. I plan on redoing this somewhere else more professional who can guarantee to make it right. I'm not sure if I can find the courage to do it again though. read more

I always had really strange eyebrows which made me pluck them to the worst. I had been thinking about getting my eyebrows done for quite some time but I was always scared because of all the botched stories you read on the internet, the pictures you would see, and the fact that its permanent and cant take it off. I did my research and Marcy came out on top. I'm in law school and let me tell you they teach you some very good ways of researching people so I put it to use. I really liked Marcy. I called with questions and she even let me sit in on a procedure and after watching that I was sold and made an appointment in the next couple of days. She did a great job! She numbs you but you can still feel it a little, not bad or anything though. Now I don't have to worry about my eyebrows washing off when I go swimming or wiping them off during my workout. I can go to bed and wake up and still have eyebrows which is the best thing ever. They look totally natural and I couldn't be happier. My family loves them and says it's the best thing I could have done for myself (since I constantly had to fill them in myself). I would definitely recommend Marcy to anyone wanting a great job. She is super nice and friendly and makes you feel at ease. Your eyebrows will look big, dark, and bold the first time you get them done because of some swelling and the color is darker at first but it goes down a lot. That was something that I was worried about because I didn't think it would go down but nevertheless, it did. Anyway, I can't say anymore great things about Marcy- she's wonderful and I would totally go again and recommend others do it sooner than later! read more

I had my upper and lower eyeliner tattooed a year ago by Patti. I have been very unhappy with the results. The lines are uneven and the color looks bluish not black like I wanted. Also, I have a blob near my inner tear duck line on one eye. Both eyes look different. I can never go without applying eyeliner over the existing crappy eyeliner that I had tattooed. I went back twice for touch-ups. Hoping it would improve. Upper and lower are very spotty it's not even a solid line. I was going to go back for a third touch up but I was so afraid it would get worse than it already was that I decided to save my money. She charged me for both touch-ups and wanted to charge me for the 3rd as well. They obviously are hurting for business when they constantly have a Groupon out for make up tattooing. Some of the before and after's and the examples they have on their website are taken from Pinterest. Also, I was not impressed with their aftercare instructions or lack there of.
