She spent about half our time drawing the perfect eyebrows for my face, educated me along the way of the choices she made, and made me feel at ease for my first permanent make-up application. Not going to lie, I went into this with quite a bit of trepidation. I'm in my early 60s and have been losing definition in my brows for years. I've had to fill in my brows daily and never been happy with the results. Well update. I did get the powder brows but I wish I had done more homework and found someone who could do black and wish I'd done the nano brows. Once healed my brows are an orange-brown. Completed: Lash line enhancement - There is no input from the client needed on this as the pigment goes directly into the lash line. The width depends on the number of rows of lashes, deep. Four rows of lashes deep have a thicker line than those with one. I am sharing this info, because I did not know this when going in for my appt. So I would like to preface my review by saying that I was very anxious to go through the process of having my eyebrows microbladed (I ended up getting combo brows). But I waited to provide a review until after the entire process was complete to see how things turned out. Here we go The day I went in for the initial service, I was shaking. I had done all of my research about microblading, combo brows, the healing process, and the fact that it would not look immediately how it's going to look after the brows have healed. I felt confident that I was going to the right place and I'd made the right decision. The waiting room is super cute and decorated with vintage style decorum. It's very comfortable when you walk in and courtney's presence made me feel at ease regardless of my nerves. Courtney was very accommodating and before we started we had a conversation and she made an extra point to mention that because I have lighter hair/skin, the initial service would be more dramatic right after as compared to when the eyebrows are fully healed. I confirmed that I understood this and then we started. To start, she did a mapping of the exact shape that my brows would be formed into. She showed me and would ask if there's anything I wanted to change, but I trusted her judgement with the shape because I've consistently had the propensity to over estimate the size of my brows (ie why I got them done). Also, the outlining will make it look like the brows will be bigger than they are. I was shocked at first when she showed me, but trust me that you shouldnt judge until after your brows are healed. The outlining looks bigger than what they're be. Also, I was afraid it would hurt. I have tattoos so I thought maybe it would feel in some slight way like a tattoo even though I knew there would be numbing cream. This is not comparable to tattoo pain and you'll barely feel it. So I wouldnt worry about the pain bc there honestly isn't any. So about an hour went by, and we're all done. Court hands me the mirror and my heart drops. I feel sick. I was not expecting to see what I saw, but I looked completely different at first and the shock was hard to get over. Courtney could tell that I was in shock so she reassured me that it's entirely normal for them to look larger/much bolder right away. The warm undertones of the ink is also more apparent when you get the initial service as opposed to after they heal, so they looked pretty red at first. Again, I have very very fair skin and dirty blonde hair, so my eyebrows are naturally a lighter ash brown color. I went home feeling slightly apprehensive, but also hopeful and trying to remain optimistic in reminding myself of all the research I had done. Regardless of my efforts to reassure myself before that it would look different after it's healed, I don't think you can truly do anything to prepare yourself for the sheer shock of seeing yourself after freshly microbladed brows (especially when you've had tiny brows your whole life). It's definitely enough to throw you into a tizzy. I was also pmsing so kinda just on edge. Anyway.. Flashforward to today and I just had my touch-up done since things reopened after the quarantine. I LOVE my eyebrows. After they healed fully I was in love. I sent pics to friends/family and they all told me that the shape looked really good. I think I was just so used to seeing such skinny brows that seeing anything different is really shocking. Moral of the story, trust the process. Courtney's a professional and she'll be there to give moral support too if you have a little meltdown like I did. And at the end of the day your brows look amazing without having to wear makeup.
