Since then, my impression from speaking to other permanent make up practices is that perhaps he does not do this procedure very often. Sure, better numbing agent probably would've helped. But green pus out of both eyes? Had to see an opthalmologist, so this procedure got more expensive. Would've been better off seeing someone who cost more but had more experience. He operated out of beauty salon off of Macadam. He has an OHSU logo on his website and after I checked with the department of Dermatology at OHSU, he has no affiliation with them.

Vivian was incredibly clear and upfront about the lip blushing process, including the fact that it can be more intense than eyeliner or brows. For me, that was true, though I know it varies by person. My first pass healed lighter than I wanted, and at my follow-up Vivian really listened. She made sure I was thoroughly numbed and adjusted the color to a richer shade that I love. She also explained that some lips simply don't retain pigment as easily, which was reassuring and helpful to understand. Healing was easy, and I'm excited to see how the color continues to settle over the next few weeks. What really stands out to me about this studio is how kind, attentive, and thoughtful all of the artists are. One consistent approach I've noticed is that they intentionally go lighter at first, which makes total sense. You can always deepen the color at the follow-up, and it avoids ending up with something too intense. Overall, another great experience and I couldn't be happier with the care and results.

At my appointment, I was told that most clients are happy after just two sessions, usually needing only needing a touch-up during the second session. However, when I reached out about my concerns, I was informed that I might need up to three sessions. I've seen $400 tattoos that look stunning, but my simple circle around the nipple unfortunately looks uneven and lacks a polished finish. I even mentioned some unevenness during the appointment, and the artist reassured me it was just swelling. Once that went down, it became clear that the unevenness remained. Given the amount I paid and what I was told beforehand, I expected to receive a decently done tattoo with maybe just a little adjustment needed. Instead, I feel like I got a result that falls short, and now I'm uncertain about how many more sessions it might take to get it right.
