Working with Anny and her partner Andy was a dream from start to finish, even amidst all the uncertainty of COVID regulations and the usual stress of planning a wedding. I really appreciated the smooth communication all the way through - they were so kind and patient with all my questions and concerns. Anny and Andy are both very talented and precise. They have ALL the skills and dedication to make you look and feel beautiful. I was looking for a really natural makeup look, and an updo with lots of texture. I was definitely nervous about the makeup piece since I basically don't wear much more than mascara, but Anny nailed it - I felt weightless and beautiful and most of all like MYSELF the entire day. My hair was a work of art as well - I hope Andy is proud of what he created because I LOVED it. I have to also mention that the two of them have a great dynamic - they work very smoothly together and definitely made me feel at ease, and when my wedding day arrived they were just the calming presence I needed. Could not have wished for more. read more

This review is long overdue! I had a secret wedding, so I didn't want to out myself. Well, now it's out. Having my face all done up actually makes me feel really insecure. I don't own or wear make-up, so for events, I have to go get it done. Oh, and I've had it DONE! Even with the compliments, I hated it because I didn't look like myself. It felt foreign and I would often feel quite uncomfortable. For my elopement ceremony last summer, I wanted to look like myself, except with better skin. I wanted to be comfortable with myself. Anny's portfolio was appealing to me, because it had a variety of looks, including the "natural look", the one I wanted. We had a super intimate ceremony over brunch. The venue was great, but didn't give us a lot of extra time to prepare. Anny and Andy came through! With Anny on make-up and Andy on hair, they made my mother and I feel beautiful and natural, and they did it in record time. I was comfortable the entire day. And yes, I felt pretty on my wedding day. read more

Anny and Andy are an awesome team! For my wedding, I wanted a natural, soft, a little glam look, and Anny fulfilled all my vision and wants! I felt like she made me look and FEEL beautiful, while still feeling like myself! My mom, mother in-law, and everyone gave me so many compliments for my make up and hair! And speaking of hair, I danced all night, and my hair and hair piece stayed in-tact the whole night thanks to Andy! I brought pictures of what I wanted my hair to look at, and Andy did an amazing job to recreate what I wanted! He even cut my hair to make sure the front was a perfect length! All I can say is that these two will go above and beyond to make you look and feel amazing for your special day! read more

Anny and Andy are so great. I recently moved to Portland and was looking, sort of last minute, for hair and makeup for my October wedding. They happened to be available and I am so glad I stumbled across Anny's IG and it worked out. They did full hair and makeup for myself, both my mom and mother in law and my 7 year old daughter. My mother in law was so happy with the way they both made her look and feel she had tears when they finished and my mom looked gorgeous and just like herself which was exactly what I wanted. I can't recommend them more highly. read more

I wanted to look natural and feel like myself on my wedding day (and also have my husband recognize me... that was also essential) I met Anny virtually and we connected in person when I had my trial. She has a great personality and we connected instantly. We talked about her dog Rambo and her spontaneous hair colors! I was able to tell her what I liked and what I would like tweaked. My eyelashes are non-existent and to have false ones put on felt foreign and strange. Anny reassured me that it just took some time getting used to and even suggested we use the individual lashes, so it wouldn't feel as heavy (that's what I went with) I am generally a very worrisome person; I worried about mascara running down my face, lashes falling off, or that my blush would fade etc. Guess what...?? NONE OF THAT HAPPENED. My bridesmaids (all 5 of them) also loved their looks and raved about it all day. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Anny and her work. I'm hoping to find any excuse to get glammed by her soon! read more

I was the coordinator for a wedding that Anny Chow Bridal provided hair and makeup services for in May 2022. Highly recommend! Anny's team kept things running on time, which is such a help on a wedding day, and everyone who got hair and makeup done looked excellent. I look forward to working together again soon. read more

Amazing! I absolutely loved the way she did my makeup and hair. I loved how I still looked like myself and that was the most important thing to me. Her makeup is very natural and I highly recommend her to everyone. She's also very nice and personable and she totally understood what I wanted. And at the times when I wasn't sure of what I wanted, she also gave suggestions which I completely agreed with. She spent alot of time with me at my trials. My makeup was fairly quick to decide on, but because I had super long and thick hair which was previously chemically straightened, it took much longer to curl. She was really patient with my hair. On the day of my wedding, she came early in the morning to fix me up. I completely loved everything she did. Despite all the stresses of wedding planning, I went through the day feeling happy, knowing my face and hair looked good. Cuz 10 years down the line, it's your pictures that matter! read more

What can I say . . . Anny is great! I needed my makeup done for some professional headshots and thankfully she was able to squeeze me in. I was a little worried because I don't usually wear makeup and I was afraid that I would end up looking "over-done" or unnatural. But I had nothing to worry about. Anny applied my makeup so skillfully that it didn't feel heavy or awkward and it was flawless in the photos. I am so thankful that I found both Anny and Andy (I hope I can find him to leave him a separate glowing review). They are both amazing. THANK YOU so much! read more

Anny is the best! My makeup for the wedding was amazing and she did a great job of my hair as well - both the updo and reception look. I'm so glad that I chose Anny :) A side note that my makeup still stayed on even after crying at the first look and ring exchange haha. Highly recommend! read more

As many others here have said, you cannot go wrong booking Anny and Andy for your wedding makeup and hair! They are the ultimate professionals, nothing was overdone and everyone (my mom, sisters, maids and my own hair/makeup) looked natural and beautiful. I don't wear lots of makeup and really didn't want to look like someone else on my wedding day - they understood and delivered. Andy even helped me create a beautiful "vintage" style updo with flowers tucked in. I was a bit late scheduling my hair and makeup for my wedding (a month out...) but Anny wasn't phased, she got me a quote, proposal and scheduled a trial asap as soon as I reached out. The trial was great and we only tweaked it a little bit for the wedding. These two are fantastic - helpful, friendly, professional and calm, and most of all, really great at what they do. Exactly what you want on your big day! read more

AMAZING experience! Anny and Andy are such a dynamic duo team that made my special day so magical and memorable. When I was planning for my nyc wedding, I had a very short time to plan. It was so hard for me to choose makeup and hair service because I am very picky with makeup and I have to make sure that it is natural clean makeup. When I saw Annys portfolio on Instagram I knew That she can give me what I want. They are so patient during my makeup and hair trial, working with me to finalize the look I wanted. On the day of, they arrived early, very focused and kept everyone on time for their photoshoot. My mom and in law and bridesmaids were all very very very pleased with their look and the service. They were also very timely when it comes to touchup and hair change for my reception. Everyone has been complimenting on how great I looked and I highly recommend Anny chow hair and makeup to all brides to be! read more

Anny and Andy were wonderful to work with!! They did hair and makeup for my wedding. Both of them listened to what I wanted and then asked questions to clarify what I REALLY wanted! I wasn't wanting to travel to get my hair and make up done. Anny and Andy came to where I was and made it so simple to get not only my hair and make up done, but also one of my Maids of Honor as well. It was fantastic to have such a calming presence when getting ready. The conversation was lighthearted. A perfect combination of efficiency and connection. The results were beyond what I had envisioned. Thank you Anny and Andy!!!! I throughly enjoyed my time with you. -Dawn read more

I had the honor of having Anny Chow and Andy Tseng do my wedding makeup and hair in July 2021 and I could not recommend a better duo! From my very first email correspondence with Anny, I was refreshed with her promptness, efficiency, and professionalism, all while being kind and personable. I booked my makeup and hair trial to be on the day of my bridal shower so that I could look great for the shindig and it was a great decision. I tend to have a very natural to a no makeup look and find it challenging to find words to describe what I like and want. I brought a few images of what I wanted for both makeup and hair and Anny and Andy were great at talking them through with me. They asked me all the right questions to make sure that they understood what I liked and took the time to describe how a look would be on my skin type or my hair length. I really appreciated that they took the time to make sure we were all on the same page, because as it turned out there were tweeks that I wanted to change! After my trial, they made note of bringing down certain colors of makeup and also made the changes so that I could walk out of their studio feeling great for my bridal shower! I am a person that can have a hard time speaking up for what I want and am worried about hurting people feelings. Anny created the space with her professionalism and kindness so that saying that I wanted to change aspects of the look during my trial was the most normal and easy thing for me to do. Anny and Andy are also downright sweet and lovely to get to know and chat with during all the times sitting in their chair! On the wedding day, they traveled out to my location in the hot summer morning and made my bridal party, the mothers, and myself look and feel our best! They were so much fun to be around, they were on time and helped us map out how much time each person needed for their looks. The mothers, both nervous about getting hair and makeup done, felt like an enhanced version of themselves, never feeling like makeup and hair was 'too much' or 'too young.' My maid of honor's hair was an especially fun chic Pony Tail look and Andy absolutely killed! You will not be disappointed by booking your hair and makeup for any big occasion by choosing to have Anny and Andy beautify you and your loved ones! read more

Anny and Andy are awesome! They are funny, kind, and patient. We had a ball at my trial, and when I decided to adjust my look for my wedding, it was no problem. They arrived early/on time wedding morning, and were very helpful throughout (zipping up, "we need scissors", touch ups). My wedding party enjoyed working with them, too, and they were very happy with their results as well. Highly recommend :) read more

Anny is seriously talented, incredibly reliable and SO much fun! She came with us to Cancun for a destination wedding, did 6 people's makeup on time and it looked absolutely amazing. I could not have asked for a better artist or companion during a such a stressful time. She takes pride in her work and it definitely shows, everyone looked like themselves but much, much better lol. My bridesmaids all loved her as well! Even the ones who were hesitant about getting their makeup done by someone else were taking tons of pics. THANK YOU ANNY!!!!! read more

Not even sure where to begin with Anny and Andy... To put it simply, PWC is lucky to have her there and NYC will miss her greatly. My friend hired Anny and Andy in 2016 for her wedding and after that, she did the make up for 4-5 other weddings in our circle of friends, including my own in 2018 because we knew quality work when we saw it. She is so easy to talk to and extremely professional. She listens to what you want and like and delivers it 110%. I'm lucky to have had her beautify me for my wedding and you'll be missing out if you don't hire Anny and Andy. read more

Anny and Andy made me feel like my most beautiful self on my wedding day. I had a few makeup trials, but Anny blew every other MUA out of the water. She enhanced my featured and made me look natural and effortless, but more importantly I still looked like myself and felt even more amazing. Andy is also a miracle worker. He lifted my usually flat and lifeless hair and pulled it back into the perfect, natural low bun. I am forever grateful to Anny and Andy for making me look and feel like the best version of myself on my wedding day! read more

I chose Anny for my wedding because she has a point of view. When I met her for my trial I showed her a photo of my dress and told her the venue where I was getting married and she had great ideas for putting my look together. It is clear she is an artist and is inspired by her clients' personalities. Having a summer wedding, I appreciated her expertise in make-up application as well as the best hairstyle for a warm day. After a disastrous trial with another MUA who was heavy-handed it was so refreshing to work with Anny on a natural look. I wanted to feel like myself on my wedding day but she definitely made me look and feel even better. Anny also did my mom and my sister's hair and makeup; each of us had different looks and Anny was able to make us all look and feel like our best selves. She is versatile, easy to work with, and professional. I definitely recommend choosing her! I had such a great experience with Anny, that I even hired her to help me put together my look for a wedding where I was just a guest. read more

I'm not a girl that wears a ton of makeup, so was really panicked about not looking like myself on my wedding day. After meeting Anny as a bridesmaid for another friends wedding... I knew I wanted her to do my wedding makeup. To say I was happy is an understatement. I have never felt more beautiful! It was weightless, I was so comfortable, and it stayed on all night. Anny was also so much fun to have at our house getting ready. She did my full wedding party and everyone looked amazing! She got along with all my bridesmaids and was a pleasure to be around. I highly recommend Anny!!! read more

Anny and Andy were awesome to work with. They brought each and every look together perfectly for the bridal party, and were open to offering suggestions. Where to even begin with the Amazing Anny and Andy?! My friend started the trend by hiring them for her wedding back in 2016, and we (literally all our friends, myself included) never looked back! I recently hired Anny and Andy for my own wedding on April 28, 2019. They are the ultimate dream team!! They're always on time and always take into account what you like/don't like and the overall feel of the event. They're true professionals and are amazing to work with. They go above and beyond in everything they do and of course, I would hire them again in the future! Hire them :) you won't regret it! read more

I came to Anny after a disastrous trial with a different artist. I was very anxious since my wedding was less than a month away, and all the artists I contacted either took an extremely long time to return my messages, or were unwilling to make a firm commitment to my date in case more lucrative opportunities presented themselves. In contrast, Anny was easy to communicate with and perfectly willing to sign a contract. I'm so happy I chose Anny to prepare me for my wedding. Her personality is very easygoing and laidback, and I had great chemistry with her. During the trial she was able to grasp the look I was going for even when I struggled to define it (I don't wear makeup normally, so I don't have a lot of vocabulary or knowledge around it). The end result was like night and day compared to my first trial. I looked like an enhanced version of myself, which is what I was hoping for. When the big day came, Anny arrived promptly, worked quickly and efficiently even with my poor apartment lighting, and was just such a calming presence overall. This was super helpful since I had a tight schedule between getting home from my hair appointment and leaving for City Hall on time, and I had my bridesmaid chattering away/distracting me while she was doing her hair in my bathroom! I loved the way I looked, and my husband couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful I was, which made everything worth it. I owe it all to Anny and her skills and talent! Thank you again, Anny! read more

I used Anny and Andy's services on my big day this past Sunday and I could not have ask for a better dream team. Anny is very detailed and takes her time to listen to you. I went to many trials before choosing Anny, and she was worth the wait. Andy is an expert with hair. All my bridesmaids wanted a different hairstyle and Andy delivered exactly what they asked for. I myself changed my hair a couple times during the day and he managed to stay on schedule and made my hair look great every time! Absolutely adore Anny! I recommended Anny for a wedding party I was in after working with her on a fashion shoot. She absolutely did not disappoint. She Is professional calm and really understands what you your inspiration for your look is. I have been in weddings and have always felt that the makeup looks so unnatural and over the top. She's the sweetest and so calm admits all the craze of weddings . Her ability to to work on all skin tones and make it look so natural is phenomenal ! Highly recommended. read more

What is there to say that hasn't been said already? If you're going for the "i want to look like me but more beautiful" look, Anny's the one to hire! She and Andy did a fabulous job on me and my friends on our hair and makeup. Every girl's vision was fulfilled. She is patient, detail oriented, focused, thinks about lighting and your outfit while putting your look together. Anny did my makeup for one event and hair/makeup for another. I cannot tell you how many people asked me WHO did my makeup. She has an eye for color and style, a natural born talent that is pretty rare. She was patient with me as one of the days I was running late and always calm which is what every client needs! Our trials went well and the day of, we ended up switching a few things up which went seamlessly. She took her time helping me figure out how to put on my headpiece and dupatta (part of a Bangladeshi/Pakistani outfit). I cannot say enough good things about Anny. Beyond that, she is a joy to work with! She's sweet and fun but at the same time professional. Best vendor I have ever found on Yelp! Thanks Yelp :) read more

Anny is an amazing artist that I would highly recommend for any bride. She will make you look perfect and radiant on your wedding day. She has amazing style and taste and I got so many compliments. I loved that she could make me look amazing without caking it on-it was very natural which was important for me. She's especially great with knowing what to do with Asian faces (I only sought out Asian hair/makeup people). She was always on time and infinitely patient, and accommodating, trying different styles until we got it perfect. She is a perfectionist, and even gave me a complimentary trial. I can't thank Anny enough for making me and my whole wedding party (both Asian and non-Asian) look amazing. If you have further questions, don't hesitate to DM me directly. I am very happy to be a reference for Anny. read more

Anny Chow Makeup - My complimentary hair makeup trial for my shower by Anny - Makeup Artists Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

Anny and her assistant, Andy, did my hair and airbrush makeup for my wedding last month and I could not have been more pleased. I wanted to look natural but radiant, and she definitely accomplished that. I have monolids and know from experience that many makeup artists will try to create a double eyelid where none exists. The result is often bizarre and unnatural. Anny instead worked with what nature and my mom gave me and enhanced my eyes without making me look like someone else. She also figured out what was wrong with my eyebrows and corrected their shape. I definitely recommend having a trial with Anny first, so you can get a feel for her style, and so you can go home and snap test pics. After my trial, I was very happy with my look, but I did send Anny a few comments and things to tweak (a lighter, pinker blush and a brighter complexion, but with no shimmer, a difficult feat!) which she completely took into consideration and implemented perfectly on the wedding day! Her assistant, Andy, did my hair and the style was classic and elegant. Thanks for making me look awesome on my wedding! I loved how I looked! read more

I hired Anny as my makeup artist for my wedding. My first trail with her went very well. She asked very detail my ideal style, adjusted the makeup based on my preference and explored a unique hair half-up with me. Before my wedding date, I had a complimentary trail with her to finalize everything, which was very helpful. On my wedding day, she arrived a little bit earlier. She finished my mother make up and hair quickly and started my hair and makeup. I need to do my whole makeup at two different locations. She adapted my case and finished my makeup on time. My final look was very natural, pretty, cute and sweet, even better than my trail. In general, I am very satisfied with her work. She made me feel like a princess on the big day. I used Anny for my wedding this past August! Finding a makeup stylist can be very difficult. Anything that has to do with your wedding comes with a very high price. I emailed with a number of people until I found her. I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money and neither did my 6 bridesmaids. I also have a had a hard time in the past with stylist putting makeup on my small lids. ( I'm half asian) I did my trial in March which was 5 months prior to the big day. I loved it and so did all my girlfriends so we booked her for all 7 of us. She arrived early to set up that morning. I couldn't have chosen a better artist. I was pretty nervous about finding a hair and makeup person for my wedding, as it isn't something I consider myself an expert in. Luckily, I found Anny and Andy. As both I and my maid of honor ended up having to move the month before my wedding, I didn't end up having my trial until 10 days before the wedding -- and as I wasn't sure what would look the best with my dress, I needed to rely on my hair and makeup team to help me figure it out. Anny and Andy put me at ease right away. They were professional, but also a lot of fun, and spent a lot of time talking to me and helping me figure out what made the most sense. I knew I wanted my hair up, and Andy came up with an updo that was intricate enough to feel wedding-appropriate without being too finicky or distracting from my dress. Anny and I discussed having my make-up feel like the best version of myself, and that's what she was able to accomplish. I was meeting my husband afterwards, so Anny and Andy even changed up the makeup and hair a bit so I could keep the final look a surprise. Leading up to the wedding, Anny kept in close contact with me, my bridesmaids, and my mom, asking for photos and coming up with a schedule. On the day, she and Andy came to my apartment in Brooklyn and did hair for 7 and make-up for 4; everyone was thrilled with how it came out, and my hair and make-up stayed put from 10am until the end of the afterparty at 4am. They were also a much-needed source of calm and encouragement that morning. read more

I cannot recommend Anny and Andy highly enough. I was so happy with my hair and make up on my wedding day and what a blessing to find such communicative, relaxed stylists. We were on a budget and I was having trouble finding a hair and make up person that was reasonable. Then I found Anny. So sweet and fun and chill. She did a second trial for me when I wasn't sure about make up (I don't wear much and wanted to look like myself but needed it to show up in photos) though you do go to her for trials. And Andy made my hair look awesome! They also did my mom and sister on a tight schedule day of. They're just really great people. I got married last July and after going to two different make up artists and only a month before my wedding, it felt like I was just going to have to get through my wedding day with old fashioned make up--heavy on the black eyeshadow. Anny's style of make up is very modern and will make you feel like a model. Her expert choice of coloring for your face and skin is state of the art and her ability to contour my round face was done with such elegance. Andy did my hair and my cousin's hair. He's gentle and well add feedback on what will make you look most beautiful. A dynamic duo. read more

Anny is absolutely stellar! She did my wife's hair and makeup for both occasions (City Hall and evening banquet) on separate days and we were delighted on both. Anny is wary and meticulous on what her client desires and adapted to my wife accordingly to style preference, skin tone, and environment. For City Hall, the make up and hair held up splendidly as we were indoors and out throughout the warm summer day. Whereas the evening banquet was all indoors and once more, Anny's work looked so natural with the indoor lighting. Also, for the day of the banquet, she came to our home for the services and at the end she handled two head pieces so delicately and intricately well, it was a beautiful intertwining of old tradition and modern time. I greatly recommend Anny and her services because she's very personable, friendly, and focused on her client. We are relieved that Anny was available for both our special days and we most certainly hope you hire Anny for yours too! read more

Anny and Andy were incredible! They did my wedding hair and makeup, as well as hair and makeup for my entire wedding party (14 services total) in less than 6 hours, and everyone could not stop talking about how much they loved working with Anny and Andy, and how much they loved how they looked! I found Anny Chow Makeup and Hair only a few months before my wedding after my original artist cancelled on me (my wedding was postponed from 2020) and Anny and Andy were both swift communicators and extremely accommodating. They are worth every penny! I did my trial a few months before the wedding and was doted on for nearly 3 hours in their studio in Vancouver, and we were able to successfully put together the look that I wanted. My wedding reception lasted until midnight and honestly, I didn't take my hair down or remove my makeup until the next afternoon. I woke up looking fabulous, my makeup was still flawless and my hair had so many pins in it that it really didn't move at all. I wore it to brunch. I got two days of hair and makeup for the price of one! Andy also cuts hair and after hearing how I wanted to chop my hair off after the wedding, he suggested we schedule a hair appointment. He even gave me a client discount. He cut my hair the week after the wedding and I love it! I highly recommend their wedding hair and makeup services as well as Andy's hair cutting services! Thank you both SO much for everything! read more
