I dropped in to see about a hair consultation and not only was I talking with Keanna in 5 minutes and then she decided she could squeeze me into her already busy schedule for a shampoo and cut. I never detected that she was in a hurry, taking her time to make sure the cut was perfect. I learned about all the products and tools she was using but never once was I pressured to buy any. On April 25, 2025, I had my first appointment with Katrina at Utopia Salon, and it was an amazing experience. She was kind, professional, and explained everything before getting started. I hadn't had a haircut in over two years due to a bad experience elsewhere, but Katrina made me feel completely at ease. I chose Utopia because they clearly list their prices online, and I loved that they rank stylists by experience -- from Level One thru Level Four. Katrina was a Level Two, and the pricing was very fair for the quality of care and expertise she provided. She gave me great advice about improving my hair health at home, and I was so happy that I booked an appointment for my 17-year-old daughter. Fantastic salon! Randomly searched for a salon near home, selected Katrina as the stylist and hoped to find someone that could become my new hair cutting expert and I did! I have begged them to leave me alone for over two years, and have unsubscribed to their emails multiple times, which made them send me more advertisements. They completely ruined my hair to the point that I have had to tie my hair back for the majority of the past two years. If you want your hair completely fried, the color of your hair orange/blonde, and your hair layered to look like steps on a staircase, go to them. I hope they take my review seriously, because I don't want to be contacted again, or I will seek other action. read more

Went in for a deep condition, cut and style, with voluminous waist length curly hair. Gillian was my stylist and cut my curly hair beautifully. They gave me instructions on using various curly products and how to deep condition too. I generally cut my hair just above shoulder length and this time I gave them full freedom to cut it short but still be able to tie it all up. No bangs but I got lovely face framing pieces and the back looks gorgeous with many layers. Gillian gave me a dry cut which only curly hair stylists do and it was perfect. Highly recommend Gillian. Will be going back to them more frequently. read more

No blonde highlights in my hair like I had asked, I wanted lighter not dark all over, I realize the lady had only been doing this for a couple years, but I expected a lot better quality than what I got for paying $246 when he price list had not reflected this. price was changed when I got to the salon and I was already in her chair. Very disappointed and angry with the way everything went with my hair. I wanted to get an all over color done for my mother's wedding in July. I wanted a mushroom brown color, which is like a light version of brown with a cool tone. The treatment had to be pushed literally the day before my mom's wedding because somebody got Covid over there. The lady who did my hair looked unsure of herself. When I showed her The picture of what I wanted, she came back with ONE hair sample swatch. it was a brassy blonde color. I looked at it and said it looks kind of brassy and she literally said nothing and went back into the staff room. When she was bleaching my hair, The chemicals was hurting my scalp so bad, that I was getting headaches and I felt a burning sensation all over my scalp. Honestly it was unbearable, but I pushed through. When she was finally done it took quite a few hours and when I looked at my hair, I was very speechless. But not in a happy way. It looked green brassy and really orange sometimes in the light. I asked if I could see it in another room because I couldn't tell what I was looking at. The room was very dim. We went to some back studio with lights, but I still couldn't see what kind of hair color I had since it was still dark. But it was still very brassy and I even told her that. It was late into the night so she couldn't really do much more to fix it since my mom's wedding was literally in the morning. I was so disappointed, but I said we could just fix this afterwards. She worked for hours on my hair still and I tipped her over $70 and I even bought shampoo and conditioner for my hair treatment. We scheduled for highlights to see if they could do more to fix it. I was very unsure and just said "sure" because I didn't want conflict. That night, my Scalp was burning and would wake me up because I noticed that she didn't wash off all the chemical from my scalp I felt so ugly during the wedding, especially in front of all my family from both sides. they would ask me about my hair. No one seem to like it and they all thought it looked green. I called back and told them I was unhappy with my hair and I wanted to be fixed because it just doesn't look good. I sent them a photo of my hair and they said they would fix it and that the girl who did my hair was inexperienced with color dye. And these are words from the lady on the phone and not from me. So I went back in earlier date and they did two purple toners on my hair. Free of charge. Which was nice of them. But my hair still looked bad and had that brassy color and not what I wanted. And the ladies were saying how you're never going to get exactly what you wanted. Etc. and one of them even suggested to bleach my hair again but the girl who did my hair didn't look like she wanted to do anything else because I have such thick hair. So I asked if we could just maybe do this some other time after I come back from my vacation in about a week. They agreed and I left still disappointed. But after spending a lot of money and going back-and-forth, I thought about how this hair process shouldn't have been so difficult. So I asked them if I could just get a refund, because I didn't feel confident with them anymore. After that, they became very hostile and told me that if I wanted a refund I should've asked a week after I got my hair done originally. But I wasn't thinking about refunds at the time and just wanted it fix. They made me wait a week to do the toners because they couldn't give me any other day that went with my schedule. So I was screwed about the week policy. no one told me about this policy because I would've definitely have asked right then and there. I was just too nice and just wanted my hair to be fixed at the time instead of thinking of a refund. They told me that only the owner could refund after the week policy. So I asked if I could talk to the owner and they kept making excuses as to why she wasn't available. I told them to make her call me when she is available because the manager was very rude and not helpful at all and snippy with me. Well guess what? I never got a call back and it's been over two months. They just took my money and ignored me once I complained about the services. If I was here to scam them. I wouldn't have tipped the girl almost $70 of tips and bought two hair salon Products over $40. I never asked for the tip back or the shampoos. I eventually had my friend convince me to fix my hair and guess what? it only needed one more toner with a lilac glow to fix it to what I was looking for. the ladies at the salon told me if I put another toner in my hair it was gonna look like my original hair? Well guess what? It got to the color I was looking for! Some one there lied to my credit card Company and said I was satisfied with my hair and I chose my color from a bunch of swatches? never happened? So buyer beware!! because honestly they just took my money and ignored me and I wish I never gone to them. read more
