This is the first Manhattan located which recently opened June of this year. I usually custom order my bagel with tofu cream cheese spread since they offer a variety of bagels, cream cheese spreads, etc. The space is your classic go-to bagel spot that has a display of the bagels being made and there are plenty of seats to sit and eat your bagel. Yeah, utopia was the 1 spot on My new york trip that lived up to the hype. I ran to Utopia twice on my trip. I went with the sweet option both times. French toast bagel with birthday cake schmear. Let me tell: muah. The birthday cake schmear is incredible. Sweet, vanilla-y, and the sprinkles add great texture. The french toast bagel was great. Slightly eggy, with hints of cinnamon. So amazing. The 2 together? A match made in heaven. The service is quick and the kitchen is open concept. So, while waiting you get the opportunity to watch fresh bagels getting baked, sliced, and prepped. I wish they made it crispier since it was very soft. Rate 6/10. 2. Tex Mex Chicken on a Garlic Bagel: This tasted yummy however, there were some negatives about this bagel. The chipotle chicken didn't have any chipotle flavor. It also lacked pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo which was upsetting because I didn't taste any spice you normally would with these ingredients. The bacon was very overpowering, and all I tasted was that. However, the garlic bagel itself was very good, had a strong garlic flavor, and was toasted nicely. Plus, the portion size was perfect for breakfast. Rate 7/10. 3. Build Your Own Sandwich: I enjoyed this option because it allowed me to make my own choices such as the egg style, type of cheese, etc. I ordered a sausage, egg (omelette) and mozzarella cheese on a scooped out, buttered egg bagel. This was delicious, probably because it was an order I practically hand picked. The egg bagel itself though was different in terms of a classic egg bagel taste. Food was not good at all , my bagel was burnt, the bacon did not taste right. It tasted expired or something. I couldn't put my finger on it but it was not a pleasant experience. I had to remove the bacon to actually take a bite of my bagel but at that point I was so dissatisfied that I didn't even bother eating what was left of it. It's sad to see how hyped it is over social media and the delivery and expectations are shot when you actually try it. I would say staff were very nice and doing their best during a rush of orders. We got there around 10:30am on a Friday and waited in line for about 15 minutes. The wait was longer to get our food though. I noticed some people that ordered after me got their orders first so I approached the counter to see the status of my two bagels. When we got our complete order, one bagel was fresh, and the other seemed to have been sitting out for a while because it was cold then I noticed I didn't have egg in my Build Your Own EGG Sandwich, so I had to return it and wait for another bagel. I wanted to get the Cheech but with vegan cheese but was told I had to do the Build Your Own, so that's what I did.
