Had a great experience with Utility Plumbing Services. I had a gas leak in the attic furnace gas lines (x2) which resulted in the gas being shut off by the gas company. In a rush to find help, I went through Yelp and contacted multiple groups after hours (8pm) and literally got a call from Cody, the owner, in less than 10 minutes to setup an appointment. Joe came out the next day and helped triage and assess the issue and provided estimated costs, time, and step by step solutions if the first fix did not work. We did have to reschedule due to availability, but he promptly came back the next day. Not only did he fix the two leaks, he also found 2 more leaks during the pressure test and diligently worked to fix those as well, almost 7 hours non-stop! He even called the gas company to come out and worked with them directly to help fix the final leak and get my gas back on at the same time. Very good customer service. Valerie, the office manager, was very nice and accommodated my schedule. Joseph the service technician came out and assessed my situation. Based on his experience, he recommended I change out my pressure regulator. He said that was what was most likely causing the drip leak in the tub. Total estimate was a little over $2,400 dollars because he recommended I change out my shut off valve. He said he could add a free spigot next to the pressure regulator and replace my cartridge to stop the leak for free. He was kind enough to give me a 10 percent discount. The price was lowered to around $2,200.00. I made an appointment for the following week due to scheduling conflict. I decided to call another 5 star plumber and the new plumber told me because my house was new he wouldn't advise on changing out the shut off valve and said did I really need another faucet near the regulator? I told him not really but Utility was willing to install it free. He said he could fix my cartridge for the bathtub if needed but to wait and change out the cartridge only if there was a leak. My brother in law offered to change it out, but I would have to wait. In the end, I ended up not using Utility Plumbing service and spoke to Cody. the owner, about cancelling my appointment. He was very nice and said to call them if we needed help. At the end I had the second 5 star plumbing company I found on Yelp and they only changed the pressure regulator, which ended up costing me about $820.00. The nice thing is the second plumber was smart by telling me to wait on the cartridge because my bathtub leak stopped. Oh, because my regulator is on the bigger side, instead of the part costing $200.00, it cost $600.00. The additional $200.00 was for the labor.
