Before hiring him and during our home project process, I was impressed by how quickly he got back to me when I had questions. He always returned calls immediately or in a timely matter. It was an approximately 2-3-month period communicating back and forth with him before I made a decision to hire him. He was always professional and patient. I never felt pressured to hire him. In addition, he respected and acknowledged our specific requests before signing the contract which indicates his willingness to work with his customers. Naz communicated with us regularly regarding our project and no problems occurred during the work. Most importantly, there were no extra fees nor did he ever suggest that extra work was needed like other companies tend to do. He made sure we were happy with the end results. Ken helped guide us through setting up a master plan, understanding what both our short-term and long-term goals were. From there, he was able to design a plan that sequenced things perfectly, so could take advantage of all open walls/construction. Ken also presented us a number of options for the new space, which was very productive, and ultimately we selected a plan that was an evolution of the idea my wife & I had. Ken is a collaborative architect who has a great eye for homes. The construction process was the easiest I've ever seen. Despite having to demolish an entire exterior wall, there was virtually no dust outside of the construction area. The team built a full ceiling-to-floor plastic guard to keep our kitchen and living room livable. All of the workers were exceeding polite, and left no sharp objects around (due to the fact that we have little kids). We finished on-time and on budget. Not only did we have a great experience with TKR, we also recommended TKR to other friends who have now had similar experiences. Highly recommend them - the quality was excellent.

But when it was clear that my father in law's…read more68 year old roof was ready to step down from service, I did what any reasonable person looking into a new roof would do. I reached out to 37 contractors at once. I know, I know. But hear me out. I did this with the mindset that all these people had to do was follow some simple instructions. They all got the same form letter which explained our circumstances, budget concerns, communication and availability preferences. I figured as long as everyone simply had basic reading comprehension, common sense, and common courtesy, I'd be able to quickly amass a wide selection of estimates, and go from there. Folks, let me tell ya...I was descended upon like white on rice. Ants to sugar. Bears to honey. Me to a fridge brownie at 3am during a diet. And so fourth. The form letter asked prospective contractors to email me directly. Most responded through yelp. That ruled them out immediately. I'm sorry, but when all I ask is to do the simple thing...and you start off by ignoring the simple thing.... The form latter specified I prefer to communicate via email rather than over the phone. Half immediately asked for my phone number urging for a call that very same day to "lock in a quote", and all the usual high pressure crap. They were removed from the pool too. Yes, just like that. If you find that unreasonable, I don't know what to tell you. People have preferences for a reason. And when they really aren't asking much of you in the first place, it stands to reason it's wise to abide by them in order to show someone you aren't dismissive of their needs. The form letter made mention that while we reside in location A, the home in need of work was in location B, which happens to be a 130 mile round trip. Needless to say, I wasn't going to meet up in person with 37 contractors. Or 27 contractors. Or 17, or even 7 if I could help with. Because *I* don't need to be there. I'm not a roofer, nor am I going up on the roof. Anything I need to know can be said or shown via email or text. It's 2026. My generation is terrified of phone calls. When it actually rings we throw it across the room and hide under the covers until it stops. Come on now. When the dust settled, only two companies remained. One of them was MGMP. I won't mention the name of the second contractor, and I don't want to specify the exact deciding factor between the two, because I don't want everyone reading this review to assume that our circumstances are applicable to them. I will just say that the non-MGMP finalist said that we needed to do something which would have put us severely over budget and put a halt to our effort altogether, while MGMP felt otherwise, and provided us with an option which was feasible enough to allow us to move forward, with the understanding that there *may* be additional expenses depending on what all is found after removing the roof altogether, but we could proceed from there. This was perfectly reasonable. I will admit, at first that felt like a red flag. But after speaking with Johnathan, I decided to trust him, because I have an overly sensitive BS meter and it was sound asleep, which is rare amidst these sort of circumstances. Once the roof was off, the only additional expense beyond our initial quote was $700 to cover some additional materials. I was expecting *much* worse, and was relieved beyond measure. Fortunately for me, MGMP has integrity, and is true to their word. Johnathan sent a series of comprehensive photos and videos showing absolutely all the trouble spots of concern, which he didn't even have to do. I never asked, but he did it anyway, just to be transparent. The whole process had them swoop in early 02/26/26 and they finished mid-day by 02/28/26. And this was not a rush job. Johnathan works with a small army who worked two FULL days (sunrise to sunset) and then some, as well as the time it took to wrap it all up on day three. He sent photos the day it was done, and the work looked immaculate. My father in law isn't doing so hot, and he's well into his golden years. As his time on this giant floating rock winds down, his only major wish and preference is to simply stay in his own home for as long as possible. His home needs a lot of love, and when it was clear we needed to look into a new roof for him asap, we honestly didn't think we'd be able to make it happen. Thanks to MGMP Construction, not only does he now have a new roof, allowing him to stay put doing internet genealogy and playing Peggle on his desktop to his hearts content, but he can stay *home*, where he feels safe. That means everything to him, and just as much to us. So to the team at MGMP Construction and to Johnathan in particular, thank you. You haven't just given someone a new roof, but peace of mind and a reminder that there are still plenty of good people out there, with businesses you can actually trust.

What stood out is he was one of the few who knows what his crews can do and what value he can bring to the project. He is not a salesman, he didnt promise the world like others, i could see he preferred slab over crawl space for example. His prices were fair and most important he has his own regular people working in most aspects with few exceptions (e.g. solar), not some small outfit subcontracting out of his home or having to maintain a large sales crew or lots of project managers. He keeps his expenses down but has enough to do what you need. If you are looking for a reliable, midrange (not too expensive or big and not too small) general contractor to take on your big project like an adu or 2nd story home, i cannot recommend techmaster enough. Last but not least, he is finishing projects on time. Some of my neighbors have waited months and years past their expected date, we finished construction in 2.5 months (weather and permits went smooth as part of that).
