Be aware if you're ordering anything from Utah Ski Gear!! I ordered a Jacket through their website and when I received the jacket, i noticed that the zipper was broken. I called the customer service number and spoke to a representative who emailed me a return label, along with some instructions. I used the return label and sent the jacket back, only to find out that they charged me $12 for returning a defective item? Shame on you Utah Ski! You need to do better. read more

A great little place for rentals! Super reasonable prices -- I paid around $18 for a snowboard rental. I had my own boots and helmet so I didn't need the entire package. Decent gear for $18!! Our favorite ski shop in the valley- fair prices, good products, very knowledgeable staff and all around phenomenal service. Super convenient location coming down from any resort in both canyons and they have a good 30-day guarantee/return policy so you feel confident purchasing higher cost products i.e. boots and giving them a fair shot and knowing that you can return them if they don't work out. The prices are very fair- right on par with anything that you could Google and find via online shopping but these guys are spot on so you don't feel like you have to choose between brick and mortar vs. online because it's usually cheaper. Makes it awesome because their prices are fair and competitive so we'd rather always support a local small business rather than buy gear online. Also way more convenient because you can find what you need on the spot, day of, get everything tuned and locked in and just head up the mountain- love this place and highly recommend as one if the best ski shops in the valley. read more

#1 ski shop in Sandy for a reason! My skis had a core shot which received a shoddy repair from a local shop back in OKC. Utah Ski Gear fixed this awful repair, had them in and out in less than 24 hours, and the price was $30 less than REI was going to charge for quality that's just as good. I got a little misty eyed when I saw my skis restored back to new because they've never looked so good. The entire store team was so friendly and knowledgeable. I wrote a Yelp review a week ago - being disappointed in the policy for returns - I returned lightly used skis that I had skied upon for 4 days - I took excellent care of the equipment , returned the equipment and was told everything was good - everything looked good. The team was very helpful when I rented and returned the product. Of course, I expected that outcome as my brother and I had taken great care of the skis - then when I boarded my plane to fly home I received a message on my cell phone that they found that the skis were damaged and charged my credit card without my authorization . I reached out to the store - and after a week or so and much thoughtful review of their policies - they credited me for the charge and implemented a new policy - better check out and return policies for all ! Good for them for making changes so this type of dissatisfaction does not occur in the future . Everyone , including owner, seemed genuinely concerned to help - so thank you ! read more

I've been renting my entire life at least 2 times per season and would rarely spent more than 45 critical morning minutes. Keep in mind that there was no line. This needs to be fixed. Rental process needs to be optimized. Cheap Android tablets cost 90-200$, one person can do boot fitting, saving credit card for insurance and charging on the different terminal feels like 2002. I came in to find three helmets for my kids. It's their first time skiing and I didn't even know what the fit was supposed to be like because I haven't skied in over 20 years. The woman that helped me was so patient and fantastic, helped my kids try on dozens and dozens of helmets, answered all my questions, and helped us pick out $15 used helmets. Super cool and no pressure. We will be back for their $99 skis in fall. I really feel like she is helping to make this expensive sport accessible to my family at reasonable prices. Even though I am no fan of cold weather, my husband and children are, so I brought my children here today to get them some snowboarding gear since they are now ski season pass holders and my oldest will be taking snowboarding lessons after school. We had rented equipment before somewhere else last season and didn't want to go through the hassle of renting again so we thought we could try getting used gear for the kids this time. Boy, I am so glad I found out about this place on social media. I can't remember exactly how I came to its page on FB (maybe through ads) but I am glad I did. Yesterday I was browsing my news feed when I saw Utah Ski Gear had gotten more gear in their store. So I commented asking if they had kids sizes gear and they replied right away letting me know they did, so I thanked them and told them I'd be stopping by the next day (which was today). Long story short, this place has a great variety of equipment and very good customer service. I wanted to thank all the employees for their patience with assisting myself who doesn't know anything about snowboarding and my 9 and 6 Years old who were very excited to get their own gear. The great thing is that I didn't feel pressured to buy anything I didn't want to, so if you're looking for pushy sales people you better go somewhere else because you will not find them here :) The only reason why I give this place 4 and not 5 stars is because the lady that helped us at first was not as enthusiastic as the guy that ended up helping us with the helmets and goggles (he also rang us up). I tried looking up his name on the receipt but couldn't find it so I'm sorry I don't know his name. I hope he gets recognized by his nice service somehow. The other guy (red hair with a beard if not mistaken) that helped me with the boards was also nice and friendly. As soon as I got home I showed my husband the equipment I got the kids and asked him if I got ripped off and he assured me I didn't; he said what I paid for the gear was a good deal (husband snowboards since he was a kid so he's more familiar with the equipment than I am). So if husband is happy, my wallet is happy and kids are happy with their snowboarding equipment, I am happy too LOL Would I recommend this place? Absolutely! read more
