I've got to give a shout out to Beau. He made my shopping experience so much easier by taking the time to answer all my questions and educate me on a sport I know very little about. My first experience with AJ sports was a couple weeks ago when I came in to buy my kids their first skis. Everyone was helpful and left me feeling like this was a place I could trust. I came back today with the hand me down skis/boots I inherited over a decade ago. I told the staff I had no idea if they were good, or if I needed to get something newer. Beau immediately stepped up and said he'd be happy to help. He spent the next hour with me looking over options at all different price points, pointing out the differences between his recommendations for my ability level. He took the time to not only answer all my questions, but educate me on a sport I didn't grow up around. He was patient and considerate, and listen to me as I voiced certain concerns about some of the options. I ended up walking out with new (to me) skis, poles, boots, and a handful of accessories for me and my kids, with zero buyers remorse. I feel like I'm set up to have a successful ski season for many years to come, and look forward to enjoying the sport much more with myyoung family. read more

I got an instagram ad for this place and wanted to check it out, eventually I found myself in the area ready to buy some used skis for the cheap. When walking into AJ's you find yourself with overwhelming selection. There are skis for all shapes, sizes, and needs. I was also greeted and told that if I needed help with anything to just ask. So the service and selection was more than above par in my opinion. Where I found an issue was in AJ's damage evaluation. They base their demo ski prices off "times ridden" and "model year", not off of overall ski damage. They weren't selling anything un-ridable but I had found myself a pair of skis or two that would certainly sell on FB marketplace for no more than $350 due to the more than obvious large cosmetic damage. When bringing these skis up to a worker, they quoted me around $500 for the skis (bindings included) which I felt was insanely unfair for the skis and the condition that they were in. Ultimately, I was able to find a comparable pair of demo skis (with bindings) in even better condition for only $200 at another outlet store in Salt Lake. My biggest recommendation is to do your due diligence before purchasing because there very well may be better deals nearby. read more

The prices here are fantastic! I was so surprised to see some of this years gear at such a steep discount. The staff here were very helpful, joyful, and made great recommendations on gear. You could tell this is a shop that has great management and people that are passionate about skiing/snowboarding. This shop is perfect if you want to get you and your family outfitted with gear that will keep you comfortable on the mountain and wont break the bank. The selection of soft goods were pretty decent and I did find some gems. I came a bit later in the season so that may be why I didn't see higher end pieces. Matt was really kind and patient in helping my niece find a pair of boots. He was knowledgeable about the different brands and got us a great fitting pair that was affordable. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Charlie and another gentleman about tuning tools. They were able to recommend me a nice file to start tuning. Shoutout to Charlie, Matt and the rest of the staff for the help! I came in for ski poles and boots but I ended up purchasing two Oakley jackets.... Well played AJ Motion haha! read more

We rented from AJ on our recent ski trip. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars. First, John, a manager, spent about 1/2 an hour on the phone with me going over equipment options and recommendations as well as ski destination advice. Then, the employees were universally friendly, helpful, and efficient. We got brand new equipment and cheerful swaps when we needed to change pole and boot sizes. We had to end our skiing 2 days early due to an injury (not serious, thankfully), and they were not only accommodating, they were genuinely concerned for my health. Shout out to John and Anthony -- THE BEST SKI CONSULTANT in this lifetime. You ever get that feeling when you walked in the shop just to browse and you ended up spending hundreds of $ then walked out feeling so good that you would come back the following day and then another following day just to upgrade skis and boots and all ski gears for your whole family!?! That's exactly how it happened to us and we couldn't help but shout out to let them know how AWESOME they are. They are honest, not about selling but listen to what you really need and recommended the product that would fit us. They could easily up sell us but they didn't, even recommended a more value product to save us $. Totally would recommend this place for skis rental and shop. Rented a snowboard from here for 3 days. Called in before hand and staff were really helpful in helping me pick out a rental since I was looking to possibly purchase if I liked the board. They even helped refund me for an extra day I had down. I showed up and they said they didn't have the board but would have it at the other location. After going to the other location they said they didn't have the board and I'd either have to go to another location or get another board. Was disappointing as the guy didn't seem to care he just said that the board he already got out works. Wasn't what I expected but was alright on the mountain. I've rented skis here two seasons in a row now. For season rentals they seem like they've got the best quality and the best price after we shopped around a bit. They come with monthly tune ups as well. Last year I had some serious core shots and they didn't say a thing... It's nice to have the peace of mind that you can use your rental fully without having to worry too much about babying them. They also replaced a couple of my poles no questions asked. I promise I'm a better skier than this is making me sound... If I was living here next year I'd rent season demos here again. My wife says we should have rented her skis here too because the ones we got her from some other place were fluorescent yellow. Apparently that color affects her skiing ability. read more

Super friendly staff (Robbie) helped me and the boy get decked out with some of the better rental gear I've used in some time. The boots seemed to be only a season old and were in great shape, so the fit was nice. Kind of a quiet location, guess it's because the season is winding down. I came back after my first day on the trails at Park City Resort and was allowed to swap out for a higher performance ski. We were accidentally overcharged for our rentals and didn't realize til after we left town. Came here to buy discounted lift tickets, they did not have the one day pass to canyons, but I got the pass for park city. Store is very small and does not have much stuff. Worst rental experience in my life. It took 1 hour to rent skis/snowboards. We waited 30 minutes for the 4 people in front of us to get their skis. And then we waited another 30 minutes for our gear. We tried to reserve online but they didn't have the gear ready for us in the morning when we showed up. Also, their online application process was much slower than simply filling out form on paper. Didn't seem like the one person working there was interested in helping speed things up. Literally the slowest rental experience ever in my life. Would never go back. read more

These guys know their stuff. Got my two boys on some fantastic equipment. I think it was brand new. Not one scratch on the stuff. They are located just down the street from the cottonwood canyons. Spectacular service. We went there 3 times and each time they helped us a ton. They easily fit all our needs with their excellent service and help. All the staff there is knowledgeable of all things skiing and snowboarding. The first day when I showed up when they opened the clerk put down his coffee to help me. Did you hear that people?
