When I decided to give UBB a try, they scheduled the install within 2 days of my call. They honored an advertised price from a mail flyer that I had received a few weeks earlier. The person I spoke to was friendly and helpful, and not "salesy". The install only took a couple hours and the technician knew what he was doing. He gave great advice regarding modems and routers and how to get started. I rented eero devices from UBB for a couple months, then bought my own when there was a good sale. It was no trouble at all to return their equipment - they came and picked it up. The service has been really fantastic. The speeds are more than we need, and I have a few dozen devices between our phones, tablets, laptops, a home computer, and a collection of smart home devices and cameras. I work from home about 80% of the time and I have no complaints! read more

I live in Heber City and don't have many Internet options, but I have been very happy with UBB for the 10 years that I have lived here. There have been very few problems, I seldom need to reboot the router, and a few weeks ago when a piece of their equipment failed, they were at my home in a few days and replaced it. When I have called tech support I have had courteous service with little to no waiting time on the phone. All Internet providers have issues from time to time, but UBB has been very reliable for me overall. read more

I've since moved to a new place where unfortunately UTB isn't available however the 4ish years I had there service was fantastic, customer service is extremely helpful and quick to resolve your issue, they use first names within the company rather than "billing department" or something like that which is pretty neat. I live in an area where Comcast and Century Link haven't extend service (neither have Google or Starlink). Anyway, the only provider has been this terrible company (Fastel) who refused to come to my house before their contractors confirmed they had wired my house. After waiting for Fastel for 3 weeks, I called UBB. They showed up 2 days later and had me up and running in a matter of minutes and at a much lower price. All my neighbors on Fastel absolutely hate them due to their spotty service and terrible business hours and practices. Meanwhile, UBB hasn't had an issue once. read more

After many calls to Utah Broadband there has been some management intervention. Some changes/adjustments,'their end" have been made and I am now seeing much higher speeds in my home. This now means the kids can watch YouTube while Wifey and I can watch Hulu or Netflix at the same time. It was a very bumpy start but Utah Broadband really seem to care, followed up with me on numerous occasions and did come up with a fix. If you have any issues you should reach out to them and I recommend being persistent and running the Speed tests to document your service. They were always polite and responsive even when I was most upset. Nice people, caring company and I believe my initial poor experience was probably an anomaly. It was important to post an update to my initial review but I have to go now...I need to watch "Doc Martin" on Hulu. read more

I am one of the unfortunate ones that has had a downright terrible experience with ubb. As has been stated by others, their tech support is helpful and responsive whenever I reach out but unfortunately I am reaching out on a daily basis because of my unusable internet connection. Immense amounts of frustration with never experiencing anything above 5mbps for the $60 I pay a month has me regretting my decision to go with them. Some people sound like they have had a great experience but there are quite a few of us that are not getting anything close to what we are paying for and I would say buyer beware. If you must use their service, DO NOT ENTER A CONTRACT WITH THEM!!!! Prove that you have consistently high speeds before committing long term. **Post edit** UBB let me out of the contract early with no additional fees. I appreciate their gesture but unfortunately would still not recommend their service to a friend, family member or acquaintance unless there were significant improvements to their infrastructure. This is the worst company!!!! They get a 1 rating from me only because there is no zero option. All the complaints you can see here about them never delivering what they promise and advertise is all too true. When you call them to complain they are dishonest and basically tell you your bandwidth is low because you are utilizing the service and drawing more than you are paying for. This is just not true. There are just two seniors living in this house and never are two people streaming movies or doing anything that requires much bandwidth at the same time. We don't use squat for bandwidth! A simple two minute video almost always needs to buffer. If more than one person is on-line at the same time you can be assured of noticing significant decrease in speed and capacity. When we run a bandwidth test and tell them how horrible it is they tell us they are showing better numbers. BS!!! Unfortunately Utah Narrowband is the only option we have for internet at our home in Park City. The minute we have another option we will switch. It has been a horrible eight years with this company. Wicked Fast, you cant get to our neighborhood fast enough. Anybody who has an option should never select Utah Narrowband. I should also mention that if you have a home security system that utilizes an app for remote minoring like ours, Utah Narrowband blocks that function unless you pay them an additional $5.00 per month. If you like poor service, horrible connectivity, little reliability and times with intermittent or no service you will love Utah Narrowband. Our experience with them is not an isolated incident, we have been putting up with this dishonest horrible company for eight years now, and so are our neighbors. We have had issues with UBB for the last couple of months. For two weeks in April I was calling tech everyday with issues and would get a different answer on what the issue was. Finally got it fixed for a month, but today I am going on 24 hrs with no internet. When I called this time I was told trees are in the way (the same trees that have been there the 5 years I have had the service). Sadly the only other internet option I have at my house is Xfinity which I will be returning to on Sunday. I hope others have a better experience with Utah Broadband. read more

Last year when I first went with Utah Broadband the gentleman I spoke with understood my unique situation of installing on a 5th wheel R/V that is permanently setup up for the summer and not moved. He had me signed up and an appointment for an install within 2 days. Installer was very prompt and and polite. Very happy with the service I got last summer. AS I stated this is on a 5th wheel R/V and it does get moved for the winter months. Billing was extremely helpful in putting my account on hold last fall and then again taking my account off of hold this spring. Problem is I keep getting handed off to different people trying to get an appointment my dish re installed. My emails are either flat out ignored or they act as if it is an inconvenience to send out an installer. Even after repeatedly stating the dish was taken down and needs to be reinstalled, I am asked over and over if the dish is still "on the pole" I don't understand why it is so hard to just put me on the schedule to have an installer come up and do this. Exactly same type of scenario as if I had moved and they had to do a "complete" install. All I need is the dish plugged in and aimed. Not happy at all with UBB - had issues for over 6 weeks that were not resolved until today. Cost me over $80 in cell data charges to make up for lack of wireless connectivity. I have been a customer for well over 3 years with Utah Broadband. I typically have patience, as I have had to do so in the past, However, when technical support refuses to listen, even after the 4th call, there is a problem. Instead, rather, I was directed to call the manufacturer of my router, stating that this was the problem. Only to discover a day and a half later, after pulling my hair out, and missing my assignments, as well as making multiple calls back and forth and wasting more time.. that is was indeed an issue with UBB, and faulty equipment that needed repaired. Instead of an apology, I was told that the ETA may be that evening, or later, but that if I had questions, I could call them Monday through Friday from 9-8pm.. Seriously? did that solve the issue? Flip no. I then, was given a voice mail in the afternoon of the following day, saying it was repaired and that if I had further concerns, to call them. Well, guess what? Here it is.. The 5th day.. and my internet works only to load maybe 2 out of 5 pages, and the other times, there is a block from an administrative side, telling me to contact UBB Monday through Friday during business hours - - Are you kidding me? My payment has been satisfied, and there is a credit on my account actually. So I have no idea why there would be more issues, unless they didn't resolve the problem in the first place, and just chose to be lazy and not tell me the truth, as I hate to say it, but they are starting to be on that list. This is not the first time that I have had issues, and I do hope to find another ISP, in my area..because I have had it.. It used to be that I would call them reliable, but unfortunately, not any more. If I had choose to still work in my home, I wouldn't be able to agree to it, because of how consistently unreliable they truly are.; Great billboards, and once upon a time, fantastic service. I was given the run around.. everyone loves that right? I was directed to my Netgear account, to only have a customer care rep try to tell me that she could repair my problems for over $200 a year.. (I guess its better than a fortune teller?).. and was told from UBB to get a new router, which I just had purchased not too many months ago.. The money and time keeps adding up as far as what had been wasted that day. I would look around before choosing UBB, especially if you are in a rural area. Customer Service: begins with listening.. seeking to understand BEFORE getting a big head and thinking you are the ruler of the monotonous world. Maybe a customer.. or even a patient (Dr's are you listening?..) who actually knows something about symptoms they are experiencing..wow.. it doesn't take a doctorate to know we are all human..and that equality is about respect and understanding. I do have to say, There are two exceptional employees that work in technical support. It's as if they have not been burned out and truly want to help. They should be recognized for at least being honest to what they could and could not do. Make sure they can connect you to a good tower before you agree to anything. And don't let them tell you over the phone they can connect you to a good tower - make them come out in person. For us there were trees in the way so they could only get us on one of their main towers that is completely overloaded so you can't get much from it, especially at peak times. We paid for 5 Mbps and I've never had more than 2.86 Mbps and during peak times like weekends I'm somewhere around 1.5 Mbps. I can't stream anything. Netflix won't even work and Youtube is ALWAYS buffering. When I called to have it fixed they said they might have something better in 1 to 6 months but no garantee. When I asked for a refund because I paid the $99 install they told me I was too late. I've had them for somewhere around 3 weeks but if you don't cancel within 7 days your out of luck. Full disclosure, I am a former employee of Utah Broadband. I had this service for 4 years and would have kept it had I not moved out of state. When I first got service in 2007 it was a 3 mbps connection. In a matter of four years I was on a 30 mbps connect. Many people don't know this, but many years ago the company was sold to a Canadian company that ran things very poorly and the outlook was quite bleak. The former owner of the company knew that UBB had a great team. He also knew that real lives and families of UBB employees were at stake. He already cashed out, but he worked hard to purchase back Utah Broadband. Very few companies care as much about their employees as these guys. I can't say that much about any of their competitors. If you have poor service, just call these guys up and either it will get fixed or you will get a straight answer about what the problem is. read more

NOT IMPRESSED with UBB at all !!!! Reviewed their website and our address is in the middle of their highlighted service area. Purchased service online then call to confirm service is available. Spoke to Amy and was told yes, was up sold on faster service based on service availability. Installation date set for almost 10 days out. Then receive a call (again from Amy after I review my notes seeing it was the same person) a few days later saying the engineering team now believes no service is available and they have cancelled my order and installation. I had already rearranged my home security system and camera upgrades as well as other routers and such purchased to have the rug pulled out. Nothing said to me about my inconvenience or purchases made and now trying to resolve in finding another company before our home security company comes back out next week. Never ever will use nor provide a positive referral to even my worst enemy. Very disappointing as I was trying to keep my business and dollars earned right here locally within the state of Utah and the Wasatch front and back. Big guy wins out over little guy on this because of what all customers want most...service. I would have paid the higher prices. I would have enjoyed the higher speeds that were promised to me. If we didn't get fiber installed at our house, I would have stuck with them. Their customer service was spectacular. They were prompt, answered the phones, and answered my questions. The installer came when he was supposed to and did a good job and was done quickly. When I called to cancel, it was so easy and they were very understanding about why I was cancelling and it was done in about 3 minutes. No fuss! Billing is no fuss. Just the service fee and no other extras on there. No surprises. My only issue was the lower than expected internet speeds, which I already knew would happen with an antenna service, but I still could watch youtube videos with out issue. I paid for 10 mbps service, and usually ran around 5 when I tested it. If I needed to go with an antenna based service again, I would absolutely use them again. read more

First time with the company and have had multiple issues which is why I couldn't give 5 stars. I scheduled an appointment time but no one showed within the 4 hour window they emailed to me, but did come later in the day. They said they mixed it up. The guy who installed the system was really friendly and informative. Because of the friendly workers, I initially gave 3 stars and because they offered to compensate the second month. Update to the review after 2 months use: I decided to cancel the internet service because it wasn't functioning very well. My billing statement went through a certain date and I was told the internet would continue through the date. At some point, without my knowledge, the dish was removed the day after I called in (though I was told it would happen in a few weeks) prior to the end of the billing cycle, leaving me without internet for several days. I called in and was told by the technician they didn't know why it was removed early. The only reason for 2 stars is the customer service has been reasonable and people are friendly. I am still waiting for a resolution regarding compensation and why they would remove it early. I will update the review regarding how this process goes. read more

Well we get an email saying their engineers decided that they could not service our area after multiple people (Amy, Shawn and one other) said that our area was serviceable. As a new small business owner we have been using UBB for several months and have found their services adequate for our needs. We are a small shipping company so we are constantly uploading/downloading documents of various sizes throughout the day. They are a bit on the expensive side for the speeds you get but we have had no problems with bandwidth or signal strength using 10-15 workstations. They were not our first choice after reading some of their reviews but after being turned down by Comcast, CenturyLink, Utopia and a few others due to our location. UBB were the only ones that said that there wouldn't be a problem, and so far we have had none. read more

Cant even stream a single movie (no other devices on wifi) without the movie constantly stopping to load. I chose these guys cause the previous owner already had it set up. As we have all been affected by Covid, I think 4 days without internet is a little much to ask for from your customers. Before upgrading, we had small issues. It was always our fault, they say. Living in rural community, we are limited on internet options. Now working from home we upgraded. Now I am on 4 days without internet. Using up the majority of my cell data within the first week of it reseting, and putting an extra $50 towards my cell account to cover any extra data I may have to purchase. I am calling UBB but transferred to voicemail. * Within seconds of writing this review, my phone rang and they scheduled an appointment. We will see how this ends up. UPDATE! I have never had issues with their employees that come out in the extreme heat to assess the damage. They have always been polite. Some hardware was damaged and they fixed it within an hour. As I was checking on my monthly charge, they decided to charge me my old plan amount and prorate the next month. As I am pleased I still disagree with not having an on-call person for a state holiday/weekends. As we work for a 24/7 company that depends on internet service. I would've given the (-) negative number starts if that choice was available. UBB took over the previous company I've been using for over 5yrs...Catapulsion. This changeover has been a F*%*ing disaster. They immediately cut my speed and only tell me that I now have to pay more to get what I had with Catapulsion. As of 2 minutes ago, I upped my plan AGAIN because we can't even stream with their service. I'm now paying $20/month more than I've paid for the last 5yrs. Very nice, friendly people in customer service. Unfortunately, the only customer "service" they provide is an offer to up your plan and charge you more. Other than that, their employees in the "customer service" department serve no purpose. Their internet service is the worst I've had in Park City in the 15 years that I've lived here. I currently have a 1 year contract with these guys that I can't wait to get out of. The service constantly goes down almost on a daily basis I have to reset my POE device. I never get the speeds that I pay for 10 down and 5 up about 1% of the time. This only happens after I call them and they reset something on there end... I'm usually averaging 2-3 mbps down and in the 100k range up. I've called technical support about 20 times. They explained to me that there are more people than anticipated on their tower and switched me to another one this did not help... the internet will be working and unexpectedly go out or slow down extraordinary with out explanation at any given time. And after the 20th some odd phone call they are finally sending me a new POE power adapter. Although i doubt it will help, it's pitiful that it takes 20 plus phone calls over a several month period before they would question their own hardware... Do yourself a favor and stay away from UBB! read more

Pretty good if you have line of sight to their tower and you have no other High-Speed options. However, if you download a BIG file they will auto-downgrade your speed until the download stops which can in turn make the process longer, etc. Not ideal in the world of large downloads. read more

I was told Allwest was the only option in Kamas, UT. Luckily I found UBB as I get 15mbs which has been fast enough to stream movies. I work from home and upload photos all the time and it's been great. Way cheaper than the other options too. No install fee for a year contract and then it goes month to month. Or you can pay install fee and start month to month. A 14 day trial as well. Best customer service and I've had them all (dish, comcast, century link) No hidden fees. Great service all around. Now if sling tv could stream live games better everything would be perfect. Sling is amazing at everything live except live sports for some reason. I have been a park city customer since 2006. I cannot tell you how many times I have complained, a bunch. They resolve the issue by adding newer equipment and pointing to new radios, but n just a short time those new radios get oversold and slow. I think I am on a 12 meg down and 3 meg up and my speed test is showing .8 up and 4.3 down, this is a so slow that Netflix is buffering and now everyone is pissed off. I wish we had a second option but we have nothing but ubb. I cannot wait for a competitor to pop up in park city. If you have another option you may want to consider that. Their agents are friendly but I do not care about that, I want to be happy so I do not have to call tech support 4-5 times every month. I am not happy with Utah broadband. read more

We pay for 15 M and have never had speeds faster than 550 K, They should charge for the average speed you are receiving not for a speed you have never even come close to. After posting this review A representative from Utah Broadband named Shawn contacted me about my poor service, I have to give it to him he was very professional and understanding and tried to correct my bad experience with them, He sent out a truck a day or two later to work on the thing they install on your roof for free, They did something that made it a little better but its still very slow, Ive done multiple speed test's since and now my average speed is 2M. So still very slow but defiantly better than before. But again Shawn did contact me to try to make it right so I have to give them that. read more

I contacted Utah Broadband after having bad customer service with one of their competitors, (see prior review) and was received warmly and openly. I found this to be a smaller company that may offer alternative choices to those who don't want cable. I did call back after having an appointment set up to investigate if I could get a line of sight to the tower and spoke with Brad, who is a tech who was most helpful in the call. We discussed the differences between different types of signals and the pro's and con's of each. I felt better after speaking with Brad and while I could not get a line of sight I did get great customer service from a smaller company who seeks to better themselves by owning all their own equipment. It is only due to the location where I live as to why I could not be their customer. read more

I was a customer for 4 years. I went to them like most people do, because Comcast pissed me off. They had been ok, not super with consistent speeds but ok for what i needed, even though i was paying more than what you could get other places. A few months ago my needs changed and they could not offer the speed I needed. I called and cancelled my service and very very reluctantly went back to Comcast. This is where the problems began. No one ever called me to let me know what they intended to do with the dish on my house. A month after I cancelled my service, someone in an unmarked van slams a ladder into the side of my house and climbs up on my roof. He quickly removed the dish, and just the dish, not the mount and left. My kids and wife were home, and terrified as they hear banging sounds and someone on the roof. The guy never rang the door bell, the company never called to let me know what was going on. Had I not been at work, the outcome would have been very different. This upset me greatly, and I emailed the company a couple times to find out what they planned to do about the mount. I was told that I would have to schedule with the install people (probably the same guy who felt free to climb on my roof without letting me know) and I assume at my cost. Was told it was standard practice to leave the mount. (!?) While this was happening I noticed that I was continuing to be billed for an IP address. It's not alot of money, but I shouldnt be in thier system as a customer anymore. I don't like that after we part ways they still have the ability to bill me for whatever they like. A month a go they reversed the 2 previous charges and told me it was taken care of. This morning I saw the charge again. Was told again it would be taken care of. Check your statements after you part ways. And by the way, notice the business manager seems to be calling out people who are leaving reviews that are not "in thier system". But not disputing the crappy service for those that are in thier customer system. Interesting. read more

This is one of those reviews that I wish there was an option of zero stars. I'm an IT consultant and I have in the past recommended Utah Broadband to clients who can't get service from Comcast. I recently advised a client to call Utah Broadband and get their service installed in her home. The tech that arrived for the install decided he wanted to be lazy and honestly stupid in how and where he installed their service. The place he decided to install her service totally cut the user off from every other connected device in her home. In trying to resolve the issue with the scheduling department I waited six days for a call back. That call back came from a rude and completely unhelpful person named Monica. I attempted to resolve my issue with customer service and was eventually connected to the tech that installed Utah Broadband's equipment. The tech took zero responsibility for being lazy and for making clear mistakes in where he installed the user's equipment. The tech eventually hung up on me. This service is ridiculous! Oh wait I can't even get the service! I was told by Sean a sales associate that I would have exceptional service at my home. So i waited 3 days for installation, which was scheduled between 9-1pm. Trevor didn't show up until 2pm, then told me I wouldn't get any service.
