He was able to help me reach a settlement agreement which was fair and equitable to both sides. Pros: 1) He was knowledgeable and capable 2) I worked for several years to pull together as much information about the case as possible. He was able to pick up where I left off and gather some additional information. 2) We were able to come to a fair settlement that ultimately saved me money-- I feel we achieved the best possible outcome in the case. 3) He worked from a legal insurance policy I had through work, so my out of pocket costs were very low. Cons: 1) Communication wasn't the best. (It wasn't uncommon to go 6 to 12 months between updates--although part of that was due to the very slow process of the case itself). I wish the office had made a point of regularly checking in with me every few months. 2) Progress was slow, for example it was the opposing counsel that asked for a meeting to discuss settlement; It would have been helpful if this topic had been broached years earlier, as legal fees are astronomical when you pay 100% of your own. My biggest takeaway is, always have some kind of legal insurance protection, so you can get the help you need. Perhaps if I wasn't on an insurance plan, I would have been prioritized more--but I certainly would have paid more for his work. Perhaps it was better to know that his office wasn't generating busy work to make charges for their own sake and as expensive as legal services are--that's really important to me. Each time I had contact with his office, there was a valuable reason. Russ was able to give me his professional expertise and I'll always be grateful to him for that.

I've contacted the Bar and they have you jumping through hoops in a system that denies any accountability for their own. Just as if foxes were protecting the hen house against other foxes.
