I was NEVER kept informed of hours being charged. They billed my credit card for $6031. They will not return my calls or emails. Will not do anything now that they have my money. I have contacted BBB & filed a complain with the Utah State Bar.

This update to my original review of the law firm of J.D. Milliner is in response to J.D…read more Milliner's post of 9/2/2020. J.D. Milliner claims that my review of his law firm was largely based on information obtained from a rather unreliable source. I find this to be quite comical considering I based my review on my own personal interactions with the employees of his firm along with emails as well as invoices that were sent to me for payment of his firms work both when I was in fact a client of his firm as well as when his firm was retained to represent the client that his firm represented at the time this review was originally posted. These emails and invoices covered a time span of close to one year and came from the attorneys and employees of his own firm. I based my review of his law firm on what was supplied to me by his own employees as well as the personal interactions that occurred for close to one year with the employees and attorney's in his own office so I guess in essence J.D. Milliner is telling everyone who reads his reply to my original review of his law firm that his employees are the rather unreliable source that provided me with the information that I based my review on. J. D. Milliner states that the billing practices and procedures of his law firm are clearly set forth and that his firm provides detailed monthly statements each month to their clients. I also find this somewhat questionable considering in December of 2019 I personally disputed 2 invoices in a meeting with J. D. Milliner that were submitted to me as well as the client that was being represented by his firm due to unclear and questionable charges on the bills that were submitted by 2 of his attorney's that were working the client's case he refers to at that time. The result of the dispute was J.D. Milliner himself making the 1 particular bill in his own words "Go away" J.D. Milliner also states in his post that he must follow the instructions of his actual clients or withdraw from the representation of that client. This statement also comes into question due to the fact that the client he is referring to in this case submitted to him along with the attorney assigned to represent her as well as the paralegal employed by him a detailed letter that contained written and precise instructions of what the client wanted J.D. Milliner to do regarding their representation of her as their client. 6 days later the client in question received a letter from J.D. Milliner and assoc. informing her of their decision to withdraw from representing her as their client. In the letter that was sent to the client one of the reasons that was cited for withdrawal of representation was due to the bad review that I had posted here regarding his law firm. In summery it seems that the law firm of J.D. Milliner and associates retaliates against the clients they represent by withdrawing from representation of them when anyone associated with that client exercises their right to free speech and the right to review his law firm regardless if the review is good or bad. I stand by my original review of this business

She was suspicious of us as grandparents at first, but she did her own research and then came to understand why we were fighting so hard to protect our grandchildren. I would highly recommend her and her firm for any family related legal work. Ivan Bedell

She promised to "make me whole" due to the malpractice. She informed me that her malpractice insurance would pay a settlement to cover my losses. On 01/10/2025 she sent me an email where she ensured that I would be made whole due to the "screw ups" of her and her law firm. On 01/29/2025 she sent me an email that stated, "Bryan is fighting me on the unemployment and denying he screwed up your case..."On 01/30/2025 I sent an email to her asking her to inform the Judge and opposing counsel of the malpractice. On 02/04/2025 I sent an email to her and Casey Kener asking "Is there an easy way to pull from Green Filing all of the motions/objections/responses that opposing counsel filed between January 1, 2023 through October 24, 2024." On 02/02/2025 I received an email from her stating (with Ms Kener cc'd) "I can give you my login and you can go through it." On 02/05/2025 I was forwarded an email from Ms. Medura to Alex Dorius. The email from Ms. Medura stated, "Will you give her the log in and show her how to use it?" On 02/05/2025 I received an email from Ms. Dorius that stated, "Hi, The greenfiling login is user: jmutahgf@gmail.com Password: 01Whatthefu ck?! Give me a call and I can let you know how to use it if you need any assistance." On 02/11/2025 I met with Ms. Medura and Rachel Maxwell Booker about the malpractice-they admitted to fault and negligence-they assured me they would "make me whole." They also admitted the terminated employee still had the firm password. On 03/05/2025 I met with Riley Farnsworth. She advised the entire office knew the firm had impacted my case and Ms. Medura had informed the staff that "she" and the firm would take responsibility. On 04/23/2026 my attorney sent a letter to Ms. Medura and Ms. Maxwell asking for the name of their malpractice insurance carrier. To date, neither of them has responded. The Medura & Maxwell Law Firm LLC and attorneys in my experience, have unethical billing practices. I was billed while employees were camping or at hockey games. I was double billed for work. Ms. Medura and Medura Maxwell Family Law Firm LLC also placed a retaliatory lien on my home after questioning their fees which constitutes professional misconduct and retaliation. Ms. Medura violated the Utah Rule of Professional Conduct 1.7. Ms. Medura also violated Utah Rule of Professional Conduct 1.8(h). Ms. Medura with Ms. Kener's knowledge gave me the log in and password for their law firm's GreenFiling System. Ms. Maxwell was also made aware of this on 02/11/2025. The law firm's password for GreenFiling at that time was 01Whatthefu ck?!. This is the "professionalism" I received while a client of this firm and by the attorneys owning or working for Medura & Maxwell Family Law LLC. Ms. Medura admitted in numerous emails, text messages and in audio recorded meetings that she and her firm had committed malpractice on my case and other client's cases. Ms. Medura, Ms. Maxwell, Ms. Kener and Ms. Dorius all provided to me, or were aware that the law firm password was provided to me, as a client. I have never been employed by Medura & Maxwell Family Law LLC. "Green Filing stores client data-including party information, service contacts, client matter numbers, and submitted documents." "Green Filing Terms Of Service: You agree to maintain the confidentiality of your password and account. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account." Ms. Medura gave the firm password to a client, a random person that was given access to every single one of their client cases and all the personal information of those clients and those named in all the firm's cases. Once again, the password set up and used daily by these professional attorneys was 01Whatthefu ck?!. If you are a client of Medura & Maxwell and are concerned about your information, contact Green Filing or the Utah Office of Professional Conduct.

I spent over $40,000 on a divorce case with Ted and received absolutely zero of the things i was wanting in the divorce. I negotiated an alimony deal with his ex-wife, just to have Ted try and take credit for the negotiation, when he did absolutely nothing to facilitate it. Ted charged full attorney fees for paralegal level of work. In 2 1/2 years, I was only billed the paralegal rate for less than 3 hours of work. I feel this is a very unethical practice. Ted may come across as a nice guy when you first meet him, but he becomes very short tempered and gruff as your case progresses. Ted failed to file a closing argument in the case and later said he was trying to save money, which I find appalling. Ted, then proceeded to bill for over $2,000 of research for an appeal that was not being pursed. Ted is all about the money and not the client's interest. Ted let opposing council write the divorce decree, which allowed the ex-wife to get 100% of what she wanted and I received nothing of what he was asking for. Ted offered to settle the case financials for $1,500 dollars. There were no strings attached to this offer and there was no date set for the payment to be made. After a google review was mentioned, Ted said he would accept his offer if no google review was posted. Glad yelp is an alternative. Ted was also informed that the board of ethics would be contacted in regards his billing practices and the blackmail regarding the posting of a google review about his overall business practice. Ted emailed back and confirmed he would only continue to agree to his offer if I did not post a negative review on google. I feel this is blackmail and again an unethical attorney practice.
