On hold for over an hour.. no response not one person to talk to... it is so frustrating. We came into post office in Surprise to have our mail be placed on hold since we bought our home the owners did not have mail keys. ( go figure) the post office said it could take anywhere from 7-10 business days and that we need to place our mail on hold to be picked up in office. Then I see a package we ordered that has been placed with USPS states at post office. Sweet ! I'll go and pick it up.. but no, now it is "out for delivery" how ?!? Zip code 85020 Location 7th Street and north of Hatcher. The postal service is the worse I have ever seen. Last Sept, my daughter sent me my birthday card with my birthday check and mailed in from Ashland Ohio on Sept 10, my birthday is Sept 18, did not received and until Sept 30 and that was only after inquiring about it since the 25. Now I have been expecting an item that was mailed on March 25, 2017, it is now Mar 30. The item has a tracking number that shows the date and time it left Cobb Island MD and no other information. I have tried calling which is a joke, I was told there would be 1/2 hr wait so I gave them my phone number, when I went to answer the phone on the second ring the robo caller hung up, then I tried to call them back, then I went through the same ol craps about another 1/2 hr. I tried calling the local station in PX AZ 85020 and the phone rang for 5 minutes no answer and then disconnected. ARE THERE ANY POSTAL EMPLOYEES STILL ALIVE AT THE POST OFFICE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE INCOMPETENCE OF THE POST OFFICE AT THIS POINT. It seems between the post office and the utilities you can expect nothing for which you spend hours to get nothing. Snail pace employees, typical Union go getters. Waited in line way too long. Mailed a package on the 19th of Dec. Paid for, and was assured delivery by the 23rd. Today is the 27th and still no package. Tracking says no contact with the package since the 21st at 0335. No phone number to speak to someone. All automated for their convenience not the customers. Thankfully insured. Will use Fed Ex or UPS in the future. Update... To be fair, the PO delivers countless packages on time or even early and probably doesn't deserve this scathing review but when it is extremely difficult or near impossible to reach a person in customer service, all one has left, is to vent. The package arrived today, the 28th and it was damaged. Had a package delivered today and instead of dropping it at my door which is 15 feet away from the boxes, it was shoved into my mailbox and is too big to be pulled out from the front. They deliver to my front door all the time so why would you shove an item that you can clearly tell cannot be flattened into a small box?? read more

I have had a myriad of problems with the Surprise Post Office over the past two years, enough to give any reader googly-eyes if I detailed every one in this forum. Here is one that illustrates their prevalent laissez-faire working attitude. On the same day, from the same cluster box, posted at the same time, I mailed two bills to an established medical building on Mountain View Blvd., each bill mailed to the same doctor's office. It should be noted that the addressee is located in Surprise. Two weeks later one of the bills was returned, stamped with "Undeliverable due to a non-recognized address." The second bill was delivered. When I went to the Surprise PO and spoke to a supervisor (after getting passed through three underlings), I was told, "The mail goes to Phoenix and then is returned here." Thats it. I received no apology and no statement of trying to do better. I have taken the entirety of any business that I previously did with the USPS elsewhere. read more

Do to have that ONE review you just keep putting off and dont care to write it? Thats the post office for me. You get what you get, and you get it here. It's like a review of a place that no matter what any of us write, it'll never change. One thing I'd LOVE to see, especially once the Snow Birds return... A speed line. Just a basic line for basic transactions. I always use the automatic machines as often as I can, but it always seems the times I have to wait in line, it's always out the door and takes forever. I was bored, had a few hours to kill, had been sitting at a desk all day (which you know isn't healthy), and realized that I had been a little anti-social lately, so I thought, what one place could fix all of these problems? I know, the Post Office! Only 9 days until Christmas, so I knew I'd be able to fill those hours standing in a Disneyland-sized line, which would give me plenty of opportunities to make new friends. I sure wasn't disappointed. No, sir. I got in, quickly assessed which line was the one that would eventually lead me to the main counter, and took my place among a group of rather somber looking people, each struggling to maintain control over a half-dozen or so packages that kept shifting in their arms. Cheer up, people! It's the holiday season! I can't believe how many grumpy people there are out there this time of year. Some even had the nerve to complain that other patrons, (who had waited in line just as long by the way), still hadn't put their gift bags and other items into boxes for mailing. What's the big deal? The employee was more than happy to dedicate 10 or so minutes exclusively to helping them pack their items. Now that's customer service. And I should add that the Post Office really takes care of its employees as well. They let all but two of them go home for the day, obviously so they could enjoy time with their families during the season. Wonderful! You don't see stores like Fry's or Safeway pare down their staff to just two people during a busy time, do you? No! They ramp up their staff so that nobody has to wait in line and can get customers in and out efficiently. That's just mean-spirited, taking employees away from their families like that. I made the best of it by making some new friends in my time there. I couldn't believe they had negative things to say about their experience, though. I don't like to let negativity ruin my holidays, so I smiled and let them go on and on about how sloooooowwwww everything was and how they had other things to do. Lighten up, people! You just got here an hour ago and you're almost 2/3 through the line! At least you were lucky enough to get in! They closed up shop and sent other people walking away, packages in hand, dejected that they couldn't join us. 2 stars. I would have given it 5, but the entire crowd seemed to hate the service there, so I'm going to be fair and average it. read more

Not a bad place, will need to expand soon with the population growth here in Surprise. You can experience long lines at times, but that happens at all post offices. Workers seems to be nice all the time, and it's usually clean inside and out. Like it because its the nearest and most convenient location for myself. read more

Certainly not the first to complain, am new to Surprise, mail service is not up to any other place I've lived! I paid $16.10 to receive a package from the east coast with 2 day delivery, but can't access the drop box located at bottom of mass mailboxes at housing development I live in. I've repeatedly called the number listed for Surprise P.O. 14955 W Bell Rd, menu says operator will answer but never does. It rings and rings until beeping a disconnect with no other number or way to find out how to open the box that has 2 locks, yet only 1 key was left in my mailbox that fits both locks but won't turn either. My mailbox key doesn't fit either, so did the mailman goof up or is there a magic word I don't know? All I can think to do is again drive to the boxes, open mine, leave a note to the mailman for tomorrow....so much for paying extra for speedy delivery!! Meanwhile my package is melting in the extreme heat, and worthless. 0 stars! read more

Having closed on a new house in early May, our subdivision cluster mailbox and keys were incorrect from the builder's sales office and unknown to us. Kept checking for mail but nothing in the box. Starting to get worried when a local vendor stated our account was past due and we never received an invoice. The USPS Staff were very helpful, and the Supervisor went out of her way to locate the correct box, delivered all our long list mail to our house, straightened out the key discrepancy with the builder's office and came to our home to deliver the correct keys! We can't thank the Surprise USPS office enough! Great job and satisfied customer! And blessings to Toni and the lovely Supervisor for all their help! read more

This post office is a joke. Twice I ordered an item from eBay and after receiving an email letting me know the item was delivered at my mailbox, I went to the mailbox and lo and behold, no mail. I went to the post office to complain and was told a supervisor would be calling me which never happened. I had to end up calling myself again. As it turned out, the item was delivered to someone else's mailbox. Fortunately, that person had not picked up their mail yet and the mailman found my item it that persons mailbox. Today the same thing happened with another item that should have been put in my box. Now I have to go to the post office again to try to rectify this issue. It is futile to try to call the post office because no one ever answers the phone. I am so disgusted with this post office, I wish they had more competent employees working there and also the mail carriers should be more proficient doing their jobs. read more

Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. A Christmas present was coming and USPS stated it was out for delivery. Somehow accident scanned after that to be forwarded to an imaginary address. Nobody was able to locate my package for days and now they are saying I won't get package for another 5 business days and there's nowhere I'm able to pick it up from I just have to wait for it to be returned from this imaginary forwarded address. They need a better system in place. To put it simply--THIS PLACE ROCKS. Why you ask? Well, for starters, you won't waste half your life waiting in line, which is the usual if you frequent the the 'real' USPS on Bell. Second, they're open til 9PM, so you aren't confined to a 5PM close--you can drop off packages after work! Third, the people that work there are always pleasant and friendly. Fourth, Party Planet is the 'Ultimate party super store'. So, in case I forgot to pick up a grass skirt or need to rent a margarita machine, I can take care of it, after I send my care packages. Had a look on her face as though she didn't want to work, didn't offer options to what else I could possibly do in order to complete my transaction.
