I had an amazing experience, my office hasn't been recieving any packages or mail since August. I noticed that after a couple months and went into the store in southfield, the supervisor that was covering at the time William was an amazing help he worked with me on this issue for a week and even took time on his weekend to go ahead and locate the packages, as well as he reached out to me and let me know, I really appreciated his help, it was dedicated and exceptional customer service skills!!! read more

I had to visit the USPS in Southfield to pick packages because the delivery address was incorrect (company error) but when I arrived a clerk greeted me and offered to assist. Unbeknownst to me, there are several packages to pickup. Long story short, she instructed me to meet at the dock and we began loading the boxes into my car until we gathered we should open each box and load, which were waste baskets. Vanita didn't hesitate to jump in and assist to get it done! I appreciated her assistance! read more

Went to several other USPS locations to process my fiancés passport, none of which would take us as a walk in despite the low people traffic. Went to this location last and the lady quickly took us not even 2 minutes after walking in. Was honest about our pre bought passport photo and took a new one for us. She was extremely friendly and humorous. Easy in and out for the passport processing. read more

This office deserves zero stars. Or negative stars. Right now a package of mine I'd going from Southfield to Allen Park PO. I live 5 minutes from the Southfield office. The package has been going back and forth between Southfield and Allen Park for one full week. If I didn't need the package it would be funny, but I do, and it's not. I live in the subdivision off 12 mile and Inkster. We had a postman for decades who wasn't perfect (often delivered mail to wrong house number) but the lady who works our route now actually delivers it to the wrong STREET(!) well outside my neighborhood. Thankfully, the lady who lives on Apple Blossom Ct. was very nice and even put postage on one of my letters and mailed it to me. Just this past week, a 1099 got delivered to her address, and she was good enough to bring it to my door. I've even tried to get "more flies with honey" by leaving a Thank You card with a gift card in my mailbox (flag up) but, the mail lady did not pick it up. I guess I'll have to go to the postoffice on Monday and try to straighten things out. read more

I'm disappointed that there isn't a negative star. I'd post it. Been waiting on my disability check for a month. Since that first was mailed out, the next two have been mailed out at a rate of one per week. Sadly. I'm still waiting for all three. It never stops. Ordered a furnace control board with rush delivery back in late October. The part went from Ohio to Allen Park. They wouldn't let me pick up there. It from there to somewhere in Illinois. Then to somewhere else in Illinois where it sat. It then went from there back to Allen Park and sat. Then to Southfield and eventually to my house. Of course we had the spend over 300 dollars staying in a hotel. Then they send me a survey asking how they did in resolving my issue as if they really care. Want to tell them to stop patting themselves on the back. They've never resolved any issues whatsoever. read more

Received information about a piece of mail through Informed Delivery. The mail never came so I went to the post office to inquire. First, I had to explain to the clerk what Informed Delivery was! Then she referred me to another line of disgruntled customers, awaiting the appearance of a supervisor. When I spoke to the supervisor, she told me "Informed Delivery is not accurate. You might get that mail in a couple of days." Today is a couple of days. No mail. No answer at the 800 number. No response from the "temporary" carrier. No answer at the local post office. Just be ready to wait! There is always a decent sized line whenever I visit this post office, it's inevitable. Other than the wait time, this post office can generally address whatever needs you may have. I've gotten my passport here a couple years ago and choose to come here for whatever mailing needs/concerns I have. Sooooo disappointed! I hope my review will help someone. The automated system tells us that due to the pandemic we may "walk in" without appointment for passport renewal. My husband and I took time off of work so we take our children. Sure enough, we get there and are told firmly they take appointments only. A somewhat unfriendly staff that works there. I don't mail things often, so I needed some assistance. They shamed me for the questions I asked. All I wanted to know was what type of packaging I needed to send a t-shirt and they claimed I should have already known. The incompetence here is outstanding. Tracked mail shows "attempt to deliver" when I was home waiting for package yet no delivery. Another notice says "couldnt get to door/entry blocked" but UPS delivered the same day...hmmmm. Packages placed in lock box, with out bothering to place key in our mailbox, it's open for anyone to find and take. This has happened 2 times, just this week. Unfortunately, it's not like much will be done to fix it but I am still reporting this as Southfield mail being dumped is an issue that has made news (April 2018) & (2015-16). Ridiculous. read more

Is it possible to give a negative number rating. Even 1 star is more than is warranted. The Southfield Post Office is the worst. Always long lines and not enough staff. Supervisors at this location are rude, belligerent and unwilling to help. While the entire world is suffering with COVID-19, the post office runs short-handed which makes sense, but not the lousy delivery schedule as a result of it. My entire street might get snail once or twice a week at best and that is usually after 7 p.m. Their are many instances where packages that are scheduled to be delivered are not delivered. That wouldn't be such a big deal if the "Informed Delivery" program the post office offers would have legitimate reasons for packages not being delivered. For example about 10 days ago I got a message that my package was to be delivered that day. Needless to say it wasn't, but I got an email indicating that the package was being held at the post office per my request. Not true!! The exact same thing happens to a neighbor across the street. After a call in excess of 2 hours and filing a complaint with 800ASKUSPS phone number there has been no improvement. As a matter of fact this past Saturday the situation arose again, however this time I got a message from "Informed Delivery" that stated that my package was not deliverable because of no access to the home. How is this possible when I live in a single family house in a the City of Southfield? I do not live in a gated community or a residence that requires access to the building. Again after reaching out to various departments, all you get is lip service and nothing more. I have been hung up on by supervisors. I guess the staff feels that this is acceptable because they are union members. I'm hoping that eventually my package will come because the post office will probably not reimburse me for the loss if it doesn't show up. I am so sick and tired of having verbal confrontations with them at the post office and off site support staff. They may be short staffed like almost any business that is open, but somehow other businesses get it done even without great customer service skills. If you don't like your job, leave!! I myself I don't want to go there and pick up any packages because of Covid-19 and the attitude there. It is not my fault that they are short-handed but they certainly have the ability to hire part-time staff to help get deliveries out and straighten up the mess that is in that building. The problems at that location apparently start the top and slowly make their way down and ultimately it's the drivers who end up being accountable NOT the supervisors who are giving these people lousy instructions. As I was told by someone who no longer works for the post office they are on deadlines by which the computer must be noted with reference to packages so the delivery people have been advised to stick in arbitrary codes. This is a federal job and I am just wondering why they can get away with all of this misrepresentation. It is amazing that companies like Amazon can get packages out in a couple of days when they have not been around nearly as long as the post office. Perhaps they need to be trained by Amazon and maybe problems could be partially corrected. read more

Absolutely horrible staff. I can't believe this location is in Southfield they operate like they are in the depths of the city of Detroit. I've had several pieces of mail lost/stolen because the manager "Ms Bullock" has a personal problem with me for some reason. She stated my post man said my mail box was full on March 31st and they took it upon themselves to put in a forward for my mail to get sent back to the post office or sender. I have not received mail at this point in months. When I've went up to this location to retrieve my mail they said nothing was there for me and called the police on me because I would not leave without explanation. I only came to this usps because it was on my way to a place I had to go but let me tell you it is the most slowest usps I've ever been too....so ridiculous and the workers are so rude as well as seeming like they're so bothered from every customer that comes. They are the most unhelpful people ever. Some lady tells me to get a box from the blue wall....and once I bring a box from that wall she goes this isn't the one but yet she said from the blue wall...instead of her complaining it's the wrong one why doesn't she come and show me which one and actually be helpful. She had like a disgusted look on her when she helping me like I was nothing. this was my first time here and I can tell you that it will be my last ever coming to this post office. read more

I came here to get a passport at 9am and was told I would have to sign in and wait until 10am. While waiting, I was informed that they were out of film to take the photo. After I got back from CVS To get the passport photo I was informed that the whole system was down and they couldn't do anything, no mail services and no passport services. I never post negative reviews but this place has put me in this position to do so. If I could give them a -1 I would. This has by far been the worst experience dealing with them over the past couple of days. On 1/22/21 I completed the online for for passport services which was schedule for 02/3/21. Received a call from Vanica on 2/3/21 a hour or so before my appointment to only be met with there isn't enough staff to accommodate passport services. We (family of 3) were told to reschedule, however, this was a time sensitive matter as our student was leaving the state to go back to school on 2/4/21, so we were asked to come in on that day at 3:00 pm. We arrive 10 minutes early, all documents prepared just to be told that we are not on schedule and AGAIN, there is no one to complete the applications (this time with no telephone call) due to an alleged "emergency". That is two days my daughter and I have left work early to get this completed. Not only was the sense of urgency reexplained to the representative and we asked if someone could just process our son's but she dismissive and nonchalant in a sense of "oh well. I don't know what to tell you". They are very unprofessional, unaccommodating, and inconsiderate. A professional, empathetic, great customer service experience would've been nice to see if a manager was available for assistance to process our son's application. But there were no options. If I can help it this will be the last time I deal with this location. read more

This post office is near my house. My experience with them most of the time is not good. Staff is unfriendly and rude. I've been talked down to because I didn't pack a box properly. It was my first time sending a box so large and it would have been nice if someone would have explained the process to me instead of making me feel bad about it. I also had an employee roll their eyes at me just because all I had was a twenty dollar bill to pay for my postage which came to a dollar and they didn't feel like giving me change. I have now started going out of my way to the post office in Livonia where the staff is much more pleasant and friendlier. read more

We have a great carrier at 26211 Central Park Blvd building. Our mail is always sorted correctly and delivered in a timely manner. Whenever she is off, or they switch her route, I end up having to deliver the mail to everyone else in our building, because other carriers are lazy and just throw other tenants mail in our box. I have complained about this several times. I do not get their pay for doing their job and it is annoying and time consuming. Yesterday I learned that she will be taken off her route here. I can't tell you how disappointed the people in this building are, but I can tell you I will file a complaint every time. The supervisors decisions and motives should be questioned. Apparently, our needs are not as important as those who have authority to make changes. They shouldn't try to fix what isn't broken. Just a heads up I will be filing complaints every time our mail isn't delivered in a timely manner, if I have to sort the mail, and deliver it to other tenants in this building. This will not be pleasant, and I will make it known to the Post Master General. read more
