I like this post office because it is located in Southfield, so it has that "Southfield effect." You know, it's 10 minutes from my home, 20 minutes from Detroit, 15 minutes from Royal Oak, 12 minutes from Ferndale, and 20 minutes from West Bloomfield. So it is close to anywhere I want to be. But what makes this post office so great in addition to proximity is the extended hours. It is open until 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, so I can get to the post office after work but before it closes. This post office is also open on Saturdays, until 3:00 PM I think. And even when this post office is closed it has a walk-in "Self-Service" area available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. I would have to say this is an all-around great post office. I came in to send out passport applications. I called prior to driving out of my way to this location and the phone prompt said they take walk-ins from 9am to 6pm. I walked in to a very long line. I asked one of the representatives at the counter if someone was available for Passports. She looked at me and said "don't you see all the signs saying 'by appointment only' throughout the area?" I explained that I just drove half an hour to get here, lugging my children in the car with me for their paperwork. The phone doesn't say anything about making an appointment. She then says they haven't updated the phones yet, while explaining in the same breath that Passports were by appointment since 2020. As if people are renewing passports every month and this was common knowledge. Then she asked if I wanted to make an appointment for another time...instead of just helping me and getting it over with. They are always rude, always have an attitude, and most of all not helpful. Worst experience yet, after a string of horrible mailing experiences. Safe to say we'll steer clear of this location. read more

this location is very convenient especially since their Lobby is open until 6 Monday through Friday on Saturdays They are packed so bring your patience. I come here for the automated machines and the package drop off because they've got big boxes for people like me who use their own postage meter. my only problem with this location is that you have to go inside to deposit Parcels because they have the boxes rigged so that they only accept letters at the drive-up. That's not nice. Why don't you guys make it so that people who have small packages that weigh less than 11 ounces can just put them in there because if you walk inside that's what you do? I really hope that they understand how much more convenient it would be if they just make this simple change and take those governors off of that box outside so the meter users can actually get use of the box. Thank you very much for your kind and friendly service when I have to come to the counter. Yes they're usually is aligned but after waiting you are usually greeted with hello how may I help you. Much better than some other post offices I've been to so please say thank you and hello to the postal worker who helps you because they have to deal with all sorts of personalities all day and yes we are understand what it means when we hear the term going postal. Great post office to go to if you are in need of a passport. They have their own separate line. Came on a Saturday and expected a long line but there were only a few people and it went extremely fast. They help take care of everything for you from the application to the picture and you don't need to make an appointment. it was my first time getting a passport so I was a little nervous but they were great!! read more

The customer service here is horrible and disrespectful to certain groups of people. I went into this post office today looking for a very important package that I've been expecting for 5 days now. When I look the package up is reads it's at the post office so I go there to get my package just to leave out wishing I never went there. Those lady's at the counter need to have training in costomer training or find another profession. read more

It's kind of hard to leave a review for the Post Office because well, it's...you know, the Post Office. No matter the location, whenever I have to make a trip to the Post Office or Secretary of State I fully expect long lines, less than enthusiastic staff, and a bunch of unnecessary rigmarole. It's essentially become apart of the culture: because there are consistently unfavorable experiences we have developed an expectation to have an unfavorable experience each time we go, therefore when the experience happens to be as such we're pretty much unbothered. I digress... I've been frequenting this location at least once or twice a week for the past couple of months to ship items I've sold online and I must say that each time has been an extremely pleasant experience (I know right?!). For the most part the lines haven't been too bad, but even on the couple occasions where the line has been to the door the associates made it a point to handle the crowd efficiently. I tend to see some of the same staff members each time I come in and they're all very kind and attentive. I recently had a terrible experience where an item I purchased was lost: the local Post Office of the seller lost the package and it took nearly a month for them to locate it (which, according to the internet, seems to be a problem with quite a few Post Office locations around the country???), but this has never been an issue with this location. I've mailed MULTIPLE packages from this location and they've always made it to their destination in the proper time frame and in the same condition I sent it. I know this feat is equally if not more dependent on the other channels the packages have to go through when in transit, but when the first stop gets it right I think it makes a world of difference. read more

Horrible lazy staff. Mail from informed delivery hasn't come in months. Now I'm being told that there is a pending investigation into my address because my mailbox was full in March. Also told that I won't receive mail until investigation is complete but no information on investigation is available after waiting in lines and calling to speak to supervisor for months. Also staff member Craig threw a pen at me because I demanded information on where my mail from the last thee months has went. Please Throw the whole staff away. read more

The lost packages, opened packages with paperwork removed, the missing or redirecting of mail/packages has really frustrated me. I no longer have confidence in the services offered here, and am trying to find a way around having anything delivered here. I've even had attempts to get my vendor account information stolen via phishing emails. read more

Phone service is the pits!! You can't talk to a person I don't need a machine! They have been holding a package I sent from Chicago a week ago it's baby clothes, just deliver it!!! I hope the child gets the package in the next year or the clothes won't fit!!! read more
