If I'm writing a review, you know some things need to improve... I've been coming to this location for nearly 20 years. For the vast majority of the time, things have been great. But in the last 3-4 years, things have really gone downhill. The quality of the people they've been hiring lately is piss poor. Like most places and businesses, it's the people who work there that make things bad. The employees are passive-aggressive. They do little slick/snide stuff, for example, going slow on purpose, so they don't have to serve you. They think that you don't know what they're doing, and smirk as if they're so clever, when the joke is actually on them. It just shows how pathetic and immature they are. I personally don't give a rat's ass, as long as my transactions/business is taken care of. It should be noted though, because they're probably doing this to other customers as well. You can tell that they're gossipy and messy because they always get quiet when I come in and they don't look you in the eye. Guilty, like kids with their hands in a cookie jar. Again, Unprofessional, Pathetic, and Annoying, like Gnats. I'm usually a happy, positive person, and I know that irritates some sourpusses, but they'll just have to deal with it. The only reason I drive to the physical location, is because THEIR carriers can't be trusted to scan packages properly, and on time, or THEY DISAPPEAR altogether. I run an eBay business, and have lost money because of them. When I was deployed overseas in Muslim/Arabic countries, stealing and losing people's property carry a heavy penalty. I say we bring out the whip and give lashes for every dollar lost... There is one gentleman in particular, who has ALWAYS been very Friendly and Professional. He's a solid brick of gold, and I value and honor him, as he's the only bright spot in a gaggle of twerps. There's another gentleman, who's been there for years...sometimes he's nice and sometimes he's wish-washy. I ignore his subtle passive-aggressiveness, as he just seems fed up with the job, which is understandable. Also, the Postmaster, Mr. Thompson, is very friendly, nice and professional. He probably doesn't know what the rats are up to, or maybe he does, who knows? But that's about it, the rest, in my opinion, don't amount to a squirt of piss. The United States Postal Service used to be one of the most trusted institutions in America, but, as is the case with the greater American society, things have really gone tits up. we've had the absolute worst service with our mail carrier delivering to the house next to us, as well as saying they attempted delivery yet never did because we have a ring doorbell that records everything, they also shove boxes into our mail box and leave the door open because it won't shut, I will continue to complain until I get to someone who can actually fix the screw up that this mail carrier can't seem to fix, my house is in the middle of 2 houses with our number on the front of the house we've never had this many issues in the 3 years we've been living here. read more

I noticed that this particular PO hasn't received a rating or review in a while. So, I thought I'd leave one for them. I'm new to Jacksonville and simply needed to stop by for a stamp to send off an important letter. This Post Office is very centrally located in what I assume to be downtown/business district old Jacksonville. Not too much parking but I didn't have to wait for a spot. I arrived about 10 minutes after opening and was anticipating a huge line. Sure enough, there was one but I probably only waited for 5-7 minutes. The people behind the counter were very quick, very informative and best of all, VERY friendly. It's always nice to visit the post office and not have to interact with mean or rude people. The office itself was very tidy and organized and I was relieved to walk out headache-free, unlike other offices I've been to. Good job postal workers! Keep up the good work! read more

I consistently have amazon orders delivered by this post office. Almost every time my packages are taken care of here, they're reported delivered online, but they're not actually delivered until another two days! One time I received a package over TWO WEEKS LATE, which had be reported delivered already. I can't explain how absolutely disappointed I am in the lack of efficiency and absence of thoroughness. read more

I live in Southwest Jacksonville and packages were addressed correctly first one came through Fayetteville and Jacksonville returned it to Fayetteville. My wife had our mail forwarded to my parents address while we where both gone. When she came home she went back to the post office and stopped it. Three weeks went by and we still hadn't received any mail. She went back and they told her it's not their problem it goes through a third party. Another two weeks went by and we still hadn't gotten any of our mail and it was continuing to be forwarded to my fathers house. My wife went back in and the lady behind the desk was extremely rude and unfriendly and basically said it's not their problem anymore. I understand that waiting in line at the post office is very normal. But what is not normal is that the last person in line was allowed to cut everyone and was helped while the people waiting were ignored and even denied help if we weren't "buying stamps with a credit card". I was just trying to get a money order to pay rent and the lady shewed me away to get back in line. The people in line with me were as astonished as I was about how we were ALL being treated. When I finally was helped by one of the male clerks, he made comments to me about my plain nails (?), it was so odd and rude!! Who are you to critique my hands/nails? And made to feel like I'm the unpresentable one? Just wow. I won't be going back into this particular post office, I would rather drive several more miles instead. read more

Don't try calling for anything. The line is ALWAYS busy. Hours of calling and someone picks up and it's the worst customer service known to mankind. I'd be ashamed to be a part of such an establishment. read more

I'm in this post office a few times a week shipping items off. This Post Office use to be amazing because I only ever dealt with Mr. Kyle, but since he left even a few days ago, it's been hell. He was the only pleasant one to ever deal with. I go in today, and ask to borrow tape just to tape a shipping label on with and the middle aged white lady informed me that I needed to buy some... it's never been a problem for me to use a little piece of tape for a freaking shipping label... you offer it out in the lobby for customers so why is this any different? Ok...I'll admit it. I like this post office. I gladly drive the extra time it takes to get to this one as opposed to the more convenient location by my house. I do a lot of shipping, no kidding, I'm at the post office at LEAST 4 times a week, so going to other places out in town was adding up, and we all want to ship for the best price possible. I mean shipping is super expensive, right? So the USPS does win when shipping domestically. And as long as it's under a certain size. I am able to go during the day when it's not super crowded, and I am always glad when I get Chucks window. He's friendly, pleasant to talk to, SUPER SPEEDY (FTW!) and always ask how my business is going, or how my son is doing if he's not with me. I appreciate his friendly banter and good attitude. Everyone else I've had the opportunity to deal with there is also pleasant. Unlike the other post office in town. This is the only post open on Saturday and it happens to be between 10 - 1PM. There is street parking and a private lot. Oh,and the Passport office is in the same building. read more

Have only delivered one package out of here and service was good. The clerks helped pick out a box that worked for what I needed but want too big. The delivery services on the other hand are not good at all. Wife has been waiting on a package that needs to be signed. Initial delivery was Saturday August 14th. We both stayed home and waiting in our living room with the blinds open and no one showed up. My wife stayed home all day today (August 16th) and no one showed up. I checked the mail and they left a slip in the mailbox from Saturday. We checked the mailbox yesterday and this wasn't in there. The tracking info hasn't updated either, not allowing my wife to schedule a pick up time. The driver doesn't give any effort into delivering the package to the door. My wife has a note on the door saying she was home. She saw the mail truck pass the house and keep on going down the road. I understand everywhere is understaff but it takes 2 seconds to get out of the truck and check an ID and give a package. read more

This was my go-to post office before I discovered the one closer to my office. It's a bigger place with four or five stations. The lines here can get long (especially around the lunch hour) but they seem to move quickly and the staff is nice. I also got my passport here and it was fairly painless. There is plenty of parking in front of the building, on the side street, and in a parking lot across the street if necessary. read more

The lady that worked with me was polite and helpful but the rest of the staff was rude and unprofessional. Comparing me to other customers as if I were just a big problem when I hardly even said 3 sentences to these people. I'll gladly drive the extra miles past the one closest to me on Henderson, there's an old black lady there with a 25 years of service plaque on the wall that needs to retire asap her attitude is horrid, nobody should have to experience that.
