I had ordered a curling iron and hair spray. They placed my package in my box and I could not get it out. I rang the bell for someone to assist me. The mail guy came to the door and said he will walk around to the back and get it. I told him, no walk out here and get it like you'd like for me to get it. Another man was there waiting for service and laughed at what I asked. The young man came out and wrestled with the package but eventually got it out. Even though it can get pretty packed sometimes, this U.S. Post Office is one of the best locations I have visited. The ladies at the counter have always been courteous and helpful, but there is also a self-service machine if you are not so keen on human interaction. Parking has been abundant even during busier times, but your mileage may vary. read more

Doesn't have paper to print a receipt so, I decided I'd wait in the insanely- also typical- long line. I wait, and wait, and wait and get up to the counter. Let's get some background: my package is already packaged, taped, labeled, everything is DONE. Literally. The ONLY thing the "worker" (who's getting a pay check) needs to do is scan the label print the receipt I'm seeking. N O P E. Refuses. REFUSES to print the receipt. Naturally after waiting in line and- there's no sign on the front door stating if you'd like a package receipt you can only use the self service kiosk- she refuses to help. Says, " I can't print a receipt." Let's recap again, so, all the people in line BEFORE me who did NOT have their SH$*T together for wait for it... A RECEIPT, but I who- just needed you to pick up the scan gun, do a quick click, and few clicks of the computer mouse cannot get a receipt. Truly. Amazing. THIS LOCATION SUCKS. so, if you're like me and typically are a prepared person don't go to this location. If you are one of those people that walk into the post office the hold up the line and have no clue what's going on you will not only get a receipt, but this location is 100% for you. read more

I tried calling the phone number that they give out, 713-528-7671 and it rings and rings, then cuts off. It's very frustrating dealing with these postal employees. We have a problem of business checks not being received, multiple times. Yesterday, a stack of mail (over 200 PIECES!!!) was delivered. ALL were post-marked in July, and it is SIX months afterwards. And, we check out mail on a very regular basis. I don't know what can be done with the USPS. I left a recorded message with the main post office "Customer Care Center" asking for a call back, but it hasn't been returned. read more

Every time I come to this location it's super busy. This past time I went the line was out into the lobby. However, they had 3 staff members and the line flowed quickly- only waited about 5 min total. The clerks are quick but a bit curt. If it gets me through the line quick, then I really shouldn't be complaining about their impoliteness. The negatives- since the line was so long I wanted to do the self service machine but that was unavailable the day I went. Also, they were out of a ton of priority envelopes and boxes. I wanted to ship my package in a small priority box but they didn't have any! Even worse, there was a lady there picking up mail and she was ringing the bell a good 10 minutes before anyone came to the pickup window to tend to her. So rude. It's about what you'd expect from a US Post Office. When I went today they were cash only, due to their internet system being down, and were rude to anyone who didn't happen to notice their sign saying "cash only". Which wasn't exactly obvious until you had waiting in line and saw it at the register. Oh well, it's still the less expensive option compared to other shipping services. read more

Came in twice today to attempt to mail a package. Both times the line was out the door into the self service lobby. The second time I waited for about 30 minutes and only two people were serviced that whole time and I still had about 12 people waiting in front of me. Paralyzed snail slow, with extraordinary attitude all day every day, any day, any year....ridiculous. Lazy selective treatment from these entitled protected government employees. Not only INSIDE the post office but delivery as well. My "registered letter" was delivered WITH the registration still attached. My home has the numbers on the front door. They are 6 inch numbers, so they are clearly visible, however, my mail and packages go to any one of my neighbors, DAILY. if I receive notification a package has been delivered, I know to put on my walking shoes because I will have to walk my neighborhood to find my package even though my address on my home and the address on all my mail and packages is legible, visible and matching. These employees are set up like a boss with government benefits and protection. There are no words. I recently had the extreme displeasure of watching a Youtube video where the station manager and staff acted like complete ignorant fools. The station manager isn't aware of what the policy is regarding public photography and apparently can't read her poster 7 or hasn't read the recent memos distributed regarding the topic. This is a 1st amendment protected activity under freedom of the press. To add to the horrible experience the photographers go up buy a stamp and the clerk, THERESA , at the window when asked how she is doing then tells the customer "FINE, until you got here!" What kind of disrespectful and unwarranted response is that? How dare you treat customers that pay your wages and benefits treated so disrespect. I recommend Theresa get some respect, manners, and decency considering she is dealing with the public. HORRIBLE leadership and staff exhibited at this post office. read more

I just had the absolute best experience at this post office on west gray. Bruce Howard went above and beyond to assist me. He assisted me in retrieving an envelope I dropped in the OUTSIDE box yesterday. I realised that I had not included the house number on the address because I had wanted to verify it before I wrote it. I inadvertently dropped it in without adding it. The Mail inside was not scheduled to be picked up until today at 5pm. He finished what he was doing and got another employee to cover for him while he went with me to the box and found my envelope and let me write the address on it and add it back to the box. I had to describe the envelope to him ahead of time (color of envelop, stamp type and what I had already written on the outside) to make sure I wasn't a con. I really appreciate this experience and it gives me a more positive view of the USPS!!!! read more

This office has some serious issues very likely related to employee theft. I took a package there 2 weeks ago, was told to take a picture of the tracking number, which I did , but was not provided a receipt. I won't make that mistake ever again. The package never reached its destination and the tracking number was never scanned, thus no proof the post office ever received it. I caution everyone who uses this facility to demand a receipt from staff and not rely on their suggestion to just take a picture of the tracking number. read more

Honestly, just the worst post office in a busy location. I don't get why it's always understaffed and so crowded and filled with the worst kind of people from River Oaks. I always avoid this location and was reluctant to go today but figured I would just try since I was nearby. The line was out into the lobby, understandably with covid 6 feet apart rules, but this lady was near the back and straight up cut everyone. It was so rude and no one from the post office reprimanded her. I was so angry I ended up leaving even though I was already close to the front.
