Starting to think this is the best post office in Houston ! I frequently route by it so I can go here instead of the usps by my house. It's very conventional located if you're trying to get to the other side of downtown (while avoiding the highway and downtown itself) Parking : There's tons of parking and a few handicap spots. That being said, it frequently has a full lot. The lot has some space to park outside of just the spots though Service: Their self service kiosk is almost always working unlike other usps locations. This makes shipping packages so easy! Plus the drop box is always working and my packages get scanned not too long after being dropped. The staff here is very helpful and friendly too. I don't often interact with them as the line can get long during rush hour time Supplies: I don't really buy supplies but I noticed they don't seem to have too many readily available. This is my go to post office. Shipping from this location is faster than almost all of the surrounding locations. Specifically, if you drop off a package around the time of closing, you can expect a tracking update within a couple of hours. This is in contrast to the Richmond location which will take anywhere from one to two days to provide any update. The office is also open later, until 6pm, and on Saturday until noon, which is convenient for people who have 9-5pm work hours. My only gripes with this location are that the priority mailing boxes and envelopes are locked up after the counter closes and the self service drop box is often full or closed after hours. Also, they sometimes pull the metal closing curtain before 6pm such as at 5:45pm. read more

I live within walking distance of the West Gray location. The West Gray location is a bit of a dystopian nightmare, to put it nicely. The Richmond location is clean, safe and efficient. I applaud whatever they are doing on Richmond because it makes USPS strong in the face of UPS and FedEx. Were it not for the Richmond location, I would only use UPS and FedEx. read more

This review is for Jaime (Love you Jaime). You are an angel sent from heaven. Whatever they are paying you, it ain't enough. Backstory: (For starters this took place first week of June) I was in need of a passport. Scheduled it online through the USPS website as instructed. Yall can imagine wait times get pretty long so finding an appointment within a two-week time frame, hell, even the same month is rare. Anyways, took off work to go make my appointment across town just to be greeted with "we aren't doing appointments today" (I'll leave a review for that post office if y'all want to see it, check out the Cavalcade USPS yelp). They legit didn't give a crap about me booking this appointment as instructed, not a walk-in, a legit appointment I waited two weeks for. It was that volatile. So, because I can't really do anything about them not doing appointments, I leave and go to another post office in the Heights (Love you Gina). Gina was off duty momentarily taken a breather from the chaos. I said, "I'm sorry to bother you ma'am but do y'all do passports here?" She politely said they didn't but if id hurry to La Branch location she would happily inform them I'm coming in. Sure enough, I haul ass to La Branch location, and I'm greeted by this sweet-sweet lady named Jaime who just knew I was the guy who had been driving back and forth across town for a passport appointment. I walk up to her, and she said, "did Gina send you?" with a big smile on her face and I said yes ma'am she did. Right away she got started on all the paperwork, but then BAM! Another obstacle. I pull out my proof of citizenship and it's a printed copy of my BC not the real one. I've been driving all over Houston for over two hours at this point and I know from the USPS website that I can't get an appointment until like late July. So, Jaime asks me how far away I live, I told her maybe ten to fifteen minutes. She told me she'll wait here and keep doing the paperwork while I go get it. I haul ass home, find the original copy, bring it back, bada-bing-bada-boom, everything looks good, and she sends off my paperwork. I cannot say this kind of luck will happen to you. I was pretty down on mine, so this story really just serves as a faith in humanity restored and how good people are always out there. Came to this post office as it was after 5pm and all the nearest post offices near me were already closed. This place has plenty of parking, surprisingly, for Midtown. Walking in, there was a postal worker near the entrance directing people where to go and giving advice to the customers. The line for the counter was long but I can't comment on that as I used the self service machine. The postal worker was very friendly and helped me out. This is the first time I've ever been helped, by a nice person, in a post office here in Houston. I've only been here once but my first impression was great! read more

No stars. The worst service EVER. I came into the post office and had cashier Christopher Conerly and he gave the worst customer service ever. He was very uninterested in servicing me with my many certified letters (I work at an apartment complex) and made sure to let it be known with the deep sighs and eye rolls. The entire staff need a customer service training at least the 3 that were here 5/5/2025 at 6:46 pm. They have the nastiest of attitudes and it's disgusting. read more

Came in on a Saturday morning around 9 am. This location was clean and adequately staffed. There wasn't a wait in line. I was in and out in about 5 minutes or so. Friendly staff. There is adequate parking outside. No complaints. Compared to some other locations in Houston, I would definitely return for my future mailing needs. read more

Longer hours than any other post office. They close at 7pm but really it's 6:45pm when they shut the gate and finish the last 15 minutes with the customers already stood in line. The self service station is always working and all of the options available on the station, actually work at this location. The staff is always awesome. They are helpful and friendly. I go out of my way often to come to this location for all of the above reasons. read more

This handle has been broken for who knows how long. Is it really difficult to have that taken care of? It's LITERALLY a safety hazard... it says on the warning sign to use the handle to avoid injury. Someone is going to lose a finger, seriously. With the lines this post office gets, it should be a priority to make sure the drop box is in working order. read more

This review is for fingerprinting only. I came here to get electronic fingerprinting for an FBI background check. Waited in line to pay $50 for the service and then was told to wait in the lobby (there was only one clerk at the counter). Was called in after 5 minutes. The clerk sterilized the scanner and my fingertips with alcohol wipes, which I appreciated. The bad part was their fingerprinting machine wouldn't read my fingerprints. The clerk was very nice and tried several times for about 10 minutes, but no luck. They couldn't issue me a refund via credit card, and they didn't have cash to refund either, so they had to give me a money order... There's tons of parking! read more

Understaffed to an unbelievable extent. This post office is open until 7pm, so the USPS should anticipate a heavier load. Ten people in line and ONE counter-person, completely unacceptable. But, apparently the postmaster or supervisor doesn't care. He came out to assist a courier, who he apparently knew, who was on line with a bundle of drop-offs. People complained out loud and he just walked off into the back. We waited a long time while another courier had about 20 individual priority and registered packets to send off. If this were a private business, they would be out of business. read more

There are many post offices in Houston that I flat out avoid. Either the staff is rude, there is no parking, they're busy as hell, or all of the above. This particular location had a fast and efficient staff, parking, and I was able to get in and out of the door on tax day within minutes. It's in Midtown, so it's pretty convenient for you downtown deskies. read more

Sitting in my car as I type this. Can't believe how rude the staff is at this post office. The lady behind counter today at exactly 2/24/20 4:40 Pm was extremely rude and honestly should be fired. Came in with a huge box that was already paid for and just needed to be dropped off because item didn't fit in drop box. I walk in and place it up at the counter and she's like WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! I'm like dropping off a package...??? Postage is already paid for... she's like "Why are you looking at me like that!!!! You come in dropping off a box I don't know who you are or what your dropping off!!! You could be FeD X, UPS, who knows what your doing!!!" um no I'm just A young woman in leggings and uggs in north face zip up hoodie.. trying to mail a package to my sister for her birthday.. Do I look like FED X or UPS?.... Sorry what lady ??? I didn't know I couldn't just walk in and drop off a package at the counter without being yelled at in front of the 8 people in line and making a big scene. I was raised better then that. Obviously that woman has no customer service skills. I felt so bad and embarrassed that I honestly turned around grabbed my package back and am taking it to another post office. Don't ever in your life even bother. These idiots charged me for a POBOX that has no locks and no working keys. Refunded my credit card payment with a money order that they then had to cash at the same time. How does any of that make sense? By the way it took 2 trips and 7 phone calls, 2 emails to get a refund on a pobox that never worked. I stood in line to update my change of address as it said I could. EDNA advised me to revert back to the letter. The letter states ICAN DO THIS HERE AT THE OFFIXE AND HAVE YOU DO IT.... Why would you have not assisted me EDNA? Now I have to stand back in line because I have received an error message stating I did not ask them to forward my mail. EDNA then takes my letter to the back to a 'stupid visor' apparently USPS isn't universal which is why they can't tell me what's wrong, and I have to go to another post office for them to figure out why the error message is being displayed... a week later I go to the post office I was referred to ( which is another review on its own) bc they are closed on weekends. That post office isn't lost as EDNA and states 'you have 20 days from the time your request is put in til the letter automatically expires. Reason for this is because they need to confirm your identity... had Edna and her supervisor took the time out before Christmas break to properly address the situation, I'd probably have the right answer and resolve the issue then. thanks Edna and supervisor for all your years of service. OK I know, yes I KNOW! The Post Office has LONG been a joke when it comes to any real customer service but I need to get this off my chest. Sold a condo and told the buyer I would get the mailbox lock changed for them for their security as the unit was a rental before. Have done this before and went down to wait the 15 minutes in middle of afternoon to file the request and pay the fee. They only had 1 person working the front and she said I should just call or go online to request the service as she wasn't certain how to do it and the supervisor would be busy for 15 or more minutes - AWESOME, I always prefer online. But no clear path their so I call the 800 number, 7 minutes to get the option to talk to a human then abruptly disconnected after 15:12!!! Why would I take the time to review a post office!? I'll tell you why! My job requires frequent trips to a post office. I lived in Midtown for 7 years and was closest to the West Gray location. Save for one person who retired last year, the employees, and there were never more than 2 working the counter at the same time, were surly and excruciatingly slow. The building has seen better days and USPS supplies were always thin or non-existent. The APC (Automated Postal Carrier?) was down often or out of stamps and the drop off bin was locked more often than not. Parking and getting in and out of that location was bonkers due to the small lot. The downtown Franklin location (now closed, site is to be more high rises y'all!) was not much better but at least they had more people. Enter the new Hadley location. Where have I been? It's been open since May and I just found out!? New building, ample room to pack and work. AND THE EMPLOYEES ARE HAPPY! I was there yesterday and there were 3 working. And wearing some sort of Christmas or holiday garb! One guy had on an elf hat! And they were playing Christmas music! Yes, it's a Christmas miracle! I'm not going to tell you their super hours because I don't want to cause a stampede. Although there is lots of parking for your horse and buggy. In the olden days (way before my time, people) the local post office was a place to gather, gossip, I mean, talk and learn about what your neighbors are doing. We have social media for that now... Thank you USPS and Hadley location postal workers for exemplifying excellence!! I had to yelp about how awesome y'all are! It is such a pleasure to not dread going to the post office. read more

Honestly, I don't like leaving reviews but I had the most uncomfortable experience ever at this location. As soon as I walked up the man that helped me immediately complained about the amount of items I needed to mail off. To the point where I asked him how he was doing and he ignored me to complain. I brushed it off and again asked him how he was doing and he gave me a short "good". He had to clarify the address on maybe 3 out of the 18 items I shipped and he continued to say how I was making it hard for him. Every question he had I immediately clarified and apologized just out of pure kindness. He just continued to make comments about it taking long, being difficult etc etc. It was so uncomfortable...he was acting as if I was just such a huge inconvenience and not treating me like a customer. If I could've shipped the items myself if I could have. When it came time to make the payment his pin pad wasn't plugged in and he started again to huff & puff about how he wasn't about do all that work again as if it was my fault his pin pad wasn't connected. I sat there patiently as he worked on fixing it. I didn't complain not one time even though he clearly didn't extend the same kindness to me. It took him about 10 minutes to enter the items I was shipping btw. It took him about 20 minutes to fix his pin pad. When the transaction was complete I thanked him and he gave me a very dry your welcome. It just didn't feel good at all. I don't want to be treated that way ever again so I'll just go to another location. read more

This used to be a hidden gem. Now Hadley street post office has declined and has an average of three stars. Even these are not well deserved. The number of employees has been reduced and the speed and friendliness of these employees has dropped dramatically. There is also the question of attitude. I came to this post office after hours to buy stamps from the automated vending machine. Unlike the first post office I went to, the vending machine was actually working properly. Unlike the second post office I went to, it actually had a vending machine at all. Unlike the old location on Franklin (which is now an event venue), parking is plentiful and it's not right in the middle of downtown. I may issue a revised review once I have interactions with the staff and can more fully evaluate the facility. But so far, I like what I have seen. read more

I made an appointment for passport photo & book at 9:45 am. Only one gentleman was ahead of me. They took him back as I was sitting down to wait my turn as the front desk clerk had asked me to. Thirty minutes passed. 45 minutes passed and I asked her how much longer the wait would be. It was evident she forgot about me. I waited by her desk for ten minutes and she repeatedly told employees that were in the back Room that one of them needed to come out and "do this passport because her appointment was almost an hour ago." No one wanted to come do their job. I waited 5 more minutes and finally the male manager who wears thick rimmed glasses decided to come out and stamp the papers. Several of my packages have gone missing at this location. This needs to be investigated. Their story always changes. One minute customers are told 'packages go to the warehouse then they come to the local post office' then customers are told ' they need to verify the signature of who signed at the post office.' I was even told not to expect my Package the same day that it's delivered. Based on that feedback I came here on Saturday, January 8th to pick up 4 packages. I received confirmation that all items were delivered to the Hadley Street location 4 days prior. I even checked on Friday and there was no notification via the yellow slips they put in PO Boxes. I thought that was strange. The line was long on Friday so I figured maybe they need more time to sort packages based on what the Manager told me so I planned to be first in line on Saturday, January 8th. I was sure to bring confirmed proof from the shipper (UPS and FEDEX) of the deliveries. I even had proof of signature from a staff member at the Hadley Street location. I checked my PO Box for the yellow slip that lets customers know they have a delivery. Nothing was in my PO Box but trash and mail for people I didn't know. The customer in line in front of me said that his packages were missing. He Provided proof from the shipper that the package was delivered 10 days ago. I chimed in and said the same thing had happened to me. THEN the customer behind me said their packages were missing too. We all were told conflicting stories and when we demanded answers we were told 'they ain't here' by a staff member who then walked off. DO NOT UTILIZE THIS POST OFFICE LOCATION. read more
