Returned keys to closed P.O. box and noticed how run down the interior and exterior of this post office is. It looks like a scene from one of the apocalypse movies where the buildings are decaying aand vegetation has taken over everything. The counter area is closed, so I had to ring the bell to get someone to come to the door where the ongoing mailbox is. I explained why I was there and that I couldn't recall the P.O. box number, but asked if she could look up my account by my name. She was a little reluctant, but grabbed the list, found my name,and supposedly checked me off as having returned the keys. I sure hope that this place is cleaned up, soon. This is a island of urban blight in an otherwise decent area. They don't mow the grass and the parking lot is in complete disrepair. As far as service, there are none. Other than a doorbell (yes, a doorbell next to a plain door) which, after several minutes, gives you access to a grumpy employee who is useless to help you in any way, there are no services. They removed the blue drop-off box, and the lobby has been "temporarily closed" for repairs for a year now with no work done. The whole place smells like mold. It's dirty. And for months, the front door wouldn't even close because it was broken. The whole place has serious "abandoned due to zombie apocalypse" vibes. If you could construct a monument to tetanus, this is what it would look like. I seriously regret getting a PO Box on this location and using it for my business. I'd change it to another location if it didn't mean redoing business cards, notifying customers, and hoping they didn't accidentally send mail to this address. read more

The staff are nice but I am disappointed that they removed the self serve kiosk. That really helped to mail things after hours. Now I have to rush after work to get in here by 5pm. As long as you inside their door before 5 even if there is a line. They will tell you they are closed at 5pm and to come back. read more

I love our US Postal Service. It's easy to find on Google Maps or USPS.com whenever I needed. For some reason, this wasn't on Yelp. The line was not long and it was early afternoon on a Friday. Parking lot was quite empty, actually. They extra foliage covered part of the sign. I couldn't notice there was a post office here many times I drive by. I was just here the other day to send a certified letter with signature confirmation card. With social distancing, I was serviced pretty quickly. Teller was friendly and efficient. I even joked about the song she was jiving to. "This song is perfect to get your weekend started," as they had soothing R&B in the background. Facility is very clean. Customers were very cordial. I appreciate they follow the CDC's COVID-19 mandates with mask requirement and limited capacity. I would come back more often. read more

First they removed the outside drop off box. Then they took out the self-service kiosk and drop off box in the lobby. THEN, they closed the service desk entirely so the only limited things you can do here are buy stamps with exact change or drop off packages. And in order to do that, you must go inside and ring the bell for a little service door, and be prepared to wait 10-15 minutes. The people who answer the bell always seem mad, no matter what time a day or if you ring it once or repeatedly, like its a hassle to have to deal with (i'm sure it actually is, to be fair). They do still have po boxes here but you have to go to another location to oay for them. I'm not sure why they don't just close; its useless for service and has been for over a year now. Sign still says "reopening soon" for service desk; its dated December 2023. Zero stars, left this hood without mail access. Also, they never mow anymore, so their grass is waist high and breeding mosquitos & has totally overgrown the sidewalk out front by the road, forcing pedestrians to walk in the street to pass it. Picking up a package... My Post Office experiences are always fun! For this trip, I received a delivery notice slip in my mail box, which told me which post office to go to. I went to the window and the lady could not find my package. She wrote my information down and said she will look for it in the morning and call me back the next day. I waited 2 days and called the Post Office and was told to go check my mailbox. Nothing being in my mailbox, I called the post office back and spoke to the nicest woman: Gloria. THIS is my favorite USPS! It is a shame that our local neighborhood USPS has been targeted likely because of the valuable property it sits on. Will the property be seized and our USPS destroyed with the property sold for condos? I see on here complaints re mowing of grass, quality of building, items being moved or removed. Yet, these things are not controlled by the workers at the building. The outdoor drop-off mail box for instance was removed supposedly because of crime. Why not install security cameras and catch the criminals instead of punishing the elderly in the neighborhood? I had to complain to my Congressman to get the USPS manager to have the grass mowed. The items indoors were moved because of "vandalism." Again, security cameras would deter criminal activity. Etc., etc., etc. It's an older building with many long-term employees I have done business with for over 25 years...all, very polite and helpful. They are not the problem. The Board of Governors IS the problem. Bring back my USPS! Got a complain about what the USPSBG does or does not do? Send them an email at BOG-Inquiries@usps.gov. Pros: they have a postal machine such that you can mail things when they are closed Cons: 1 out of 3 times the machine didn't work. Twice it's cut the postage stamp so that part of it is missing (hopefully my letters still sent). If you do a transaction that's less than $1 you have to buy a stamp to go with it such that it's over a dollar. Each thing you mail is a separate transaction so your credit card company might freak out and turn your card off (like mine did once). It would be nice if the machine was more modern but it seems an on par replacement for the people you general find working at the post office. read more

Ok this is my local post office. I used to actually wait in the ridiculous long line to mail items, until I realized they had an automated machine outside the door. Seriously, if you do not know what you are doing with this thing go stand in line and let the semi-education use these machines. I usually mail out bags full of stuff from ebay purchases and using this machine I can get out like 20 items in about 10 minutes. Now why does the long build up? Because the people at the post office don't care how long the line is if it's break time, it's break time. I've seen a line of 10 people and the lady says see ya in 30 minutes. We were still in line of course 30 minutes later... Now for the passport section. One lady runs this section and is very friendly. She takes your picture fast and knows all the answers to any questions you may have. If it wasn't for this lady this place would have definately been a 2 star and without the automated machine it would have been a 1 star, so all in all if you actually need a post office avoid this one! read more

Pretty much like any other US Post Office out there. Simple building. Pretty clean actually. I went around 10:30am so it wasn't too early in the morning but of course the 3 staff that I saw working at the front looked like they would rather be anywhere else but here. I understand though since that's what everyone who works for the government would be like. I'm sure it's no one's dream job. It was funny though because the staff member I went to was so light hearted, kind, and happy with the customer right before me because they seemed to know each other or have a mutual friend from what I overheard. After many visits to this post office I had to write a review to fill you all in. So I recently mailed a package and it was not scanned at the post office. I have no idea where it is. I sent it priority flat rate and pre printed my postage because I sell on EBay. The post office is not required to scan your package. I am sure that you guys didn't know that but no they can just send it to the hub (wherever that is) and have them scan it there or never scan it until it reaches the final destination. As it turns out, even though I paid the full price online of $13.45 for this package, whichever post office receives it is not required to scan it because they are not paid to scan prepaid packages. This makes me furious because each post office may have a budget but all post offices are supported by the members of it's community. I never heard of this scenario until today and I can tell you this, they have lost a customer. Besides that, from personal experience I can tell you that a lot of the workers at this post office take their jobs for granted and a few are quite lazy and ignorant. Use them at your own risk! This post office suffers from chronic lack of politeness and competence. Whenever you go, there is nobody to acknowledge you. If you need something little bit more complicated than simply mailing a letter-good luck with that. In the past, I had to mail one package abroad and I wanted to make sure it gets there for sure and that I have proof of delivery. Well, good luck that. After I started asking questions, the lady gets annoyed, starts raising her tone. Unfortunately, her thick southern accent gets even thicker, so i struggle to understand. EnVery uncomfortable experience. I have been using this post office for years. I have never, ever, ever experienced anything better than mediocre service. Unless you are absolutely horrified, you normally don't write a negative review for a USPS office. Due to an internal error, which had been later acknowledged by the store manager, a very important package shipped as Global Express Guaranteed was returned to the sender by mistake. Although the store manager acknowledged that it was their system error, he could not neither issue a refund, nor reship the package with the original postage. The excuse was, they didn't know how. When I called 1-800 number and asked for the same refund, they didn't know how to handle the refund process either. the While USPS claims that Global Express Guarantee will honor money back if the package is not delivered in time, they cannot honor the refund when the package is not even shipped!? Am I missing something here? The package was eventually shipped with FedEx with zero issue. Surprisingly, I was told that these USPS Global Express Packages are usually handed to Fedex anyway. What a joke. You don't know how to handle your business, and you expect your customer to do it for you? read more

I view going to the post office as a necessary evil. I have to send something that is not a letter, thus, requires a trip to the post office. Unfortunately, this is the one closest to my home and I manage to go during weekday mornings when I have something to mail. You'd think, who has to go to the post office at 10:30 in the morning on a weekday? Aren't people working? Nope! The past few times I've been here, there's always a line at least 6 people deep. There's usually one, maybe two people working...slowly. Naturally, one or two people in line are present to purchase stamps. The first question out of the employee's mouth is, "Did you see the stamp machine outside the lobby?" The answer is always, "No, but I wanted to use a credit card," to which the employee responds, "It has a credit card slot." Perhaps USPS should post a better sign to inform customers. Today, by the time I get to the front of the line, there are 6-7 people behind me. The two employees BOTH leave the counter to get change, leaving the lobby empty of workers for about 2 min. Seriously?!? One of you can't start helping me while you're waiting for cash and I'm using my credit card anyway? Overall, when the employees actually are helping you, they are friendly and courteous. They close so early in the evening--5 pm. If you get a notice to pick up mail, there is no way you're making it after work. At least they're open for a few hours early Saturday morning. read more

As a man who mails things often, I've been to my share of post offices. I must say that this post office location is mediocre at best. They do have the basic essentials such as shipping labels, shipping supplies, and adequate counter top space. However, the walls are usually bare and it almost feels like I'm shipping things out of a small USPS warehouse as opposed to a local post office. If you've been to this place before, you know a Yelp review cannot be complete without commenting on the gentleman that works at the counter. He's the tall man with the deep baritone voice. You know who I'm talking about. At first I thought he was pretty annoying because he would say the same thing over and over again, but after a few visits, his presence and jokes have grown on me. It's definitely better to hear him than to stand in awkward silence as I have many a time at post offices. read more

This is the only Post Office for the Medical Center. The other one that's kinda close by is the one by Target. This one will satisfy the needs of most people. The actual service is okay. The lines tend to be long when you actually go. The service is slightly slow and helpful only sometimes. BUT, what I care about is the 24/7 automatic shipping center in the entry way. It works perfectly, the balance is not off, they take credit cards, and you can drop off your package at any time. They do have some of the packages that they offer in that hallway, but not most of them. I use this place about once a week, and the automated center has never let me down. If you look up "necessary evil" in the dictionary you find a pictures of the DMV and post office. Never a fun trip unfortunately but it has to be done. This is my local post office and I come here often...it's not that bad. Lines are usually 2-4 people deep and service is what it is. It's not the ladies fault behind the counter that you waited 10 mins and had your stuff labeled wrong or in the wrong box. It's also not the postal workers responsibility to entertain you while you're there. Be friendly and assertive and you should have no issues here. In a nutshell: blink and you'll miss it--but honestly, you ain't missing much. Why do Houston city planners have so much self-loathing for the city they themselves (presumably-- maybe they were outsourced) inhabit? The laughable drainage system, the spraaaaaaaaaawwwwlling city itself, and now, the postal system. This post office has the closest blue outgoing mail box (whatever the word for that ACTUALLY is) to where I live, but by golly if I don't have to travel two or three times the distance it ACTUALLY takes to reach this aforementioned box. Why, you ask? Because heading north up Alameda, there is NO visible signage until you've basically missed the entrance to their driveway, so I have ended up circling around quite a few times... I went inside today for the first time to buy stamps and was not very impressed either. Feels like there's barely any AC going on in there (keep in mind the high was more than 90F today; can't imagine what it's going to be like there later in the summer), and in fact the storefront seemed a little bit like a prison. The people seemed nice enough, though. Service was fine, though slow (only 2/3 counters were open). I would like to say I'm not coming back, but I don't think I really have a choice. read more

This post office location is a pretty average post office. I prefer to go to the mini post office at Rice University, but they only have basic capabilities. When it's time to do serious postal work, I come to this location. The line is usually long and slow in the mornings as people stop in on their way to work, but there isn't any avoiding that! I went during an oddball time during the day once, and there were only 2 people in front of me! It was amazing. I do have to say that although the service I have received has been hit or miss, one woman who worked there spent a lot of time helping me figure out the correct postage for my wedding invitations. I mean, she really went above and beyond for me, which actually makes me want to go back. It's a strange feeling. To make your trip easier, if you have to pick up a package, you can just knock on this random door inside the lobby next to the mail doors and a dude will pop out and help you instead of you waiting in line. I think they might actually be there doing that a little before opening time? Anyway, a post office trip always sucks, but really, this location isn't so bad. read more

I love how close this post office is to me. It has a little drive thru area to throw your mail in the mail box. On the inside there is normally a line of about 5 people that takes about 14 minutes to get through. I have really only seen one person working it so I understand it takes awhile and they do go as fast as they can... I think. If you just have to pick up a parcel there is a half door where you do it instead of standing in line. And that door is open much earlier than the normal line. I believe it is 6 AM. So if you need your package quick that's where you go! There is also the little kiosk thing to pay for postage and buy stamps, but you can't pick which stamps you get if you use it, just and FYI. read more

Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds....used to be their motto. But getting packages delivered to a gated condo, going up an elevator to the third floor is too dangerous. I've gotten a package delivered in mailbox lost and had to email twice, then call (waited a hour) to be told my inquiry was closed and there's nothing they can do to help. So, almost $60.00 lost. I'm disabled and asked that packages are sent to my door, that can only happen IF they receive a letter from my physician, then they'll think about it. Now I have to pay someone to go ALLLL the way to their post office on Almeda to pick up what's there. This has GOT to change and I'm going to find a way. 3rd floor's too dangerous...what the hell!!! read more

So whoever posted earlier that said this post office is open on Saturdays was not truthful! I raced over here to mail a letter (because it seems like no post offices in Houston are open on Saturday), and the window was closed. There was a side door that said open on Saturdays until noon but it was shut. I rang the door bell and I managed to buy a stamp from a random lady and give the letter to the mail carrier before he left at 12:30. But yeah, not really open on Saturday unless you have pre-stamped letters. read more
