Lazy P.O.S. carrier wouldn't deliver packages in the snow. Instead they opted to mark them for return because of incorrect address. How on earth have I been getting my mail from the USPS using the same address for the last month? Last week they delivered a smaller package that fit in my mailbox from the same retailer. So that pretty much confirms my theory. The common driveway to my townhome was plowed twice today, no excuse carrier. FedEx/UPS no problems ever. These people should find another line of work if they aren't going to take their jobs seriously. "Through rain, sleet or snow....." remember that, ya right! read more

I wish I could give a zero star. I had asked for mail hold with the instruction that I would be picking up the mail from the post office when I returned. When I came back, my mailbox was packed with mail because the mail person delivered all the mail on the last day of hold ignoring my instruction. Thank God my flight was not delayed or cancelled and I got home at night to get all the mail out of the mailbox. Not knowing whether all my mails had been delivered, I tried calling the direct number (630 area code). I called more than 6 times and no one picked up the phone. That is really pathetic. So I had to make a trip to make sure that I didn't have any additional mail on hold. And there was no additional mail. An unnecessary trip which could have been avoided if the customer service folks had the courtesy to answer the phone-this is how our tax money is being spent. When I was there, I wanted to talk to the supervisor to make sure that my instructions are followed next time I put mail on hold. So they paged the supervisor-about 10 times and after 20 minutes of wait, a non-supervisor came to me to write down my complaint to give it to supervisor. Not sure what these people do during work hours- cann't follow instructions, can't pick up the phone and can't come to the front desk when paged. That is how our postal service works. I've been to this post office twice in the past 5 days, and I had such a pleasant, positive experience both times. And this is during the crazy Christmas season rush! Absolutely no line either time (midday), and I was greeted today by a super nice woman who scanned in my pre-paid packages right as I walked in (no need to go to the counter). Everyone was polite, professional and helpful. Trust me, I've had my fair share of poor postal experiences. However, this location has been great, and I believe in giving credit when it's due. It's hard working with the public, and these folks deserve a shout-out. read more

Horrible postal service; it is very convenient to have the postal service pick up your mail from home. You simply put the mail in your mail box, raise the red flag and the carrier will pick up your mail. The problem with this is that your mail is not being delivered timely or not at all. I addressed my correspondence to a Chicago company 3 1/2 weeks ago and it has not been received yet and there is no way to track your mail after it has been picked up. This causes late payments. :( read more

I wish this was a positive update, alas it is not. We still consistently do not receive our bills (and have had to pay late fees because of this) get other people's mail, etc. My faith in the USPS is gone. Our mailman and whoever works at the sorting center obviously take no pride in their job. It's to the point where I feel more sadness than anger because these people obviously don't care about their job, and they should because they are providing an important service to people. I was without mail for 2 weeks. I called customer service every day for 9 days with a 2 hour waits each time. Our mailbox would not open. Everyone at customer service said my carrier would call me 9 times. I went to the post office three times in one day. No one even cared that I wasn't getting my mail. When they finally gave me my mail it had so much mail jammed In that it broke the lock.overfill. The caRrier even sent some of of our mail back to the distribution center. I had my mail was put on on my porch. I had to go to the po and raised HELL. I was escorted out. They threatened to call the police. But I finally got my box working and they said the lock was broke and I would have to pay $35 for a new key. The box belongs to you not me. My mail should come everyday!!!!! The carrier continues to overstuff my box. Even pushed a pair of shoes into the box. I went back to the office yet again to get assistance and because I raise my voice the security guard unlawfully escorted me out. But did it heave to cause a scene to resolve the problem read more

I had a terrible experience at this location today. I ordered something online and it had arrived at the post office yesterday. Today, I had waited OUTSIDE where I had it shipped to and they didnt even bother to try delivering it. As I was sitting and waiting I received a notification that it was being held. I called to see if I could come pick it up (the employees on the phone were pretty helpful) and they said it would be ready for pick up later in the day. So I drove almost a half hour to get there and the woman at the counter wouldnt even bother looking. She beat around the bush with her answers and said I might get it on Monday. We get our mail at different times with different carriers. Along with occasional mail from a resident a street over from where we live. Same person all of the time. Magazines are torn and dog eared. Today had a catalog delivered with only the outside front and back pages, stamped by the post office that this was all that they received. We have a woman carrier who parks the post office vehicle on the side of the street where no parking is permitted. I know that there's two sides to every story.......sure would like to hear theirs. I will say that I'm happy that we still have carriers that deliver mail to our houses. They work long hours in variable climates. I appreciate them! Just wanting the postal process to tidy up and be better organized. The Post Office needs to make their employees happy! read more

I have heard another person refer to this place as "Satan's Post Office". I refuse to go to this facility anymore due to the fact that the service is deplorable. All of the workers behind the counter have attitudes and they take their sweet time to do menial tasks instead of helping you the customer. I pre print my labels at home and have been refused service for having the "sent from" zip one town off because they don't get credit for it on their monthly quota (that was their actual response!). They regularly have lines out the door which I have stood in for as much as 45 minutes because the workers take their sweet time. They need to either retrain their workers at this location, fire them all and give people that need jobs a chance, our close this facility. I went to this facility regularly for about 3 months but now refuse to and drive all the way to montgomery to avoid aurora usps. Do yourself a huge favor and take your mail to another post office. read more

WARNING if you're trying to use an Aurora Illinois Post Office. I live in Michigan, last Christmas I mailed 3 separate cards with $40 gift cards from Target to my niece's kids in Aurora IL. They never received one of them! Ever! Now, October 21st I mailed a check to another nephew who is going to Aurora University. He has not yet received the card with a check in it. It is now November 4, 2014. Has this location eve had an official investigation into the poor service? Way past time. read more

I just watched my mailman pull up to my mailbox and put my mail in it. When I went out to get the mail I found a non delivery slip saying that they missed me. The mailman never got out of the truck and never came to my door. I watched him drive to the next house. When I called the 800 number on the slip to complain, there was no option to speak to a real person or leave a message. Great service huh? NOT! read more

We ship using USPS all over the US and Internationally and spent a huge amount of money using USPS. We have lots of experience with different postal locations and sort facilities and can inexplicably say that the Aurora, IL post office is one of the worst in the nation. They rarely or NEVER answer the phone, and they blatantly lie about the status of a package in an effort not to deliver it. We don't know if it is just plain ignorance on the postal workers part or just laziness, or a combination of both. Recently we had a package shipped to a customer and first they said the package was refused, then said it was addressed incorrectly.. It took seven days to deliver the package which should of been delivered in two..(only one day with United Parcel to the same zip), and the customer had to retrieve his package at the Aurora office himself...We are confident that if the customer had not retrieved the package himself it still would be sitting there. The Aurora office suffers from a complete lack of care and a total lack of intelligence and needs a complete management change. We will use UPS in the future and/or Fed Ex and can only hope that the brain dead employees who work there have just half the bad experience that we had when they mail a package within their own broken system. read more
