I decided it would be funny to call up this FedEx location and pretend I was shipping a tank. I gave the dimensions of 80 ft long by 20 ft wide and 20 ft tall. The clerk with whom I spoke didn't even falter! Then he asked for the weight. I told him it was in the vicinity of 10 tons, and rather than catch on to the joke, or hang up, HE STARTED CALCULATING HOW I COULD SHIP MY IMAGINARY TANK. After talking to another employee, a consensus was reached that while I COULD SHIP MY FAKE TANK THROUGH FEDEX, I would have to go to a separate location and get special shipping. The employee then estimated it would cost me somewhere in the ballpark of five figures, thanked me for my business, and wished me a nice day. Now if I ever actually buy a tank, I know who I am going to!

I walked in because I was in a rush to get something to a dear friend in Australia. There was James at the counter. Beaming. That smile could light up the Taj Mahal. I explained my dilemma, being that I'm a victim of chronic procrastination, and he helped me get my package on its way in no time. But wait, there's more. This is one of the things that sets him apart. After just that one visit, a few days later, I walked in, and as soon as I stepped foot in the door, he called me by name, saying hello. What a brilliant memory for faces/names he has. This time, I had yet another package for that same Australian friend. He had me in and out the door in about three minutes because of his recollection and his efficiency. My most recent visit was just a few days ago.
