We had to either bring in our own tape that we got from the dollar store or Staples; or purchase the three or four dollar tape from here. This was once a free benefit but not for the last 5 years. You want rude and indifferent postal employees - please drive 7 miles south to the Post Office on W John St in Hicksville, wait 12-15 minutes in line and then deal with someone who just hates everything. Seriously! What she missed out on: 1) A great location with dozens of parking spots( rare on Long Island - just try parking at the New Hyde Park, Hicksville, Levittown or Syosset Post offices). 2) Amazing staff that bend over backwards, know your name, work with you when you travel regarding holding mail and get through that line in less than a minute. Huge props and kudos to Raj who is a gem- solid, professional, polite, calm( I have seen a crazy Old Brookville entitled resident ream him out for taking too long with an elderly gentleman who was having a hard time counting his money & coins and was moving slowly) . Raj just smiled and continued. Humanity, Love and Care are very much alive and here to stay in the Glen Head Post Office. Freddy (photo from March 2025)is also just a wonderful person who is a worker. 3) This location is always well stocked with all the necessary postal forms. They have cute greeting cards. They always have PENS at the end of those strings on each table. There is enough room to stand, spread your stuff and write. 4) I have seen how efficient they are with the Passport appointment and explaining everything. 5) The USPS rates and fees are standard and the same everywhere. I do appreciate the fact that they have the flat rate boxes in different sizes - I have sent many care packages and shirts n souvenirs to my grandkids and family in California for 25 years. Thank you for that and the $100 insurance included at no extra charge. Thank you Glen Head PO for also being open on Saturdays.

I had noticed the line and was trying to fix it as quickly as possible. As I left, he clearly was annoyed and explained to the customers behind me that I was the reason for the wait.

Neil, Kate, Lori and the gang all do an OUTSTANDING job dealing with my occasionally odd shipping requests with courtesy, professionalism and proficiency. What's more, to their credit, they do a commendable job of dealing with the spoiled, entitled, miserable jackasses who populate the vicinity, some of whom have already apparently commented below on this entry. Thanks for years upon years of excellent service. Keep up the great work, guys.

So I live in the East Norwich district but I usually go to Oyster Bay Post office. One day I didn't have time to go to OB post office so I went to East Norwich. I had to mail a package. I didn't have any tape at home so I figure I will just wait till I get to the post office. I waited on line forever not to mention it wasn't even that many people in there it's like he just didn't want to help me finally it was my turn. Everything was an issue with this guy. First I ask for tape, he stated we don't have tape. ok I said to myself this is a post office how do you NOT have tape. so I say can I buy some tape he goes we don't have tape. Oooook then, can I purchase a book of stamps. He states we don't have any. Next I asked, Can I use your scissors please, he states I don't have any. So at that point I'm just thinking this is not so much a customer service issue it's a race issue now. So I said what am I suppose to do and he states I don't know. So I left because I knew my presence wasn't welcome there. On the other hand my mail man Matt is awesome. I couldn't have been blessed with a better mail man then him. Even when people mess up my address he knows that's it my mail. When my name is spelled incorrect with a incorrect address he knows it belongs to me. Matt has been serving me way other 10 years and has never let me down. When I do get someone else's mail I automatically know that Matt is on vacation cause Matt will never make that mistake. If you're looking to ship something the same day you should try to…read morego earlier in the day -- it seems like the truck comes to pick up packages anywhere from 4:45-6pm. Not 100% sure but I think if you drop something off after the truck comes by then your package will be shipped out next day. I haven't had any issues here and some packages have arrived faster than I was expecting! Plus it's right next door to a cookie place :)

This is the worst Post Office ever for delivery. I wish I could give them zero. The carriers have plenty of non-working holidays but I believe they make their own holidays like "Tuesday" and "Friday". The icing on the cake was not getting two packages delivered the other day with an "alert" excuse of "Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location" which is total BS! So government workers are allowed to outright lie? Good to know. The pits!
