Very cool historic site that has much more to offer than I was able to enjoy in a day. I'm not a…read morehuge historian, but it was quite remarkable to see the part of the country that has been preserved and restored to match the original colonies. We got to see a barrel being made, a cannon being fired (dry fired), a court session, and lots of buildings and other historical items. The person I was with has been here a few times and said they have options to stay on site and also there are several very good places to eat. Would be a great place for the family or yourself if you want a piece of Americas history.

Colonial Williamsburg should be so much easier to visit than it is…read more We visited as a family and were really looking forward to the experience, but left disappointed largely because the wayfinding is so poor. The printed map is surprisingly difficult to use, directional signage is inadequate, and it is often unnecessarily hard to work out where you are and how to get to the next attraction or program. And it wasn't just us. I lost count of how many visitors we saw standing staring at maps, apparently trying to figure out where to go next. This was especially frustrating because someone in our party has limited mobility following recent surgery. Walking several hundred yards in the wrong direction isn't just an inconvenience in that situation. In 2026, a major attraction covering an area this large should have proper smartphone navigation. You should be able to select "Governor's Palace," a particular program, restaurant, restroom, or bus stop and get GPS walking directions from your current location, along with distance, accessibility information, and estimated walking time. Better physical directional signs are badly needed as well. There is so much history here and clearly an enormous amount of work goes into preserving and interpreting it. The problem is finding it. Colonial Williamsburg could be a wonderful visitor experience. Unfortunately, today we spent far too much time trying to figure out where we were and where we were supposed to go. This is a very fixable problem, and I hope they fix it.

Going to the post office has always been simple. Buying post stamps and shipping off items have…read morebeen my go-to at this location. For this visit, we needed to get a collection of stamps. Sophia usually handled that arena by mostly ordering online, but we were running short so I was given the task to pick some up. It was right after I got off work so I stopped by on the way home. Foot traffic was very minimal which resulted in no wait at all. I actually stood in line for no longer than 15 seconds. As stated earlier, it was for buying a book of stamps. To my surprise, the cost for the book was over $14. Back when I used to ship items off by mail, stamps cost under $10. It's crazy to see the prices go up each year. Unfortunately, we have to accept the changes and move on. Besides the price increase, the transaction went smooth as usual. I know this location will always come in handy for yours truly. Till next time :)

The lady that works at this post office is ridiculous. I 100% understand you close at 5. I was…read morereturning 2 separate things, had my packing slips printed out, I just needed to put them in 2 little bubble wrap packages and then give them to her. I showed up at 4:45 because that's when I could get there. This lady was yelling at me the WHOLE time complaining that "I showed up right before they close" I grabbed the 2 bubble wrap packages I needed and went to put the items in there (hadnt even been there 1 minute) and she yelled "I'll do it" and grabbed the stuff out of my hands even though she had no idea which package went with which packing slip. I got irritated and told her she needs to give me a minute, good thing I checked because she had the wrong package with the wrong slip. She complained the whole time talking about "Everyone shows up right before I close, I'm sick of this I need to get off work on time, don't you want to get off work on time, management needs to change the hours we need to close at 4:30 because you guys are ridiculous showing up before we close, I can't do this" blah blah blah. I get it she wanted to go home. But I was hurrying, and would've been done in 2 seconds but her complaining and yelling made everything take even longer. People showed up after me with packages that literally just needed to be scanned, and she turned them down and closed the door, it wasn't even 5 yet. If you hate it that much, get a different job. Dont berate customers for dropping off packages when you work at the damn post office.

This review is for the U.S. Postal Passport Services located at the Kempsville Post Office branch…read more The branch is right off Kempsville Rd with parking in front for the office, but parking for passport is to the side. Customers will need to drive in back to enter. The lot is huge and signage is over the door. Of note this is the only passport service on the Southside. Appointments are highly recommended, but when slow they will take walk-in. Customers can compete forms online or in person. Check or debit card appear to be the only two forms of payment. Cash was not discussed however. There is plenty of seating as the area is spacious. Two agents were working and luckily caught at a slow weekday. The wait was short, the process easy and the customer service exceptional. My daughter who is 18 will have her passport in around six weeks. She also opted for a second form of ID the passport card. It's the size of a drivers license. It's somewhat newer. You can bring your own photo of official size, or opt for the agent to take. If picky bring your own, the photo for my daughter came out extremely light. My experiences with the post office have been average to weak, so this is a huge bump in confidence for the U.S. Postal Service. Also of mention for those that need documentation they can obtain online through Vital Check. I requested a Yelp edit to add passport services. Full 5 stars.
