Had a really nice experience at the Truckee USPS. One of the employees was incredibly cheerful and friendly -- greeted everyone with a smile and made the line feel much shorter. It's rare to see that kind of positive energy at a post office. Definitely brightened my day! read more

Absolute trash location. Usps says they are open 9-430. Arrived at 1158. Closed. I read online the 2 locations in the area are BOTH CLOSED from 12-1230. Nothing on the door. No sign. And they left early. Heres a thought post office idiots. One of u close from 12-1230 the other from 1230-1. Then u have one open the full hours ITS SAYS YOU ARE OPEN. This is insane. Absolutely unacceptable. The main post master left. And when McDonald's across the street pays more, why would anyone work here? Needless to say, I've been trying to get my wedding ring for my fiancé since Aug 4th. It's been returned multiple times to sender. For absolutely no reason!!!! We've had at least a dozen pieces of mail and packages returned to sender. For no reason. We have always used a dual address with street first followed by P.O. Box because it's impossible to know how people are mailing prior. I literally have no idea what we are paying for... everyday is hit an miss. The other day. I went in at 915 and 130 and no one was there. A few days prior. It said closed due to staffing on a midweek day. Hope they can fix the staffing issues. If I could give less stars I would. I haven't received mail in over 6 weeks. All of my packages have been returned for no good reason. And now that I've finally received a package, they aren't open for me to retrieve it. When I speak to the postal workers, no one is able to explain why I haven't received mail or why my packages have been returned for no reason. They don't abide by the hours they have posted. Saw the sign many times that they are closed 12 - 12:30 for lunch. I arrived before 11:50 and he had locked the door. There was only one person in line so I waited outside the door and asked, as he was slamming the other door on me, if he would mail my one package as it was before noon. He refused saying he had something to do in the back. That is all fine and good, but if the door is literally locked at 11:45 the sign should state that they close at 11:45 for lunch!!!! I'm simply rating every time I walk in and the older lady with the red hair is working. She is rude and had no problem saying: "Don't give me that look" or looking at you like she's annoyed as you walk in. I always wonder why she has a customer facing position, she clearly has no patience. When she's off the Post Office is a peaceful and lovely place - all the other people are friendly. read more

I tried everything I could to never have to go get my mail. First off the hours are bonkers, 9-4 Monday-Friday, in a tourist town, come on have some common sense. I literally had to take a day off of work to pick up packages. The packages that I was able to pick up, 90% of them were broken in some way, glass broken, metal bent. Even the things that were shipped here within my own town, try to support locally but they don't do pick up(whole other review), were damaged. Things were never delivered on time, my sister sent me my Christmas present, I received it at the end of April, yet the post marks for the bay are and Reno say January, where did it sit for 3 months? My graduation announcements that I ordered were sent back to the printers because they refused to sign for the package. I had them sent to the post office so they wouldn't sit outside in snow. Completely frustrating in so many ways. The icing on the cake was when I went to cancel my PO Box cause I moved out of the area, the lady at the counter starting giving lip about leaving, that I wasn't supporting my local area. Then made me fill out 2 form to get my refund back, I paid for a year and only used it for 8 month. But to get my refund, I had to fill out another 'change of address form' which I had done a week earlier, but her system didn't show that I had filled it out. So if I wanted to continue receiving mail, I need to fill it out again. So happy to be leaving and done with that place. read more

This post office doesn't always delivery mail or small packages into your mailbox (the grouped mail boxes in certain Truckee communities). This post office SENDS it back to the addressee person who sent the mail in the first place! Why doesn't this post office put a note into our mail box so that we can COME to the Post Office and Pickup the package! Isn't that the way it's supposed to work? Yet, we get ALL the junk mail. There is no filter for that 3rd class mail. Also, Please put a few RECYCLE bins next to ALL mail boxes, PB, grouped neighborhood mail boxes, etc! Save the environment and cut down on waste. Please make our Truckee Post Office more efficient. Thanks. read more

We actually had a pretty good experience here. We were able to make passport appointments online a few days ahead of time. They have a large lot so parking was not an issue. The employee that helped us was very nice and seemed very knowledgeable about the passport process. The only bad thing was we made an appointment that was to include the taking of passport photos and their camera was broken. There are only a couple other places in truckee to get that done. Luckily we were able to run to rite and and come back with our photo. read more

I had a horrible experience here today. I actually left in tears. I was trying to locate a package that tracking showed as delivered but we hadn't received. After asking her to track it to help me locate it, she sighed heavily and rolled her eyes as though it was some huge inconvenience. After pulling up the information, she was explaining to me that there was an error in the zip code and that it had gone to another post office. When I asked if it had gone to the Bridge street location (very politely, I might add) she said to me, and I quote "Are you going to keep talking and not let me finish? Or are you going to shut up so I can explain this to you." I was in shock. And as my two young children were with me I was just stunned and left as quickly as I could. I am horrified that she would speak to anyone, let alone a customer this way. I will be calling to complain tomorrow! read more

Absolutely horrible, horrible customer service. Since Janet left this place has gone to hell. The new lady Rada is very rude, slow and should not be at the counter. She was helping a lady one day and for no reason walked away to the back and came back a few minutes later like she never left, never said excuse me or i'm sorry. The mail service gets worse every year. Had 2 packages sent at same time but we only got one, who knows who's box they put the other one in. HORRIBLE HORRILBE customer service............. read more
