Sometimes it gets really busy and the lines can be long but they do what they can to help things move along. I usually go to the Encino branch because it's closer to me, but I will drive the extra mile to come here from now on. The staff are exceptional, kind, helpful in every way. I just had Laura helping me and I have to say this is the first time I've felt UNWELCOME at USPS. I walked in and said HELlO, to which I just got a nasty look. I then got a condescending tone telling me to answer the question on the screen. I ship through USPS 2-5 times a week and have never not had my tracking circled and shown to me, as well as the survey in the bottom. This lady has no idea what customer service is. Eww. Yes. Eww. Thank you for wasting 40 minutes of my life yesterday with your incompetent employees. And Ellie, the PO Box clerk is RUDE and has no service skills whatsoever. Would it kill people there to be friendly? What happened? I left a check in my PO Box to pay for my box. They apparently did not cash it because it was short a few dollars. Did they take the check out of my box? Yes. Did they ever inform me it was short? No. Did they ever return my check? No. Where is my check now? Nobody seems to know. Nobody cares. I know I should have checked to make sure the check was cashed right away but its a small business account with such limited activity that I only do my accounting once a year (shame on me, I am an accountant). On my first visit I found machines that did not work and an obese worker with attitude behind the counter. Now someone is stealing my checks from the mail. what everyone is saying about this Post office is about 100% true. Tarzana is known for lots of old people who can't park between the lines and lots of Persians talking loudly on their cell phones. Some of them are rude enough to cut everyone in line to ask the clerks questions. I HATE that. I normally am just in and out to pick up mail and when I need to send something out, I avoid the line at all costs and just use the automated machine. That is definitely the way to go. The workers have absolutely no personality and no regard for the people waiting in the line. I just don't understand how the 30 people in line can still keep them working at a sloths pace. Funny story: the reason why the front parking spots have a cement poll in front of each one, is because some old person drove their car into the wall by the door about a year ago. I have to say, I never expect too much from USPS in terms of getting the help I need but this time, they went above and beyond! I was trying to track down a tracking number but only had the survey number on my receipt. I called and someone named Marwin (sp?) answered. He was so incredibly helpful! He even had me text him a picture of my receipt as well as all the details I could provide about when and amount of my transaction. I just get my mail here at the PO. Box. There was a time I hand to ship something, so instead of waiting in line I decide to use the teller machine. In the middle of my transaction the machine froze. I was pretty annoyed, I ended up waiting in the line anyways to talk to a person. But what can you do, you can b*tch and moan until your head falls off but the post office will always be the same. I recently moved to the west Valley and switched post offices; this one is the closest one with a package dropoff bin so I have used them four times or so. Things take days to get scanned into the system and start moving, and a couple of (large) packages have not been scanned at all for two weeks+ It's kind of a giant pain that I have to go back to the one reliable post office I've found in the Valley with bins inside - the Sherman Oaks one. They haven't ever lost a package or failed to scan it and I've shipped a good thousand+ packages there over the past year. Hey, it's loads better than the Brentwood one by UCLA, which is hands down the worst delivery service, worst customer service people, and parking situation in LA. read more

In the mailing industry it is difficult to rate a store based on its product, since the procedure is the same in every store. I base this rating on my customer experience. That being said, I felt awful walking out of this post office. The expereince was so dreadful that it is more convinent to drive to a further location then to come back to this store. The store layout was fine, and the line is expected. The true blame for this review happened the moment I was called up to the counter. Small talk was out of the question, and if you had any concern questions don't expect it to be answered. I first walked up expecting that they can do everything from the counter. Instead the employee told me to grab a letter from the wall ( my fault to assume they would have a letter behind the counter). I did and when I came back he asked me to step aside and fill in my address. This bothers me because instead of going back and forth and waiting for him to be available again he could've told me the first time to do both. Besides, it's safe to assume that they would have the technology to print a label. Now, after waiting and returning to the counter for the 3rd time, I began to ask questions to make sure I dont need to go back in line again. The employee simply ignored and went about doing is work. It made me feel like I was there to bother him. I began to ask about confirmation, and how I will be notified if my letter was delivered. I had to ask him 4 times before he finally answered me and said it will be delivered. In the end, the expereince sucked. A lot of time was wasted and I didn't feel comfortable going to this post office. I was worried all week and kept calling the reciepient party all week to make sure the letter was recieved. I would've used the online tool except I had no idea what my tracking number was since the answer to that question was it will be delivered. Giving this place a 1/5 is an easy decision, and unless the attitude the employees have change, it will continue to be a 1 star store. read more

I've been going here for years. My main tip...if you're in a rush, DO NOT COME HERE! The line to get to someone at the counter is always a mile long. I've waited 20 minutes or more at times just waiting to drop off a package and get a receipt or send a certified mail letter. There are some very nice and helpful workers here, so extra stars for that. There are a couple of them, though, who are definitely sour. As far as counter service, it's okay. I personally have not had a bad experience with a clerk. The line moves slowly though. My office building is serviced by this post office. In the past four years I've been here I have not received one piece of mail. It is ALL returned. A client brought the returned envelope with her and the property manager must hand deliver the returned envelopes. I've filed a complaint with the USPS but it has not been resolved. Not sure why the letter carrier doesn't bother to take the elevator to my floor and look for my suite. (Yes it was vacant for years... The worst US Post Office in the state of California! I walk in to get a quote for International Shipping and am standing in line for at least 30 minutes. Some PO worker name Laura who you can see in one of there Yelp "catalog photos" on here was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was really nice to these two guys before me and for some reason after I asked her for a quote she started snapping at me as if she was talking to some child or her grandkids or something. When I brought it to her attention she was acting rude she got all choked up and was lost for words. Now there's a couple workers there who are nice. But this is not the first time this woman Laura along with there postmaster and a couple of other employees has treated me this way. I plan to file a formal complaint to make sure this is corrected. read more

Worst service ever. Bad and careless attitudes. And the drivers are beyond lazy. I've scheduled pick ups five days back to back and not once have they come by to pick up my packages. My partner and I work from home and expect packages at all times that very rarely make it to us. This is unacceptable. Also our apartment is behind the mailboxes how hard it is for you to turn around, take two steps and ring our doorbell? They don't attempt to redeliver either. Management please do something about this. I've lost all hope in USPS and if this goes on any longer I will gladly take this further! I am writing this review about my post gal Kelly. I live on Hatteras in Tarzana and ever since I have lived here Kelly has been my postman. She has had a huge impression on me, and not only me but all the other people that live in my gated community but also people across the street as well. She is so genuine, kind and always friendly and ready for a laugh. My two dogs adore Kelly and go mental if I mention her name or they hear her van going past. In fact I have never heard anyone mention Kelly that didn't get a smile on their face. All the dogs that live on my street love Kelly. Ok, so I am reviewing a post office. Sure, it's kind of odd. But the staff here, in particular, Laura are always awesome to work with. I send a lot of items from my ebay, and sometimes that is a challenge in and of itself, especially with customs forms. She makes it very easy, explains everything, and shows the best way to save money. Also, the parking here is excellent, I can't say how big of a help that is. They keep the lines moving, even during the holiday rush, I've had good experiences getting in and out in a timely fashion. read more

I've always found the staff to be courteous and friendly. The lines, if any, are minimal at any given time.

I live in Tarzana and since we moved in we have been getting a note from the postwoman that she will not derive the mail unless we park 6 feet away from the mail box. As a respect we have been doing it. We also have pool guy , Gardner and other people that come along during the day and sometimes they park close to the mail box( which is out of our control) . 2 days ago I received a notice that going forward I have to park at least 12 feet to the mail box or I wont get my mails. This lady refuse to leave the cart and only way she drops the mail is from the cart. I called the 800 number, after 50 min of waiting I was told that there is no such a policy and her job is to deliver the mail. The opened a case and ask me to call her manager. I called and the phone rang at least 20 times before it was picked up, Marvin Pienda came to the phone and was so uncooperative and unhelpful that made me wonder why the post lady is so lazy to leave the cart and deliver the mail. I wish it was a negative scoring, they don't even deserve 1. read more

It has gotten worse. A slow obese woman(Laura?) helped me this time. My arm was in a sling because of an injury. I needed a little piece of tape to make sure the large envelope I was mailing stayed shut. She refused to give me even a little piece of tape. So, I saw priority mail stickers at the counter and grabbed one of those and stuck it on. I didn't want to wait another half hour in line over a little piece of tape. Then she gets really hostile and tells me that I cannot mail it now because I put a priority mail sticker on it. I said just charge me the priority rate; which ended up costing an extra $3. REALLY? By far the fastest most efficient post office in the entire valley. Postmaster Rob was very courteous to us today. He even left it up and showed us how to use the automated systems so that from now on we can walk in and not have to wait in line. He was very patient and a very charming character. My girlfriend and I had quite a few packages and envelopes to mail out and you helped us every step of the way. There are other guess that needed help as well and he was very willing to multitask and help as many people as he could. The parking situation is a little weird but we all adapt. A great post office in a great neighborhood, definitely worth going here any day over another USPS! Line situation should also be addressed, it's very on organized sometimes and you never really know who is waiting in line. This whole automation thing changes the game and Rob is a key player in this office. A+ read more
