Because my sister has Downs, she still believes in Santa Claus, even at 47 years old. Our tradition every year is for me to mail her "Reindeer Food" for her to throw out on Christmas Eve to make sure Santa comes to her Group Home. That said, I wanted to put something on the box that stated "Open BEFORE Christmas Eve" so that she knew the reindeer food was included in the box. The easiest way I thought to do this (and the way I've ALWAYS done it) was to grab one of the USPS address stickers that you fill out to ship things and put it right below the return address sticker with it written really big and obvious. Well, I did that and handed it to the person behind the counter who immediately said 'what a mess you made, why did you waste post office paper to write on another label?"....now, if he had said that in a semi-kind way, I would have explained it in a nice way and apologized for using their paper without permission...but instead, this guy was an aggressive jerk. It's hard enough that I can't be with my sister on Christmas, but then I have to deal with a total garbage human being to top it off? I even explained why and he was still completely rude. I was quite upset and spoke my mind which I only do when provoked way past my breaking point. This man deserved it. I wish I'd gotten his name but apparently, he's there all the time. I am completely disappointed by the true lack not only of customer service, but the outright aggressive, nasty, bullying way I was treated. You know, if the USPS is concerned about becoming obsolete, hiring complete jerks to work with the public will ensure that they will. I will never go there again. I'd rather walk to my sister's group home and drop it off personally than deal with a person like that ever again. I was shaking when I left because I was so upset. To the person who oversees this garbage human being-it's time to make a hard choice here between customers and this jerk. I will be calling the USPS to complain as well. Folks at the windows have always been extra helpful and nice…read more Occasionally there are clueless annoying customers at the window for what seems like hours -- maybe like the ones who write negative reviews here -- but even with these rude, selfish customers, the workers are as nice as possible. I prefer this WPA era building to the more "modern" USPS buildings. It has that warm old building feel. Parking can be hit or miss right at the door, but they DO have many free spots for drop offs, and it's not impossible to cheat a spot nearby. I always find a way to park briefly. Or, sometimes I park near one of the great restaurants nearby where I have lunch after dropping off my mail. This is a priceless, valuable treasure. I hope they keep it open forever.

I walked in with several pkgs that were already postage paid etc. All that the Post Master had to do was scan them. She was extremely inconvenienced by this. This should have been my first indicator of how things would go. I them told her that I had had a few pkgs delivered here, to pick up under General Delivery. That's when all hell broke loose. She lit into me about how they don't accept General Delivery at this location and she had no idea why I thought I could do this. She continued to rant and talk to me like I was a convict and had committed some huge crime. {If you go to USPS's website and find this location, under services available FOR THIS LOCATION, it lists General Delivery.} Again. I travel ALOT and I have never encountered a postal worker so angry and just plain mean. I spent the next several days attempting to retrieve the last pkg I had sent there. My husband then attempted to speak with her so we could get our last pkg and she then proceeded to yell at him. Needless to say she refused my mail and sent it back to sender. It would appear this woman should not be working with the public. On a side note, I went to the PO in Quakertown and the woman there told me that even if a PO doesn't normally accept General Delivery they can still hold it for you. She was even nice about it. I'll give the Quakertown PO all of my business while I'm here. However, I will never step back into the 4th St location.

I shipped from Annandale, a large box with Christmas presents to Alpharetta, GA and when the package arrived, 2 days late, the packing tape was ripped off and the box open. The presents were unwrapped and one of them missing. I honestly believe someone was Christmas shopping in my package. It is a federal crime to tamper with mail and when I filed a complaint with the postal service, I received no response. I'm sure nothing will come of my complaint, but beware, there are thieves working for the postal service.
