One of the most underrated professions in the world. After watching the Six Triple Eight movie I have a newfound respect for mailmen and women. Postal workers make the world go round and I really appreciate those that put in the work to make it all possible. If it wasn't for these people we wouldn't be able to communicate outside of technology as businesses or with friends and family. I appreciate the extended hours (open until 6 pm Monday- Friday) this location offers which includes being open on Saturdays! The staff is always professional and verifies each guest are following the full procedure to send mail effectively. I've been having to send some important documents this year and recently learned you can attach a green card to be sent back on certified mail for legal confirmation that it has been received. Today the line was to the door and it was so refreshing that we all waited our turn patiently, the two ladies did the best they could being understaffed. Remember these people provide vital, secure and resilient communication and delivery infrastructure for the nation, please treat them as the superstars that they are(: Thank you so much for your service! read more

If I could rate this place a -10 I would, mannish or however you spell his name was absolutely rude, disrespectful, did not have any customer service skills whatsoever, he was absolutely rude to me and my husband and my children, impatient, at the end because it took us 8 minutes to finish our applications he was saying "you're late I don't have time for this" we had arrive at 235 our appointment was 245 and there was already a line. And at the end he said he could only do 2 of our 4 passports because of the line holding us back and all I said was could you please we're here we arrived on time, it's not our fault the line was long, and he said to arrive earlier next time or don't come at all, at the end I just had to express how rude he was and that we will never come back here again, and he said "Good because you're never welcomed back here" good ! To be around a rude person like that I think I'll save my gas and go else where. Disgusting service ! read more

The carriers refuse to deliver to a legitimate address. I have spoken with a Supervisor there and was promised a resolution. We are going on two weeks with no resolution. The situation gets worse now because no one at the Post Office will answer their phone forcing us to go through the gauntlet that is the USPS main number. This post office has no concept of Customer Service, nor any accountability for its mistakes. It appears to be actively hiding from its customer base. read more

I went in today to shop a small package. All it needed was the label with the address placed on it. I stood in line for 15 or so minutes for the 1 person working to tell me is should go in a box and I. Red to manually write the label. I asked if he could figure this out for me (print the label for me) to which he said I needed to do so and get back in line. The line at this point was twice as long. Hard pass. Went across the street to UPS and the printer the label and shipped it for a cheap price. In and out in less than five minutes. While standing in line as USPS I heard another customer state (obviously fully agree with it too) that this is another government waste of money. Please shut this location and all other USPS locations down and let private business take over as they clearly run it way more efficiently. read more

I would give no stars if I could. The staff has no training. USPS should not offer services if they aren't going to train their employees on how to provide it. Tried coming in to verify our in person delivery and address confirmation. We had an email to show them the step by step process on how to do it and both employees refused to even try. They had no idea what a mobile POS system was or any clue as to what their new "informed delivery" service was, even though they have posters everywhere advertising this new service... Please please hire someone who is not on their last leg of their life or has even the smallest amount of knowledge on technology. Also, the lady who runs the passport counter has no sense of customer service and should find a new profession or just retire. read more

This post office is still at it. I highly recommend NOT using this branch for Christmas/gift packages, because they either lose them in the back, or steal them. How do I know? For the last two years, all our packages have been tracked as being delivered to our PO Box there, but are rarely in the box, and no one can seem to find them. Sometimes, they magically find them after looking in the back for 15 mins. Sometimes they magically appear in our box the next day (only after being a week or more after the delivery date). Or sometimes they just disappear all together, leaving us with no gifts for anyone, and no way to get our money back. Which leads us to believe that someone might be stealing there. So if you love this kind of chaos, go for it, otherwise, stay far far away from this Shawnee Post Office, unless there's no money or merchandise involved. I now understand why everyone on our block uses Fed Ex or UPS instead, and that the postal system has lost billions of dollars in the last 4 years. read more

My package was delivered to who knows. I called and spoke to Trish and explained that there was nothing in my box, no key to the lock box, nothing. Yet, the notice made by the delivery person stated it was delivered at around 2pm. I spoke with Trish at 3pm. She took all my information: name, address, phone number and told me she would contact the delivery person and call me back.......I'm still waiting to hear from her. This Post Office has a lot to be desired. One measly star for this group. read more

The woman working was extremely unhelpful. Made a point of repeating why my shipping label wouldn't match the free box I wanted to use. "BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE CHEAPEST SHIPPING! BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE CHEAPEST SHIPPING!" Told me I had to buy I box. Sure, okay, I understand. "Do you have any tape I may use?" Seems like a logical question in a mailing facility. "NO. YOU NEED TO USE YOUR OWN. YOU CAN BUY SOME. IT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVE THE CHEAPEST SHIPPING." Christ lady, we aren't the only people in the location. Can you stop yelling my business out across the lobby? PS, I know you have tape. You may be a government institution but a little customer service goes a long way. I saw the tape on the desk. Thanks. Went to an appointment for passports and the lady was very rude. She ran over into our appointment by 15 minutes with another customer, then said she would not help us because not all of our party was there on time (due to a Dr.'s appointment at Children's Mercy running over by over an hour). We still had questions we needed answered that did not require all of our party and she refused to help. Once our party did show (within our scheduled time), she called the next scheduled party 10 minutes early, instead of allowing us to use our appointment time to ask questions. Of our 1/2 hour appointment she spent 25 minutes with other customers and would not even answer questions related to our passports even when all of our party was present. read more

Okay, it's a Post Office and I typically wouldn't write a review, but dang, the last Yelper really beat them up. I've gone to this location many times and have never had a problem. I have my stuff together when I come. I don't expect them to just give me shipping material that isn't free no matter how trivial it may seem. Whether I'm shipping something that's at the lowest rate or costs more for add ons, I'm sure nobody in line cares. It's the Post Office, jeez. read more

Rude employees! After attempting to call them 3 times and not having them answer I went to the post office to pick up a package. The employee that was working assisted the person ahead of me and proceeded to shoo me away because it was 602. (it was 558 when I and the other person walked in) and when I called back to talk to someone about holding my package because I will be out of town they hung up on me. read more

Horrible customer service. The Manager, James Owens, obviously does not like Caucasians. After asking how to resolve an issue with a package that took 22 days to deliver to Portland Oregon, which was destroyed, and internal contents missing, James Owens wouldn't ask about the issue or allow questions regarding options to resolve. This is typical of the people at this facility. read more
