Had been to the Raytown ups store atfer an item that I had given to them to ship back to Amazon appeared back on my doorstep. Instead of admitting they had done something wrong they just said that they couldn't understand what happened and I call Amazon. Went to the Brookside ups location and Kelly helped me figure out what to do next. This is the second time Raytown location let me down and I had to go to Brookside to get help. I wanted to print a picture that was online; I went to the UPS store at 13851 West 63rd Street in Shawnee, Kansas (off Shawnee Mission Parkway). Grace was the best I could ever have hoped to help me! She's a real problem solver and was determined to get the job done! Since I am totally inept, using my phone for projects like this, Grace took over and was able to send my picture to the store's email address and printed it on quality stock--two sizes! This took awhile. And all that for $1! She was so sweet and patient about it! I now know where to take any of my printing and mailing projects! Thank you, Grace! Several years later, I don't live in this area anymore, but was nearby and needed to drop off an Amazon return. I also had some pre-paid USPS packages which my local location happily accepts. This location has self service Amazon/pre-paid UPS drop off which is nice. When I finished, I asked if I could leave my USPS packages. I was told yes, but when I took them over to the counter, I was given a little speech about how my packages are bigger than they take but they'd take them "this time." It rubbed me the wrong way a little since his reason was their USPS slot is smaller than my boxes. It just seems like this location has too many hoops to jump through at times. When I lived in Shawnee I'd avoid this location and I guess it's still not my favorite place. read more

They are friendly and always helpful. The second factor is that they are speedy very rarely do I wait more than 5 minutes.

I'm a big Amazon shopper, so when something breaks down or doesn't fit right or just needs to be returned, the UPS Store just off Shawnee Mission Parkway is my go-to. I've never been treated like "just another customer" there. And even though I'm not paying to ship (I just drop off pkgs that have postage paid on them) and I'm just leaving a package and getting a receipt, I am always treated like a valued customer. I have been a paying customer in the past - when I have to ship a delicate item to my parents in Wisconsin, I trust the UPS Store to pack it well and take good care of my merchandise. And they have ALWAYS come through. So lovin' the customer service, and the care with which my packages are handled, I am very satisfied with this location. I know my review is a little one-sided since I don't usually copy/fax or use the computer, buy my own shipping supplies, etc. None-the-less, their customer service is superior, and I trust them with whatever shipping dilemma I have. read more

After they had just finished packing, shipping and charging me over $100 in fees, they would not accept a packaged, labeled and pre-paid USPS box unless I agreed to pay them an additional $5 for a "holding fee." This simple courtesy would have cost them nothing. All they had to do was give it to the mailman the next time he delivered their mail. Instead, they chose to see if they could extort some more money from me. I instead took the box to HyVee, who was happy to mail it as a courtesy in exchange for my continued patronage. I have another 40 or so antique radios to sell, pack and ship. They will easily exceed 500 pounds in total shipping weight. Guess who will not be shipping them? How's that $5 "holding fee" working out for you? read more

Fast, friendly, reliable, accurate. Pretty much everything the post office isn't! Since my daughter has been enlisted, I've stopped using the post office for anything. If you need to make sure what you're shipping gets there, and get's there quickly, I would only use UPS. This particular location is the one I've always used as it is the closest to me. Will NOT continue business. Today (after over a year of business) my 12-year old son with special needs was told the bathroom is not for customers. It was huge he communicated this to me. I (Mom) asked as we stepped in to copy a poster my son wanted for his room. I said "even if urgent?"...it's not like we stop in to use it ALL the time. Nope. She (the older employee) referred me to the 'nice bathrooms' across the street at the gas station. The teenage employee I asked had the deer-in-the-head-lights look...could tell she didn't want to redirect me. Would they tell that to a mom who had an upset toddler? who really! needed to go potty and a baby strapped to the front of her...while managing to run to UPS for whatever reason??? after she got the whole crew out of the car?! COME ON! Why be so rigid?? Customer service/judgement call training need here at this location. read more

I have been using this UPS store since it opened in 2004. What you don't know about this store is...it provides post office boxes for small home based businesses, it provides return address and check rubber stamps, it provides containers of all sizes and shapes for all sorts of odd shaped mailings, it provides color banners for help publicize your event, and it provides greeting cards for all occasions when you need one to brighten up someone else's day. On top of that the owner is involves in every community event and service area surrounding her and her husbands three stores, two in Shawnee and one at Village West. So, try to imagine our city without them. I can't. They do what it takes to support your small business enterprise or special event...plus get your packages to their destination...on time with excellent customer service along the way. I am very fortunate to have them as a fellow business near us. read more

If I could rate this ZERO stars I would. This store is horrible. They have LOUSY service, they are not friendly and when a problem arose they did not refund my money. They also lied to me. I called the main UPS and told them the problem I had. They said it is up to the MANAGER to help me, which she did not. They also told me that had I shipped directly from UPS, they would have been able to help me. DON'T GO HERE!!! read more
