After a little though we realized it was my son's new iPhone which I knew he'd be ridiculously happy to get before the next time we'd be able to pick it up after Christmas. So we jumped in the car and drove. I'd seen the FedEx distribution facility on Front St. but didn't know there was an office where you could drop off and pick up packages - certainly makes sense though. My wife was driving and I forgot my driver's license. I took the door sticky thing to the desk and they asked for my ID. um. I forgot it? He was pretty curt but I get it. It was a long holiday and this was literally the last hour. He hung with me though and we realized my wife's name was on the delivery and she HAD her license. Crisis averted. We got the phone, exchanged some well wishes and we were on our way. The overall experience was a little dramatic though. I am hoping their attitudes were because of the holiday stress but they were over-sharing about someone who had been calling. Apparently both staff members had talked to this person and were comparing notes - and being really unkind about their personal opinions. It was awkward.

Unfortunately, the umbrella of FedEx continued to frustrate and disappoint me along the way, providing me with costly obstacles and misinformation. It wasn't until I arrived at the FedEx Ship Center on Mexico City Ave that I started to receive helpful and accommodating services provided by Shane, Mark, Manager Mark Fullerton, and others. The team at Mexico City Ave FedEx Ship Center doggedly worked with me for over 3 hours to help ship my painting in flash flood conditions. The three of them worked together seamlessly, providing unmatched teamwork as they relied on the strengths and knowledge of their peers to help navigate the tangled situation. Manager Mark Fullerton listened to my grievances of earlier FedEx experiences and agreed to champion me if I chose to seek reimbursements for inaccurate services rendered at prior FedEx locations. Shane offered a wonderful disposition while he researched and reached out to local crating companies to better protect my painting during the shipping process. His teammate Mark diligently worked with me providing multiple resources and one-on-one help for me along the way. A female team member (whose name I unfortunately did not catch) even recommended to them that we call FedEx Great Rates to lower the cost of shipping which was over $1,000 more than what the original FedEx store I visited had estimated. Manager Mark Fullerton, Shane, Mark, and the other team members worked cohesively and tirelessly with me for over 3 hours to help ship the painting and resolve the countless problems that continued to arise during the process. The Mexico City Avenue team is an exemplar of customer service shipping. I wish I had only had the same level of service provided at the five other FedEx locations I had come into contact with during this messy ordeal.
