One star review is for my first impression of this post office. So RUDE!!!! All I did was call this morning because I was supposed to have a package re-delivered yesterday but it never came. I didn't even get a chance to finish explaining what I needed before the woman on the phone CUT ME OFF and just asked for my zip code. She sounded fairly young. She didn't ask me for any other information and just put me on hold for ten minutes. I hung up and called again and now the line is busy. Geez lady, it's only 9:30AM. Good luck with the rest of your freakin day. This is why I hate dealing with the post office. Can't believe I'm Yelping a post office but the service I received today was so extraordinary, I just had to make a comment. Needing to go there to correct a mailing mistake someone had made, I was already grumpy, probably from the lack of coffee. After explaining to one lady I needed to send 2 lbs of docs to SF in 2 days, I was told to step aside and fill out the Express label. After I completed the label in front of another lady's station, (non-Asian, should have remembered her name) She told me she was not open yet. I replied it was fine as I was waiting for the first one to help me. She noticed I was waiting there for a few minutes and decided to just open up and assist me. Not only that, she provided excellent service, going over how to track the shipment and explained that it's a money back guarantee if it doesn't get there before noon. Very pleasant lady. So instead of a grumpy, long errand..she turned it into a quick pleasant trip. Now if we can get DMV to work like this..... read more

Yesterday July 19th a delivery driver ( not sure of his name all I know is he is route 27 driver ) but I had a question for him about one of my packages and as soon as I asked him he started getting super bothered for some unknown reason. He started harassing me and tell me to " get the f out " he started verbally harassing me but as soon as I started defending my self he started feeling threatened by me for no reason ( LOL ). The actual in post office experience is a hit or miss. Today I went to go pick up a package and was in and out in under 5 minutes. Just last week I was there and it took me a whole 20 minutes, only to get nothing accomplished. (And the reason why I was there was because no one bother answering the phone.) As for those that work at the counter, they seem pretty friendly whenever I'm there. Now onto the delivery service. The USPS really needs to get their act together! I put a stop mail request last week since I would not be home and knew there were packages coming in. I come home at the end of the week to find a mountain of packages at my door. Then yesterday I was home all day waiting for packages. I even see the postal truck from my window. No packages came. Instead I find a slip in my mailbox saying "sorry we missed you". REALLY? I quite like this post office. Yeah, I said it! It's completely open, with no barriers between you and the staff, which makes it much more welcoming than the post offices that put a wall between you and your mail carrier. The openness made me feel more relaxed and comfortable asking a question (i used a box that had been shipped to me by Amazon that I was in turn using to ship something to someone else) and engage in a little friendly banter. This is our main Post Office for San Gabriel, and it seems vintage 1960's styling. The people here are really nice, and our mail lady, Susan, is a great representative of the U.S. Postal Service. This location is hard to park though, as parking is usually tight during business hours. I wish they would open later than noon on Saturdays however. Maybe they'll have holiday hours soon... read more

This place is the WORST for mail/package dispatch or transportation per se. Suppose you are conducting business online such as Amazon, eBay, etc. Do yourself a favor and look for other USPS locations because mails and packages that go through here are always likely to experience severe delays from this USPS office. It could have repercussions that it would cost you financially. I have been lucky so far because my customers were understanding and reasonable people, who did not demand a refund for the delayed packages. Since my favorite post office in San Marino closed (wait a min... did it close or not??), I come to this one in SG. They get the job done here so I don't have any complaints. Yes, they aren't as friendly as the San Marino one but it's all good. I'm not at the post office to make friends haha. Service: good. nothing bad or exceptional has happened to me here. Parking: They have a tiny parking lot. I never park in there. Besides it being small, the entrance is a little steep. Just save yourself the hassle and park on the street. read more

I came in and spoke to another woman of Asian descent. She was very rude as well. I came in potentially searching for really important personal documents that were not delivered successfully. I was in a bit of a time crunch so I really needed to know what happened to my package. I have two separate addresses; one for Ups and the other for USPS. There was a mix up and the documents were sent to the wrong address. I came in to ask if they potentially had any undelivered mail to the wrong address. I was trying to tell all this to the Asian woman but she proceeded to cut me off and told me that the, "mail carrier didnt have any extra packages today". When I asked if she can check, she rudely just repeated herself. At this moment I was fed up and I sternly asked if she can at least make the effort to check, and you know, be helpful? I was literally one of two people present... This is when Diane rudely intrudes and begins yelling at me when I was never speaking to her in the first place. She basically just repeated what the first worker said. Again, unhelpful. This is when I proceeded to walk away from the situation. I don't have time for grown adults acting like children. It wasnt worth getting into a fight. However when I was walking out, homegirl Diane continued to yell at me as I left the building. Trust and believe that I paid that heffer no mind as I walked away laughing from her little tantrum though... I have never experienced such vile and rude behavior. Went in this morning 2/8/2021 to drop off a prepaid box. When I got to the counter and told the Asian lady at the counter I'm dropping off a prepaid box, her attitude was not friendly at all. She said she doesn't take prepaid boxes and rolled her eyes. So I had to ask where one can drop off prepaid boxes. She said in the parcel box but no further instructions. Dianna is VERY VERY RUDE. I asked brought my package to the window without taping the label (because UPS has a plastic bag to hold the label and tape it in the package). And she spoke very rude want me to glue by my self and showed me the wave that wants me to leave her window. Had this package delivered into my locked mailbox like this. No markings on it saying that it was like that when arriving to the post office. Spoke with the manager "Sing" and he stated that all he could do was talk to the carrier. Carrier stated it was already like that. Why would you put an empty envelope into my box?!! Post office says there's nothing that they could do about it and for me to contact the shipper. This post office is useless and they never take responsibility. Whenever things happen they say it is your fault. I've also been inside there on more than one occasion where the clerks are yelling at the customers. SO far, the WORST post office i've been to. it's tiny, everyone that works there are all asian. i'm not being racist at all here, i'm asian too. but sometimes i just don't understand them. this is the post office that i go to the most, because it's within walking distance from my house. for the million times i've been there, mailing stuff out, picking up parcels, asking questions, i NEVER got a smile from any of those workers. there is only one lady there that smiles to her customers. How sad is that? I go in there, ALways need to wait forever just to pick up something because they work slow, and most of the time they don't know what they are doing or talking about. I've talked to the "so called" supervisor, of cox i dont' know if she was, but seemed like she was the one in charge. Sorry to say, but she was not professional at all! Just by her attitude and they way that she communicates with her customers (i was one of them), she maybe doesn't deserve to be where she is. I've wanted to file a complain before, and what i got in response was that "....no one ever complain before, no one complain, you need to calm down." You see how professional that is? I can't complain because no one ever complains. I don't want to talk too much about this place, because it makes me want to start cussing. and sad thing is i can't avoid that place because my parcel always end up being there. read more

All the workers here seem to hate their job. Especially Tony. I witnessed him yell at an older Asian grandma for not understanding his broken English. He was explaining to her that she misspelled China. Why can't you just correct it for her? Instead, he blabbers on how she can't spell in English. She speaks Mandarin...duh. But Tony can speak Mandarin! Why didn't you talk to her in her native language? Then in Mandarin, he says "Wow. Are you really making me explain it again?" What service is this? I think the change that hit me the most moving from one zip code to the next one down is probably the USPS. I went home to see a pink notice stating they missed me and thus prompted me to go to the USPS on the weekend as going on the weekday is simply impossible seeing as I needed to leave to work at 7 in the morning to try and beat the LA traffic. Having to drive down Del Mar which by the way is under construction thus making me drive through a huge detour to finally get to the post office to only be met by the smallest parking lot in the world which forced me to look for street parking. This is seriously the crappiest parking lot I've seen for any usps. It's sad and depressing and I hate it. Makes me sad I changed zip codes...wtf read more

I'm not surprised at all that this post office has an overall two-star rating. The postal workers are generally courteous and helpful, and try their best to reduce your wait time. But the tall Chinese manager is rude and unreasonable. In the private sector, there is no way he would be allowed to address customers so unprofessionally. This post office is pretty bad compared to the other ones around it. Parking is horrible and one teller even started yelling at me because I drop off flyers that had the no postage is necessary because it is paid for by the City of Los Angeles via special permit. The flyers were for a special self defense seminar hosted by the City of Los Angeles. He said they wouldn't be sent. Anyways this teller started yelling like you can't do that. So I ended up taking the letters off of the counter and threw them in a mailbox, which ironically, was sent out. I knew I was in the wrong but do you have to yell at me? The dude went ballistic. Anyways there are some tellers who are very helpful. There is the one white guy (everyone seems Asian here) who is always helpful. The only time I come here is if I'm close and there's parking. Who designs a post office with 14 spaces? That's crazy. You can park on the street too if you're lucky. The one bright spot is the passport office. The lady in there was very nice and I was able to get my passport processed quick. You also can have your pictures taken here for another fee. You have to pay using a check, or you have to buy a money order to pay for your passport fees. Make sure you bring your birth certificate too. You need to be a US citizen to get your US passport. If you have mail that needs to go, drop it off in the mailboxes littered around San Gabriel. I tend to drop off letters in the lobby to avoid standing in line. read more

David W. brings up a good point in that these people have been with the USPS for way too long and have become complacent in their job security being that all complaints about their perforamnce fall on deaf ears. Where are the negative stars? Here we go... I've been living at our dog friendly apartment community for a little over 1.5 years now. The same mail boy has been delivering our mail since we moved in. That same mail boy has been harassing me, and others that live here, on a continuous basis, about our dogs. In fact, he has quite the reputation here. He's known to be rude and disrespectful. Most people avoid him because he's such a disrespectful person. I'm more of a "run towards the gunfire" type of guy. Little background on me. I love this country. Most good people I meet tend to become friends, or at least am able to engage in friendly conversations. I like people. One of my dogs is a 14# sweet little Schnoodle. My other dog is a 26# service dog I acquired right before I left the Marine Corps. I'll say that again... My other dog is a service dog. In fact, he's so well behaved, that at my previous address the mail man loved my dog. Now, he didn't have any fears and don't expect our current mail deliver boy to love my dog. He could at least understand and respect the fact that my dog is probably the last dog in this community that would harm him. Last Wednesday I was tired of his crap (I never really said much because he seems old and miserable, I didn't want to add to his day). I basically told him, look, you have been harassing me about my dog for over a year now; as well as many others that live here. He's never touched you, jumped on you, or anything, so why do you feel it's necessary to harass me? Or anyone here? You're more than welcome to change your route or quit your job. He didn't care what I had to say. He apparently has a FEAR of dogs and was bitten early last year by some pint-sized pup. I didn't know that, nor do I really care because my dogs and I have nothing to do with that. Now, I respect that he has a fear, and would comply with him if he would approached me like a MAN, in order to let me know my crazy, killer service dog frightens him and could shatter his fragile manhood at any second. He's never has the intestinal fortitude to approach me and engage in a conversation to communicate his woes to me. He has only ever harassed me about my dog. Oh, I almost forgot about the part where he also harasses my wife... She's a tiny 100# woman. He feels its necessary to harass her as well? What kind of man is he? I told him my dog is a service dog, hence why he is amazingly well behaved and why he has never had any issues with him. He didn't care about the facts, he just rather be rude and disrespectful. Basically using our dogs as an excuse to be rude to the people that live here. Again... a dog friendly facility. The next day I didn't get any mail. I received a letter stating my dog "jumped" on him and "touched" him. He never did. I'll tell you what happened, he didn't like the fact that I approached him and called out him out about being rude and disrespectful all the time, to not just me, but others that live here as well. So being the weak-minded, passive aggressive person he is, he submitted something about my dogs to hold my mail. I've called multiple times, spoke with the customer service rep, and the Post Master. Both were of no help whatsoever. No one there cares, or wants to get to the bottom of the situation. It's basically his word against mine. That's some solid, good ol' American justice, eh? Not. I've stated the facts to them. I've informed them I'd be more than happy to resolve all of this in person, together, to get to the bottom of where the communication error is. They refuse, keep ignoring my comments and continue to speak over me (speaks volumes about their customer service) to say: "You need to bring his rabies shot in to verify." What? Did they hear anything I said? My dog didn't do anything wrong, nor did he do what the mail boy is accusing him of. My dog literally sat behind me when I was talking to him. I have no problem taking the paperwork in, it's the fact that it's based off a BS story and that I'm being treated like the bad guy here. It's unfair that I have to suffer because they lack leadership in their organization to resolve this issue on an even playing ground. They're basically all bullies. My dog has to be up to date to maintain his service dog credentials, so trust me, I have no issue proving anything. Basically, my mail is being held hostage because of that mail deliver boy lying about my dog "jumping" on him. I had to go higher to Consumer Affairs, and that's where we sit as of now. Unfortunately, I will probably not gain much ground through their system. So yeah... Support UPS, FeEx, or whoever. Use USPS and little as possible. Apparently false accusations and lying about a situation with a community member is okay in their Code of Ethics. P.S. Wow. So many bad reviews on this SG Post Office. I echo all of the folks sentiments here. Just awhile a go, I came in to drop off 6 Flat Rate Priority boxes. All were pre-postaged via USPS.com. When it was my time to be called, I was attended by Postal Worker LEH FENG. She is the short, cherubic albeit very impolite lady (is she one?) manning the counters often. BEWARE of this RUDE woman!!! On this visit, I was merely asking her to scan the tracking numbers of the 6 boxes and was requesting a receipt, as record of the boxes being dropped off/proof of possession by the post office. She initially said that: "We do not scan them nor give out receipts...you can just track them online." she surmised. Then I explained to her that some postal worker who advised me online in a recent post about sending and dropping off Priority Mail packages, that it is a post service practice to scan and provide a receipt of a pre-postage package, if the postal customer does request one. She then countered: "No, no we don't do that.." with a frowning, rude and raising intonation of her voice. She added' Just leave it there on the counter!!!!" I then asked her: "Okay, which counter?" Ms. Leh Feng does not answer at all my simple question; and she just points and turned her head/face to her right side from where there are 4 other counters, in a mannerism that offensive and giving me a cue as if "Take a guess!!!" insinuating gesture...and shooing me away like I'm some pesky, irritant "vermin" of a customer. Thereafter calls the next customer...just so to leave her postal counter. Mind you, I even greeted her "Hello" in Chinese Mandarin, initially to show some politeness and courtesy...then she has the nerve to shoo away in a rude manner, a postal customer, or any customer for that matter. As a long time SG resident, I felt proud of the San Gabriel Post Office and the people manning this postal station. After this rude encounter by Postal Worker LEH FENG....guess it ain't anymore. I went to the United States Postal Service in San Gabriel, CA on 1/21/2014. It was my first time there. I needed to get a money order. The staff was very helpful and friendly but maybe understaffed given the number of people waiting in line. Still, the line moved in a timely manner and I would have given 4 stars except that after I left I got into a fender bender in the parking lot. The lot is extremely small given the number of patrons - so I'm deducting one star. read more

I must agree with all the 1 star rating reviews since im a bulk shipper and i have first handed experience myself. The people that work there are rude, period. And yes, they are EXTREMELY lazy. I have used a first class envelope provided by USPS to mail something via first class mail and i was turn away because the envelope needed to flat? I have used it many, many times before at a different post office without problem and i just dont see how it creates a problem at this SG office. I often voiced my problems via USPS complaint hotline. It helps but problems keep coming up. Sigh. read more
