I come to this Post office every couple weeks to get mail. It's a good thing that I'm semi retired. The hours are M-F 8:30-5. It would be hard to come here if I had a regular job. I do like the surrounding area. read more

I've never had a bad experience here. The clerks are friendly and good at explaining the different shipping options. I like how all the available stamps are displayed on the wall so you can look at them while you are in line. There's a great variety of forever stamp options. If you want a particular stamp or a lot of stamps, it may be worth ordering online. I tried to get 200 postcard stamps and they had 110. What I appreciated however is that the woman helping me sold me every postcard stamp they had and recommended two other locations for finding the remaining stamps I needed. Once when I wanted a certain type of stamp, they sold me their last one that was in the display case instead of saying "we don't have that". I thought that was cool of them to do. I wish they were open longer and had a 24/7 postage kiosk but overall this is a good post office. read more

I am a big fan of all the employees at the Milwaukie post office. I know they have the weekends off, so go then boo-hoo but they are always so reliable whenever I am there Monday through Friday they all rock and I respect each and everyone of them. read more

There are only about two employees at any given time. This is not enough- not even close to enough. With so many mailboxes present, lines out the door, parcels take days to be scanned in. You need to drive into Portland to get delivery in a reasonable time. It's very frustrating to drop off a package on a Wednesday MORNING, first thing, pay for three-day service, and find one parcel hasn't been scanned in by the end of the day Thursday and the other won't be delivered until Tuesday. That is FIVE DAY. Maybe usps cannot count? Perhaps they are simply undermanned, but plenty of revenue is created at this location. PLENTY. They need to staff appropriately. Two people isn't enough. There are too many local businesses to be treated as peripheral, as this location treats its customers. I have had other, not great experiences, due to overly bureaucratic policies. But in all, I am positive the problems here are explicitly due to poorly meeting staffing needs. Hopefully Dave at the main Milwaukie location reads this and takes note because it's unacceptable to pay for 3-day mail and have parcels without scans days later and others being processed so late that they're 5-day delivery. Milwaukie usps needs to step up its game and also consider that good employees leave when overworked, treated as expendable, or exploited as many of the carriers and location-workers agree seem to be. read more

I think this place has a lot of negative reviews. I've been here a handful of times and have always had a good experience.

Very bad service, the person who attends the front desk does not take the time to see if your packages are at this address, she only sends you to another office without making sure that the package is not there. And my package is lost, she just sent me to another office and she doesn't have it they never answered the phone. read more

Aside from it being old I think overall the service is great, usually there is 1-3 people working so sometimes yes there is a line but what place doesn't these days. The employees are kind of you are kind back, and if you get to know them a bit they are very nice and informative. Worst. Post office. Ever!! It's so small, they don't have any kind of after hours vending machine for stamps or what-have-you, the employees always seem like they're ready to be done with their job... maybe even their life. It's really that bad. I'd probably want to kill myself if I worked there too... Okay, probably not, but the thought would cross my mind. The post office by my moms house... in the middle of nowhere in a tiny town that consists of a bar, a gas station, a mini mart next door to, but not affiliated with, the gas station, and a post office. Even her post office is better than this one!! At least the people inside are friendly. I avoid this post office at all costs even though it's walking distance from my house. I've been stopping in here from time to time over the past couple of years, and it never ceases to amaze me at how abysmal their customer service is. Seems to take forever to get help, lobby is small, no postage kiosk or vending machine in the outer lobby. I mean, c'mon. Greet me. Throw a smile my way once in awhile and pretend that customer service matters, even if you don't believe it. If there's any way to avoid coming here, do it. read more

No APC. that's a deal breaker. There were a good 5-8 people in line when I arrived. One lonely worker. Another employee was milling around. After 10 minutes, two employees were processing customers. Also, two employees 3 weeks before Christmas? An APC would surely be appreciated at this location. Customers can purchase postage and complete many transactions at their own pace. That is to say, faster. Weighing my item took an inordinate amt of time. Adding a book of stamps was slow as molasses. When I paid, I was asked if I'd like cash back. I said yes. I asked for ten. Apparently there is a $20 minimum. It should be advertised or told to the customer when she says she would like cash back. What a nightmare. Go anywhere else. read more

You reviewers suck. Yes... its small... and there are lines. There are not kiosks and vending machines. Just a tiny little post office in a quickly expanding town. It may not have modern conveniences many are used to but if your nose isnt buried in your phone... or tablet or wherever... you will notice that the employees have been there forever... and it is the same group every day... from open to close... Monday through Friday. They werent fired to be replaced with young kids that work faster for cheaper... and could care less about you or your children or your dog... or even care to know your name. They DO have conversations with customers and they do get to know you if you are open and can pull your heads out of you entitled arses long enough to hold a conversation with someone your senior. I know... I have been coming here for years. I would pick this post office over ANY of the bigger ones. Simply because of the employees that I have spent time getting to know. John is quick and tries his best to keep the line moving... so people dont get their panties in a bunch. It took forever to get him to smile because he is so focused... but it happened. :) All I had to do was say his name and ask how his day had been. Now we chat it up whenever I am at his register. Pete is slow as molasses but he is funny and loves to talk. He will talk about anything to family occasions to what you had for lunch. Once he gets to know you... its on. lol. Watch out or he will threaten to steal your debit card and run off on vacation. :) Maybe before being so quick to snap at people because they arent as smiley or entertaining as you would like... you could make the first move and smile at them. The older you get... the slower YOU will get too. You will have to focus harder on the same tasks and things wont come as easy. Treat them as you would your father or grandfather and see the results. Oh... and the only time there is only one person out there is when one is on lunch. So unless you are saying that they shouldnt have a lunch break because its inconvenient for you... thats not reason to fault them. lol Sorry for the rant... I love this little place... and someone has to stand up for the little guys. read more

This is the closest post office to where I live. That's the only reason I go there and even that is only a last resort. It's no wonder the USPS is a sinking ship with places like this. read more

This post office tends to have no sense of urgency when trying to mail a package in the lobby. Home delivery if your mail comes from this office is truly unique. At least 2 times a month sometimes 3 or 4 times you get the opportunity to play mail carrier because you end up delivering YOUR NEIGHBORS MAIL that has been placed in your mailbox. Im not talking next door neighbor Im talking next street around the corner. Sometimes you get mail from a different town! It doesn't matter how many times you call to complain it still happens. Sometimes they will not even answer the phone. (Don't believe me try it 503.654.1643) It doesn't even go to voice mail. The post office put sickers on my mailbox (a couple years ago) for the carrier to have a heads up but those evidently mean anything. Somebody get me a W-2 form and put me on the payroll cause I'm due compensation for finishing the mail carriers route. Ps its not always letters that get mis delivered its magazines news letters and stuff that is supposedly in a different sort bin. Would be nice if they could just pause a second and CONSISTENTLY MATCH THE MAIL WITH THE ADDRESS. read more

I have absolutely no idea who our mail carrier is, but this individual has a passion for not dropping off nor picking up our mail. I called the post office asking why our bills were not picked up for the 2nd time in two weeks, and the carrier claims we did have mail to be dropped off nor picked up... even though our mailbox flag indicated otherwise and we as a household are very diligent about putting our mail outside before pickup time. ADDITIONALLY The gentlemen that I spoke to at this post office was either having a terrible day, or he is the Grinch's lost son, and if thats the case he should not work for the USPS, or any customer service job for that matter. I would say avoid this location but that would require that you move your home elsewhere. Best of luck with them, put your patient pants on, and mail your bill 3 years early so they get paid on time. read more

I wanted to mail two sweaters to Texas. When I came in the woman behind the counter was on the phone. Did not look up. When she hung up she was busy doing something with a box. Still didn't look at me. When I asked her what box might be appropriate for my sweaters, she curtly said she was busy. Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, but she was Asian. Didn't know her name or I would have used her name. Not nice. So after I went through several without any help, and letting 3/4 others ahead of me, I got in line and another woman was there. She asked me if the other employee had helped me with anything and I told her not so much as she didn't even seem to care to help. I asked for tape and was given a tape gun. The tape was a mess, I struggled to get it to work when the man in line behind me came to help. I told him this is why I normally use Fed Ex! After 20 minutes from start to finish I left. Will NEVER EVER GO BACK. No wonder this agency is going down the tubes. They suck. read more
