What else can be said that hasn't already? The post office has been struggling forever and in the…read morecity its always worse than you figure. Yes, the lines are definitely long, not because its the city, because its chronically understaffed. Speaking of staff, it seems who they have working there are textbook definition of resigned. Otherwise its USPO- the prices and service are what you would expect any other location. I try to avoid this specific spot but due to proximity, having been around the area forever, I'm always stuck stopping by and burning my time.

Honestly I have had several terrible experiences at this post office (mostly with one specific…read morewindow clerk who I have now witnessed behaving rudely to several other unsuspecting customers as well) but it is the closest one to my workplace so I just brave it. The lines can be long at certain times of day which I just accept now, but that particular employee always says a package cannot be sent out if more than a day from the date mentioned on the shipping label. The issue is if you sell on eBay, Poshmark, Mercari, and other sites, the shipping labels are often created for you when someone purchases an item, so you have minimal control over what date shows up on the label - you are allowed several days to ship out the item per policy on those sites. I have sent out 1,000+ packages over the past few years via several different post offices in NJ and now here in Philly and NEVER heard this until I arrived at this particular USPS. The other post offices in the area have never mentioned this policy either. Also saw this employee yelling at a lady who was visiting from Europe since she was looking at the gift card display which was placed past the "wait here" line - the lady apologized, mentioning she was not from the states and didn't realize the rules. This employee then went on to sarcastically and patronizingly ask her "what, you don't know what a gift card is? You don't have those in your country?" The look on that poor lady's face - all she wanted to do was mail something out. Anyway, awful experience here unfortunately. The one at 720 Arch St has been much more pleasant and is open slightly later too! The one in the subway station by city hall is rarely open on time based on their stated business hours and often closed early so it's hit or miss.

They should at least let people know that it's closed before hauling all their packages there in the freezing cold. Unacceptable.

The 615 Chestnut Street postal service is a total disaster, and every terrible review is spot on…read more The female employees here couldn't care less about doing their jobs. They sit around chatting, talking personal calls and acting like basic customer service is some outrageous inconvenience. Turning away paying customers seems to be their favorite hobby. Honestly, it's impressive how consistently useless they manage to be. It's no wonder people want to sell off the postal service. This is what happens when you put a bunch of lazy, unqualified people in positions they have no business holding. These employees shouldn't just lose their jobs, they DESERVE to. They're leeching off taxpayers while putting in less effort than a broken vending machine. No one's going to feel bad when they finally get shown the door. The sooner this place is gutted and taken over by people who actually understand what "work" means, the better. These slackers can go back to doing what they do best, standing around, wasting time and hoping nobody notices. Spoiler Alert: we noticed!!

A friend of mine mailed me a package from this location but lost her receipt, and with it, the tracking number. It should have been delivered to me weeks ago, but we had no way of knowing what happened to it. So I gave them a call (from Boston) and explained the situation. Bonnie Brown, the supervisor, was extremely helpful and even cut short her lunch break to deal with my problem. She even waited on hold while I talked to my friend on the other line to obtain information (time the package was mailed, last 4 digits of her card, etc). Once she realized that the package still hadn't left a USPS shipping center, she even encouraged us to file a complaint with the customer's affairs department. Thank goodness she was on duty!! I'm taking away a star because I wouldn't be writing this review if it wasn't for my misplaced package in the first place!

I waited a few minutes to see if any workers would open the store. At 8:08am, I saw a women opening the doors while holding a conversation on her phone. There was one man in front of me in line. The way she talk to him in such a condescending, rude manner. I was in disbelief. The level of customer service is set in hell. Not to mention that she was still talking on the phone throughout my entire transaction as well. Then I'm listening to her conversation as she's complaining about the previous customer in front of me to the person on the phone. I will never go back there again and I don't recommend anyone else do either. If I could give a 0 star rating I would but this platform won't let me.
