System down over 1 week? Then they just sit for full days since system down???? and they just refuse all customers when people came???

The same lack as enthusiasm as all the other post offices. Why do they get so annoyed, just one walks in.

I experienced multiple unfortunate events at this post office location. This woman and staff are not set up for success, but there is a difference between being understaffed vs. being openly unkind and rude. Disrespect to customers, is unacceptable in any business and this was my experience three separate times. I hope that USPS can do something about it. :/ read more

DO NOT PATRONIZE. Female clerk is extremely unpleasant/ rude. She even went as far as to close the heavy metal gate ON MY ARM causing a major bruise. She cursed me out and told me to leave- however the male patron was allowed to remain in the store after closing. Ridiculous. I have had quite the assortment of experiences at this US Post Office location. Some employees are very kind and patient, while others are... not. The slight majority of my experiences have been positive enough to justify a 3-star "OK" rating. There has yet to be a time when I have arrived and not had to wait in a line. At this point, I think of the Post Office like the DMV... you're going to be waiting for a while and it may not be pleasant. My advice is to go when you are not in a rush to be somewhere. If you are kind to the employees, you will likely be met with kindness in return! read more

[471] Gosh... Every.single.time I visit this Chestnut street location the line is out the door. Today when I arrived during my lunch hour they only had one staff working and then another one finally came. Looks like the counter can accommodate 3 so not sure why they don't have a third person. If you want an envelope or packing make note of the sign "buy before you use".. .yeah like I am going to wait on a 20 person line twice. I only come here when I'm desperate. :( read more

Our tax dollars at work. Lisa was right; you do have to stand in line here, just to get stamps! The hotel I was staying at ran out of stamps, so I went here to buy them. I was not impressed of course. They do not have vending machines! If you need to mail something and need to fill out one of those delivery confirmation slip, you better be prepared. They will tell you to go back to the line if it's not filled out. They have a big sign that states that all forms have to be filled before approaching the counter. However, they got rid of all the pens! Needless to say, I was less than amused. read more

God bless their souls, the employees at this post office are friendly and patient. Unfortunately, they always seem to be severely under staffed. As such, the line goes on (nearly out the door in a majority of my visits). I've tried to learn the timing but haven't had a lot of luck. 2 PM on a Friday, 10 AM on a Tuesday, 3 PM on Thursday? Yup, lines out the door. Otherwise I need to again state the staff is great. They answer questions and give shipping advice to help you get your package to its destination as quick (and for me cheap often) as possible. If only the lines were shorter. read more

My stupid vendor changes post office boxes in the same post office and only pays to have mail forwarded for a very short time. I send checks to the old box number and the post office doesn't forward them to the new box and they don't return them to me. WTF? I have to pay my bank $60.00 to stop payment on two checks. Worst experience? Yes, indeed. It does not matter when you show up the line is always out of the door. It's not how many people work here, but rather how slowly they do so. I mean common it is 2014 and 1/2 of all shipping can be done from home! Try to avoid this place at all costs. My issue was printer broke, never coming here again! On Sat.,Nov 18, 2023 at approx. 10: 35a.m. I entered a US Post Office in CC Philadelphia. No one was in there but one postal female middle-age worker. I had frequented this location many times over the years and knew this employee by sight. She always wears a hat or covering on her head. I asked her a ? He facial expression became annoyed and tone of voice very aggatiated toward me. I told her there was no reason to be so nasty with me. During our exchange she told me .....".I'm sick of people asking me the same ?'s" and said "I know u have been in here before" and asked me this. I responded with a reply and commented about her nasty behavior. She would say to me......"then don't come in here". I remember saying to her that I would come to this location but would have some one else service me. This exchange continued .....this employee had to have the last word. She behaved like she was under some emotional distress. If this employee is due to retire I strongly suggest that it is past due. I took my papers and went to another post office. No customer should have to experience this type of behavior toward them. I filed a complaint against this employee today, Nov. 20, 2023. read more

I come here pretty frequently and I never had a problem until today. The worker that I dealt with usually is very kind and helpful but not today. I used the tape that they have out for customers to use (the worker saw me take it) and I began to tape it and then drop it off in the bin. The worker then tells me that I can not use to the tape on the package. When I questioned it, he became rude. I did not get an explanation and unsure why he didn't say anything while he saw me tape my package. I then had to buy tape. Thank god for the nice mail man who helped me and answered my questions. He then took my package for me. No wonder why stores are closing. Do better. Be nicer. read more

Staff was incredibly rude. This morning the customer in front of me attempted to get a money order and was talked down to by the only worker at the counter for taking out a credit card instead of a debit card to pay. Then, after charging the customer over $100, the worker realized the lockbox for money orders did not have a key. She had to go in the back to get someone else, who took the customer to a new counter and tried to charge them a second time when they had already paid. When the customer questioned this, they were told to relax as if they were being hysterical, and was given no verbal confirmation that the first payment of greater than $100 had been cancelled. Then, the second worker messed it up again and had to call a third worker. They were treating the customer as if it was their fault. I realize they are understaffed, but at the time, the customer in front of me and myself were the only 2 people in line. There was no excuse to be treating anyone that way. This situation took about 15 minutes, and in that time a line formed out the door before anyone else was helped. read more

I'm not really a fan of the post office, but my first time at this location I was surprised by the service. It's the best I've seen in a while. I did have to wait in line about 5 people deep, but it didn't take longer than 5 minutes. I've experienced much worse at other locations. Another plus about this place is they have a better selection of shipping supplies than others. As for what everyone else is saying... I completely understand. I don't plan to go out of my way to go here, but it beats 15th street and 9th street by far. read more

You can almost put money on it that you are going to stand in line at this location. They have only 3 windows and the majority of the time they only have 2 people working. I was so annoyed, I just needed stamps and my bank atm was out of them, the bank told me go to the post office! So I go to the post office hoping to get some stamps from one of the automated machines but apparently they removed the machine from this location. The only way to buy stamps is to stand in line. Apparenlty its the way of the future...no one buys stamps at the post office any more. Its never happened to me but if you don't have your stuff together when you get up front, they will tell you to get out of line, fix your mail and then wait in a side line to get back in line. This is not my first choice but since its the closest to where I work, I frequent this location more then others. read more

Given the lack of funding for the USPS, it's almost understandable that the staff is lacking both in quantity and quality. Unfortunately, at this location (worse than 1500 JFK Blvd) will take you about 20-30 minutes to be helped. On this particular visit, I stopped by at 2PM and it took about 20 minutes before I was helped. There was only young lady who was helping a line that was literally to the door. She was quite nice and capable, but unfortunately, there's only so much that can be done with one person. Sadly, there were at least two other people working there, but they were busy 'organizing.' Clearly, upper managements needs to get a handle on restructuring the USPS' business model and training. It's an essential part of America, but clearly money should not follow bad business. read more

Time: Thursday 9:45 am. NO ONE is working the counter/register. I just got here, but there are 3 other customers who have apparently been waiting here since 9:00 am for someone to show up! The manager of this branch is present, but apparently she can't work the counter/register without the specific employee assigned to that position??? What??? You have people waiting here - why can't you operate the register? I have never seen anything like this before in my life. Why even open up the office if no one is available to do anything? It's set up to fail. It's not open outside of normal business hours, instead of being open at eight it opens at nine. This morning it opened at 9:20 with a long line already cued up in the extreme heat outside. There are no stamp machines in there so you have to wait in line, a good 10 to 20 person line at any time of day, to buy one stamp. All they need to do is add a stamp machine and a little longer hours on either side and it could be a decent place. I feel sorry for the poor people who have to work there because they're put in an impossible situation. I think the post office is setting this place up to fail. read more

I have yet to relate to any of the other reviews so far. Sure, the workers here are not the happiest or peppiest people, the venue is tiny and there are longer than expected waiting periods (especially during rush hour) but what do you expect from a Post Office? My favorite part about this location is that it's conveniently close to me in Rittenhouse so if anyone around the area needs to ship packages but are on a budget, I'd recommend coming here over Fed Ex or UPS. read more

Since Jan 1 2020 I forwarded my business mail and my residence and haven't gotten any mail at my new address for 10 months despite contacting them in writing, online, email, by phone, and doing same with their superiors at all levels. I've renewed it every 3 months just in case. This isnt a c19 issue this had happened within city limits in prior years. So where is all my mail going? It's never returned or forwarded. It's stolen! Time of Visit: Saturday, 11:30AM I frequent post offices (because I am a sucker for handwritten correspondance), so I am used to lines and marginally helpful staff. Even considering my love of letters, this post office is one of the worst I have personally experienced. Others have commented on not having enough counters open: ditto. The line was practically to the Front Door (which is an inordinate wait time if you have been here), with only two counters open. I had my letter pre-addressed with the correct label, but their forms counter was missing the most basic of forms/labels, including the one I would have needed. It was also super-hot inside: either the A/C was not functional or everybody was physically getting hotter out of frustration/waiting. The only thing keeping it from a one star: my teller was very helpful and polite, which did pleasantly surprise me. While I will continue to send letters, I will probably avoid this post office to send them. read more

I went in today for the first time to purchase stamps and the clerk seemed friendly and helpful. They have a selection of greeting cards and some other items for purchase. I actually had trouble finding the post office but two people had told me where it was, it's smaller than I expected. I will come back though, mainly because of convenience. read more

It's your typical post office. Usually the line is to the door and the employees are pretty slow but today business was empty and the trip was quick.
