This post office is ALWAYS a nightmare. They are disorganized and unhelpful. The gentleman running the passport desk was rude. I had an appointment and all of my documents. There's not much to say about a postal office... The place has nice hours and the staff is not super friendly but they are not rude either. I guess my biggest complaint is that they always seem to be low in staff... So even if you go during the summer (no Holidays nearby), this place is always packed. I have family in Germany, Puerto Rico, California and Baltimore. I come here often... many times during the year. I have always had to make a 45 minute line... to say the least. read more

I've been going to this location forever and it has been a neat post office with helpful staff. I'll admit this isn't always the case. But more often than not it is a pleasant experience. The lines can be really long. I'd suggest planning ahead. They have self service kiosks where you can purchase shipping labels and just drop off your items! That is really convenient! They have an assortment of things for you to purchase for all your shipping needs. Generally, their is an employee standing around answering questions and just helping out. The parking is right out front and is rarely overcrowded. They also offer various other services pertaining to passports and and shipping services. Overall, I would say that this is a great post office to take care of your shipping errands! read more

This post office location is great if you really need assistance. For instance, if you need to know how much postage to put on a package or if you need to buy a box, this Waterford Lakes USPS is helpful. However, I will say that you can't be in a rush. If you have to wait in line to do ANYTHING (and you will unless you can use an automated machine), expect to wait at least 15 minutes. It's kinda like Wal-Mart--even if there's 3 people in line, it will still take 20 minutes. And I know a fellow Yelper said that there's plenty of helpful staff here, but honestly I have had the opposite experience. Every time I have a question I look around and the only employees are working behind the counter. Oh and there's a passport services station here, but good luck--while I was in line I looked at their hours and it said they were open from like 10AM-2PM. Also, I was once almost charged for packing tape at this location. Essentially, if I had a quaint, little post office shop near me I would much rather go there instead. read more

The people here are so kind, it was my first time dropping off a package and I really didn't know what I was doing, thankfully they were able to help me out and explain how it all worked. Avoid if possible! Like most USPS location, I dropped my package of with a preprinted label, and they lost it! No one was at the post office to help, I had to wait 1hour on hold to speak with someone. Waited two day, they called back from an "Unknown" number (so I couldn't call back), and left a message saying I had to contact the shipper to make sure they delivered it to the post office. That's me! I shipped it! Now it's lost and probably in someone's hands who took advantage of a free item. I don't even know how they're still able to function in the free market. STOP USING USPS! This place definitely gets the work done and is extremely convenient, as it is located on Alafaya. The drop off box inside is so convenient so you do not have to wait in line. Take advantage of it. This place is horrible. I am not even sure why they have a phone. I kept trying to call, and no one would answer. When someone finally did answer the phone, it was a woman who was talking to someone else. She just picked up the phone and hung up. The phone rang busy when I tried to call back. I decided I would ask the mailman who services my neighborhood the question I needed answered. He very rudely explained that wasn't his job and told me I needed to call the office. When I told him getting someone on the phone was impossible, he just laughed and pretended I was no longer there as he went about his business. I understand being busy. I do. If your locations cannot answer the phone, fine. Make sure the people at the 1-800 numbers or the postmen(women) themselves can. They both told me I needed to call the location that services my neighborhood. Try caring about your customers and the service you provide them. You wouldn't have a job without them. It's not like you don't know there's a problem with the location. All you have to do is read the reviews. read more

Finding one of those little orange slips in your mailbox is akin to getting a court summons....or a colonoscopy appointment. It means but one thing.......you will be required to camp out in line at the post office "annex" (gulag seems like a more appropriate term) for an interminable wait while one postal employee heavily dosed on thorazine, takes that card from each person and wonders about in the back room like a Walking Dead zombie, looking for their parcel that has apparently been randomly tossed in a remote corner by a tornado. That's IF you are lucky. Invariably there are complications....because there are ALWAYS complications and while you are relieved it is not you crying and pleading at the counter to a stone faced zombie who will make no apology for yet another lay postal employee blunder, you curse that fool and wish the KGB would kidnap them and take them away forever because you just want to get YOUR parcel and get out of there before your family gives up and declares you dead. As the hours tick by you start to wonder why you just didn't drive to Butte, Montana and pick up the damn thingamajig since it would have saved you so much time. Nope, you had to be a smartarse and order something on Ebay. My advice: Bring a bag chair and seasons 1-6 of Downton Abbey and be sure to wear super absorbent Depends because it is going to be a while. Actually, it might be better to pack some freeze dried meals and skip the bag chair and Depends in favor of a portable commode (a comfy a chair AND a place to...well, you know what I mean). And don't bother complaining. No one at the postal service gives a palmetto bug's patootie. read more

The location was super crowded and appeared to be in disarray on the day that I visited. It felt like a zoo. I didn't stick around to complete my task due to the large crowd and the fact that I didn't see the mailing supplies -- unfortunately, my patience was absent. This is one of the best post office locations in East Orlando. It used to be in a crappy, older building right at this same location; but once they opened the Waterford Towers shopping center they moved to a larger suite. The most convenient thing about this location is the three Automated Postal Centers that are inside the lobby here. You can go 24/7 to use one of these Automated Centers and do anything from purchase stamps to send out a package. I know sometimes it's hard for me to get to the post office during business hours, and this is a godsend! This location gets pretty busy. Actually, I've never been when there wasn't a line at least a few people deep. That's where the automated services really come in handy! I'm usually in and out in 5 minutes flat. The location itself is in a great area and the building is nice and new. The staff seems really helpful also, don't hesitate to ask questions if you are unsure about anything! read more

TAX TIME SUCKS I walked in and saw a very long line but all I needed to do was buy a stamps, put my return address on the envelope, put a stamp on the envelope and mail cry as I mail a check to the IRS. So much for using one of THEIR pens because ALL of the pens on the chain were stolen. the pens being stolen was not unexpected so I just walked out to my car and got a pen from the center console and went back inside.I put my return address on the envelope and sealed it. Rather than standing in line I chose the self service machine and in about 1 minute I had my book of stamps. I placed a stamp on the envelope and dropped it in the mail slot with one final tear on the envelope. lol Had I brought a pen with me I would have been in and out in 2 minutes. I have read a lot of people complaining about this location being slow, bad service and such but I can't say anything bad about this location. I have always been in and out but then again, I use Fed EX or UPS for shipping bulk items and not the USPS. read more

Bad customer service. I had a package arrive in Orlando and it was delayed at this hub for 3 days. I called the Post Office on the 3rd day and the lady I spoke with was very rude when I asked her about the "package delayed" message I got when I looked up the tracking number. She responded by saying that wasn't a message that it gives and then she said that it wasn't a rush delivery so it will "get there when it gets there". She then hung up on me. For reference and context, I wasn't being rude, pushy or complaining when I called. Of course, I have a right to when USPS ships a package in 11 days when it projects it would take 4-6.. I'm just making the point that this lady was unprovoked and naturally rude. They need to hire people that have basic customer service skills and then promote that culture within the Post Office. It's no wonder that the USPS is having financial trouble and I don't feel good about using my tax dollars to support an unaccountable subpar service that is rude to the very people that support them. Another example of how government stacks up against the competition - very poorly. But I guess that's what happens when you spend other people's money - you end up worse than the Burger King of post offices. read more

Like other reviewers have said, this location is very popular and can get quite busy depending on the time of day. I was in and out in 10 minutes the other day around 3:30pm, but I only needed a change of address form. It was very crowded still, and there were three people working behind the counters and one in the line helping people purchase what they needed. The interior is pretty large, but the layout can be a little confusing. The line begins behind the two large weigh stations, further back is the little "store" with fancy letter/box items, and toward the front you have lots of empty space. The employees were all moving quickly this day, what was slowing down the line were the other patrons arguing about what kind of stamps they could buy and how they could buy them. The postal woman (employee, not attitude) handled the situation well, but seriously. Stop. Harassing. Them. I doubt they look at a line of ten people and think, Shoot dang, let me single this one woman out. Beyond that, it was a standard, slow, confusing post office with good employees on the day I visited. read more

Overall: Expect to wait. OK, I realize a Post Office and waiting go hand in hand, but this PO ridiculous. Sometimes they decide to bring another employee out to the waiting area when the line gets super long to ask what we need. Clearly we need more people behind the counter! One day I received a slip to pick up a package at the PO. Once I finally got to the counter, the employee takes about 10 minutes to try and find the package then comes back to tell me, "We don't have the package. Perhaps the mailman hasn't returned from his daily deliveries yet, try tomorrow." It was 6:30PM at that point and I was not happy because it was an urgent package and I had just wasted 30 minutes. Literally called over a dozen times in the past several days about information on one of my packages just to be either hung up on or no one to pick up the line I called other Usps in the area but unlike this one they actually picked up and help me locate my package but for them to do anything that I was trying to do they couldn't because my package was not at their location and was told to contact this one because my package is in their facility with me being unable to come in person iam getting basically no help from them and reading the reviews I understand they need to re-hire a whole new staff. read more

It's very organized, and there is a really tall dude there has a deep voice like dude on "Everybody loves Raymond." It is well staffed and I have received so much help even at the machines. Brought a package today that was a return and needed some help figuring out where to put the return label. The box was open because the label was on the return form which goes in the box. I just wanted to make sure I got the label in the right place beforehand. The guy was so rude and really disrespectful. There was no one in line waiting...he barked at me to go buy a roll of tape. Over the course of the year I have lost over $500 worth of mail through this carrier. 6 times I've received vacancy slips, even after contacting management and filling several complaints. They tell me to check my mail more frequently, so I have. Three days ago I cleared the mailbox. Today, I go to look for the deer antlers I ordered for my dog. It said it had been delivered, but when I went down I found an empty mailbox. It's just mind blowing how incompetent someone has to be, to return all of someone's mail days before Christmas (instead of using a larger lock box). They've lost my mail, made me drive to their office 10 times to try to find things that shouldn't be lost. I like this USPS branch because it's roomy, there's counter help, and they have 4 of the self serve machines. The line for the counter usually moves quickly. This location also serves as a passport application center, including the photo portion. They do take appointments, but they are few and far between, so the best bet is to show up early and wait in line. It took about an hour and a half, but better than waiting the 3 weeks for the appointment I was able to make! Usually the supply section is pretty messy, but I've always managed to scrounge whatever box I need at the moment. read more

The worst possible service with any agency to date! Dropped of my package personally which was an 800 phone- got a receipt after waiting in line for 30 mins. This was dropped off on 11-24-20 and as of today 12-9-20 the package has not been scanned, updated nothing! I have called with hold times of more than 77 mins- no one picks up at the local store. I finally get a hold of an agent and the line goes dead within 4 mins of researching the call. I will never ship USPS again no matter if the merchant provides me a label! I will pay UPS or FEDEX going forward. No wonder why the USPS services are dying off...this is a prime example! read more

I just recently found out that this location is open until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturdays until 4 p.m. What an answer to prayer! The location is very spacious, offering plenty of room to finish wrapping those last minute packages. They offer several self service stations as well for the seasoned shipper. They usually have a good number of people working so the long line moves fairly quickly. There are a few grumpy Gretas, but more importantly there are some super nice gentleman that work there. I have never had any difficult time in a post office except for this one. I already purchased the shipping, boxes for the delivery for Ebay. This stupid clerk , all she had to do was take my boxes and put them to the side to ship them, but no, SE had to check if my items for real, she wanted to open one of my boxes to see if I was lying about sending it to media email, and she told me that this certain tape was not acceptable.... I HAVE ALWAYS USED DUCK TAPE TO PUT AROUND THE BOXES FOR YEARS!!!!!!! And this one stupid time she tries to correct me the moment I walk up to her. Soon after, she wanted me to pay more money for the weight being only a pound more (understandable) but she now is accusing that I only spent a certain amount on the shipping , when I showed her PROOF that I spent more then what she was trying say I paid for. She wanted me to pay the difference with more money which I already spent and I'm like NO FRICKEN WAY! Maybe the place is better, but this idiot with no emotion doesn't know any good customer service. My mom went to this post office to mail in a phone. She already had a label and everything. She just needed to pay for a box and mail it out. The woman who was taking care of her (Rozlyn) was rude and wasn't helpful at all. She didn't even look at the label nor did she ask her what she needed help with. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a post office. The first employee that helped me was a bit rude, but tolerable. She did assist when I needed it, although she acted as if all the questions I asked were the dumbest questioned she had ever heard, at least she helped. It wasn't until I got to the desk that I encountered the most unpleasant person I have ever met. This woman was in every way shape and form, disgusting. Everything was the most inconvenient thing to her. I wanted to know the difference in shipping cost for a bag verses a box, she had to WRITE DOWN the prices before she could tell me... Letting out a huge sigh every time she wrote something down. Once I figured out what I wanted to do, she gave me the box and told me "go over there now so I can take the next person in line." There was NO ONE else in line... A minute later, I returned with my box ready to ship. I generally consider myself a pleasant person. If someone is helping me, I'm going to be as nice as possible. It's common courtesy. This woman was basically making fun of and mocking the fact I was trying to be nice. Responding with "lord have mercy on me." She couldn't even bring her lazy self to scan a box appropriately. Instead she grabbed the scanning gun like I would imagine a retarded t-Rex would and used her pinky finger to press the button. This woman made me feel awful for everything I did or said, and yet I still continued to act as nice as possible. Once the transaction was completed, I said "thank you very much, have a great day." To which she responded to with a grunt. Not a grunt in acknowledgement. A grunt you would here from a warthog, or your 80 year old grandfather as he falls asleep on his recliner. I honestly wanted to flip her off and yell F**k you as I left. I'm sorry you have such a hard job.... at the post office.... sitting down.... making good money.... doing barely anything..... with government benefits.... and ultimate job security.... If I could, I would give this place a -5 stars. I moved to the Waterford area back in 2013 and since then I've always had issues with the particular office and its carriers. Where to start? My carrier (or carriers since I never have the same mailman or woman) has lost plenty of my packages and some really important ones like my fiancés texts books. It was just a few days before classes started and my fiancé ordered text books from Amazon and she had been tracking them for the past week. So finally said they arrived and we went to go grab them from the mail box and they weren't there! She frantically called the post office because school was just in a few days. They kept telling her that the package had gone to the right address and to maybe check the front office at our condo and so we did and still nothing. The next day we called Amazon and then double checked the post office... still nothing. In a last effort we confronted the carrier about the missing package. He explained that he wasn't the person to deliver the mail the day before. Since we live in a condominium, he checked the near by boxes to see if there was a chance that it was misplaced and long behold... it was in the wrong box and that was just the first time they misplaced packages! We are annual pass holders at Disney World and the first year we purchased annual passes we were expecting Disney bands to come in and they never did. Like before we were tracking them and we double checked the delivery info to make sure we had the correct mailing address and we called the post office. They ensured us that it was delivered and to check out condos front office. Long story short, we never found them and we reported them missing and Disney was kind enough to replace them. My fiancé was expecting medication in the mail and that too was misplaced and placed into the wrong mailbox too. Theres been so many issues its hard to remember them all and when we try to go the post office and or annex to fix a issue or retrieve mail theres always just so much attitude from the employees and they act like since they didn't lose it personally, they don't have to try to help us. God forbid you receive a pink slip in the mail too, its like heading to get teeth pulled at the dentist. All in all I wish this office had better attitude and paid more attention or even cared more when handling peoples mail! read more
